Rek woke up the next morning to the electronic sound signaling the end of his quarantine in the Quarantine Room.
After getting up, Rek saw that Alice and Maya were already sitting up. They hadn't disturbed his sleep and were engaged in conversation.
"Rek, you're awake! What happened after we passed out? I contacted the rescue team leader using my Wrist Communicator, and he said that when they entered the Underground Vein, all they found was the remains of Alien Species. Did you really kill all those thousands of Head Abominations by yourself?" Maya asked Rek, looking somewhat puzzled.
The blonde Alice also looked at Rek with interest and said, "I thought we were done for! I didn't expect you to be our lucky star and savior. It's great that we're still alive! Rek, did you hide some powerful move that could wipe out a whole group of Alien Species in one go?"
Hearing this, Rek smiled and shook his head. "Those Headless Abominations died on their own. After their heads shot out hair, they stood still for a few minutes, and then all their heads exploded. I don't have any powerful moves; if I had such a miraculous ability, I would have used it earlier to prevent you from getting hurt," Rek explained.
Alice and Maya exchanged skeptical glances with Rek, clearly not fully believing his explanation, but without evidence, they couldn't argue further.
"Alright, we survived this time thanks to Rek. I won't press on how those Alien Species died; anyway, they've all perished beneath the mine. Our quarantine is over now. The Rescue Team Leader just sent me a message saying that although the ore content in this Underground Vein isn't high, it contains mostly medium to high-grade special ores, which are quite rare. The Super Soldier Academy Fortress plans to send out a mining team; it should take about a month to finish extracting from this small Underground Vein. According to what Alice had told him earlier, if the Super Soldier Academy Fortress moved at its normal speed, it would reach the location of the special Time Beast related to the Alien Species in about a month. Rek hoped to kill the Time Beast soon so he could enter the ruins and find a way to lift his curse.

"Sure, let's go for a big meal. But can we eat in our combat suits? Aren't we going to change into regular clothes?" Rek pointed at their combat suits, which were stained with Alien Species blood and had signs of damage.
"Change? Why change? After eating, we'll head back to our dorms and take a nap.
Besides, it's just eating in the Academy Fortress cafeteria; there's no rule against wearing combat protective gear after completing a mission," Alice replied.

As Rek and Alice got their meals, students who had been waiting in line automatically made way for them, as if they were major figures coming to inspect.
