The leader of the rescue team now looked at Rek and his teammates as if they were heroes.
To be able to fight against so many Alien Species in the Underground Vein, while also thinking to seal off the entrance to prevent the Alien Species from escaping and completely annihilating all the Alien Species within the mine, was truly remarkable.
With years of combat experience in Dark Space, the Rescue Team Leader understood that the death of all Alien Species in the mine would greatly aid future mining operations. The personnel who would later mine the area would no longer have to worry about attacks from Alien Species seeking revenge.
The team members who had come down with the Rescue Team Leader were now stunned into silence by the bloody scene before them.
The Rescue Team Leader picked up his communicator: "Send down two more people with a stabilization device to get the unconscious Injured up here, quickly."
Two members of the rescue team descended via the Elevator. When they saw the scene in the Underground Vein, they were equally shocked and looked at Rek with admiration and respect.
The two rescue team members began to check the bodies of the unconscious Maya, Alice, and Victorious Monkey.
After confirming that their bones and internal organs were intact, they started securing each person to the Elevator one by one, operating it to quickly send them back to the surface.
Rek was the last to leave.
"Do you need my help getting up, Rek?" the Rescue Team Leader asked Rek, who was sitting on the ground.
"I'm fine; I can still walk on my own. Just a bit exhausted," Rek replied, shaking his hand.
Rek and the Rescue Team Leader stepped onto the Elevator together, which then activated again to leave the Underground Vein.
Upon returning to the surface, Rek saw a doctor from the rescue team using instruments to check on Maya and the others' conditions.
"The steel needles that resemble hair must be toxic.
The specific antidote formula needs to be analyzed at the Academy Fortress with instruments. I will first inject some nutrient solution into their bodies to accelerate the recovery speed of the Genetic Mech. Both of them and the monkey have consumed a lot of Stamina," the Military Doctor said, taking three syringes filled with high-concentration nutrient solution and injecting them into the necks of the three.
Rek observed the Military Doctor's conservative treatment method but did not say much.
The Military Doctor frowned at the densely packed Steel Needles on the unconscious Alice, Maya, and Fighting Saint Monkey. "Load them onto the transport vehicle and immediately send them back to the Academy Fortress. I will remove the Steel Needles on the way, so drive steadily. I need an assistant."
"Let's go, I'll be your assistant. I have some medical knowledge to help you remove these steel needles," Rek offered.
The unconscious Alice, Maya, and Fighting Saint Monkey were carefully lifted onto a medium-sized rescue Hover Car.
"Leave five people behind to take photos and collect data on the ore content in the Underground Vein," the Rescue Team Leader instructed.
He also planned to accompany Rek to escort them back to the Super Soldier Academy Fortress.
"Captain, there's no need for you to escort us personally.
You can stay here to command your subordinates! Our team previously placed a device in the Underground Vein to collect ore content data; it should still be on the rock wall in the vein. You can send someone to look for it, which will save a lot of time," Rek suggested.
The Rescue Team Leader considered it and nodded in agreement with Rek's suggestion.
"That works too. If you encounter any problems on your way back to the Fortress, contact me immediately, and I will rush over.
This time, I will send two soldiers and a Military Doctor to escort you back to the Fortress," the Rescue Team Leader said.
Rek nodded. Along the way, the Hover Transport Vehicle drove steadily over the Sand.
In the back compartment of the transport vehicle, the doctor took out two surgical clamps and handed one to Rek.
"I will remove these Steel Needles. Since it's your first time using surgical clamps, just watch me first. Once you understand, we can remove them together. You must pull out the Steel Needles quickly, and be careful not to shake your hands when the clamps are gripping the Steel Needles. You need to—" The doctor wanted to continue speaking but saw that Rek had already taken the surgical clamps, holding them properly in his hand and quickly moving them over the unconscious Maya.
One by one, the Steel Needles were successfully pulled out by Rek's movements with the surgical clamps and neatly placed onto a metal tray beside him.
"Oh!" Seeing Rek's technique, the doctor said nothing more and also picked up a pair of surgical clamps to start removing the steel needles from the monkey. After all, it seemed that the monkey was injured the most severely.
In three to five minutes, Rek had removed all of the Steel Needles from Maya and Alice, and returned to the side of the Fighting Saint Monkey.
At this point, the doctor had only removed a little over ten steel needles. He looked up at Rek, feeling somewhat guilty and embarrassed.
"I am a warrior; quick hands and steady technique are my strengths. If it really came down to surgery, my skills might not match yours," Rek humbly reassured the doctor, whose pride had been somewhat hurt.
Rek began treating the Fighting Saint Monkey.
With Rek's help, within twenty minutes, all of the thousands of steel needles on the Fighting Saint Monkey were completely removed.
The Fighting Saint Monkey already had fur, so distinguishing between steel needles and its original fur slowed down Rek's treatment a bit.
---
Several hours later, Rek and others were in a special Isolation Chamber for super soldiers. This Quarantine Room contained four hospital beds and a complete set of medical equipment, specifically prepared for those injured while carrying out missions outside the Dark Space Academy Fortress.
A doctor in a protective suit quickly walked into the Quarantine Room.
"Rek, are you okay? Are you seriously injured?" The doctor who entered was actually the Moon Goddess.
The Moon Goddess received information from the rescue team in the medical room, stating that Special Class One, consisting of three people and a monkey, had been injured during a mission. Two of them and the monkey were unconscious and needed treatment, with a preliminary assessment indicating exposure to a neurotoxin.
Upon hearing this, the Moon Goddess immediately recognized that it was Rek's class. She quickly applied for the position of treating doctor and rushed over.
"I'm not seriously injured; I'm just a bit tired and exhausted. However, my teacher Maya and my classmate Alice are more seriously injured.
They already had many bite wounds from Alien Species on their bodies, and later they were hit by numerous Steel Needles from the Alien Species.
The Alien Species we encountered this time carried neuroparalytic toxins. I've already removed the steel needles that were embedded in them with the rescue team doctor, and they're placed in that Metal Sealed Box.
You should hurry and test these Steel Needles to prepare some disinfectant treatment solutions for them," Rek said in a calm tone.
"It's good that you're not injured. Oh, that's not what I meant. I'll test the Steel Needles right away," the Moon Goddess replied with a smile as she placed the sealed metal box into a Testing Machine.
The test results came out within minutes, along with suggested medications and formulas.
"This mental toxin isn't severe; there's no fatal danger. A few common medications will suffice for treatment. I'll give them a mixed medication injection, and they'll be fine," the Moon Goddess said as she began to get busy with her hands.
