The combat mode of the human legion once again demonstrated its powerful strength, ultimately driving away the Fifth-Stage Zombies. 0

Tens of thousands of Zombies perished in this battle, while the army led by Elder Starshine only lost a few dozen men. 0

Rek witnessed Elder Starshine swiftly issuing commands and directing operations for the first time, feeling as if watching an artistic performance. 0

The Temporary Force, which originally had poor mobility, would have been difficult for an ordinary commander to manage. Yet under the command of the Starry General, it was transformed into a legion battle mode. 0

Elder Starshine did not allow his subordinates to linger but quickly began to scavenge all weapons and equipment within the military base, locating and opening two Emergency Supply Warehouses. 0

Several hours later, a convoy departed from the nearly emptied military base. 0

The soldiers returning from the operation looked at their vehicles loaded with food and weapons, and at the powerful Headless Monster Xingyao hovering in front of the convoy. They all felt a renewed hope for survival and their morale soared. 0

In the following days, Elder Starshine began to acquire detailed Earth Maps and dispatched subordinates to conduct extensive reconnaissance in nearby areas, recording the number and levels of existing Zombies. 0

While organizing training for his troops and attacking small Zombie Hordes to seize food and weapons, Elder Starshine also prepared for the relocation of their Fortress. 0

Elder Starshine planned a route for the relocation. 0

He summoned several newly promoted subordinate leaders to the hall of the Small Fortress. 0

Rek saw the Starry Head hovering in the hall, commanding with great authority: "The coastal city will become our new base and the capital of the Starry Empire. 0

Our Starry Empire will gradually grow stronger and become the largest empire of humanity in this new world." 0

After sending someone to investigate, I found that while there are Zombies in the ocean, they rarely come out to attack humans as long as we do not enter the seawater. 0

The Small Fortress here can no longer keep up with the pace of our Empire's development. Both its geographical location and transportation have limited the growth of my Starry Empire. 0

We will establish our main base in the coastal city. This will allow us to focus on our development without worrying about the safety of our rear for at least the early stages of building our main base. 0

This is the location where, three days from now, everyone in my fortress will undergo a large-scale relocation. 0

We will build a new home for humanity in the coastal city. 0

According to previous records from Earth, this military base houses a large operational military corps, along with numerous supplies and equipment, as well as many Mechanical Factories. 0

We will rely on it to gradually expand and advance step by step. 0

"Yes, Starry Commander," several leaders agreed, not daring to voice their opinions. After recent interactions, they had realized that Elder Starshine was very autocratic; even if they expressed dissenting views, they would likely not be accepted and could even be killed by the temperamental monster head. 0

--- 0

Rek watched the recordings, continuously pressing fast forward. The video showed Elder Starshine establishing a military base in the coastal city within just two or three years and restoring some operations of human mechanical factories. 0

However, the number of Zombies was still too high compared to the existing human population. The base established by Elder Starshine would inevitably face attacks from Zombie Hordes. 0

In these two years, there were two occasions when two Fifth-Stage Zombies led massive Zombie Hordes to attack the empire established by Elder Starshine. Elder Starshine organized his army to engage in battle and defend their homeland. 0

The heavy consumption of weaponry and ammunition led to many soldiers losing their lives. It can be said that Starry Head paid a heavy price to repel the Alien Horde and protect this base. 0

"It seems that Elder Starshine, even if everything goes smoothly, can only regain an advantage over the Zombie sea by restoring human weapon manufacturing plants and mines. 0

However, developing these will take at least another ten years. Starry Glory will only stabilize its military base after that, and it is estimated that only then will Starry Glory have the experience, financial resources, and materials to begin researching technology. 0

As for eliminating all the Zombies in that world, it seems unlikely that Elder Starshine will accomplish this in their lifetime," Rek sighed inwardly. 0

Several hours had passed. "Get up, Rek, we need to go to the cafeteria for breakfast, and then we’ll release the Kongming Lantern outside Fortress. 0

To get out of Academy Fortress, we need to apply in advance," Alice called out to Rek, who was lying in bed. 0

Twenty minutes later, Rek changed into sportswear and, along with Alice, who was dressed in a doll outfit, quickly ate something in the cafeteria. Alice even packed some food. 0

Today, the cafeteria surprisingly served drinks to students and teachers, but there was a limit on how much each person could get. They could only purchase a small portion using their Wrist Communicator identity card. 0

"What a long line! Come on, let’s queue up to buy some drinks and food. We can eat in the quarantine room when we return to Quarantine Room tonight," Alice excitedly urged Rek, pulling him along to join the long line. 0

Half an hour later, Alice held two bottles of low-alcohol beverages and some Side Dish, all packed into a sealed box, smiling happily. 0

"I'll go use the restroom; you can wait for me at the cafeteria entrance," Rek said. 0

After going to the restroom, Rek found an empty spot and released his clone. 0

The clone looked at Rek, and after not seeing it for a long time, Rek felt that the clone had changed somehow, though he couldn't pinpoint exactly how. 0

"War God System, is there any possibility that my clone could betray me?" Rek asked the War God System in his mind. 0

“Host is overthinking. The clone is a part of Host's body. As long as Host is in contact with the clone, it can be recalled at any time and perform fusion skills. 0

The clone will never betray Host and will be controlled by Host's Mental Energy. Even if it acts independently, it will only do things beneficial to Host,” the voice of the War God System echoed in Rek's mind. 0

After hearing this, Rek felt somewhat reassured. 0

“Clone, do you want to release a Kongming Lantern, or do you want to attend the Academy Ball? Of course, no matter which one you choose, I will control you with my soul and share information with you,” Rek found himself unexpectedly asking the clone for its opinion. 0

“The fact that you let me choose means I should express what I want. Since we are one, what I want is probably also what you want. My choice is the New Year Ball at the Super Soldier Academy. 0

After being lonely for so many years, you hope to blend into the lively crowd but are afraid of losing and tend to avoid it. 0

The academy's New Year Ball is likely your choice as well,” the clone replied. 0

Rek took off the Wrist Communicator in his hand and put it on the clone. 0

“Alright, since I've let you choose, I'll give this opportunity at the ball to your body to experience. 0

However, if I have free time while releasing the Kongming Lantern tonight, I will split some Mental Energy to control your body. 0

You stay here for a while and later go find Maya downstairs at the Teacher's Dormitory,” Rek said, feeling a bit regretful about letting the clone choose. 0

“Okay, I wish you a good time. Happy New Year! Perhaps releasing a Kongming Lantern with Alice outside the Fortress is where you truly want to go; I'm not so sure anymore,” the clone said. 0

After hearing the clone's words, Rek left the restroom in frustration and went to find Alice at the cafeteria entrance. 0

Rek and Alice arrived near the exit of the First District, where Rek approached the guard at the exit and expressed their request to release Kongming Lanterns near the Fortress. 0

Today is New Year's Day, and the guard looked at Rek and Alice, who appeared like a couple, along with the Kongming Lanterns in their hands. 0

Most of the guards at Academy Fortress are seniors who chose to stay on after graduation and have experienced life at the academy. 0

The guard did not make things difficult for them and approved their application to leave the Fortress. 0

"You will have to undergo an Eight Hours quarantine upon your return, and this time, you must not jump off the Super Soldier Academy Fortress while it's moving. If you jump off, especially during this festive season, no one will be able to come back for you. 0

At that time, relying solely on your Genetic Mech, it will be hard to catch up with the movement of the Super Soldier Academy Fortress. Staying in Dark Space could put your lives in danger," the guard kindly reminded Rek and Alice. 0

"Okay, understood. Don't worry; we have executed many missions outside the Fortress before, so we know all this," Alice interjected. 0

After filling out the application for Rek and Alice, the guard allowed them to go to the nearby Training Facility Storage to collect a set of protective gear. 0

A few minutes later, Rek and Alice were dressed in combat protective suits. 0

Alice was also holding a new Special Sealed Box that she had picked from the storage; this box was originally intended for collecting specimens from Dark Space but was now used by Alice to store drinks and side dishes. 0

As they exited the Fortress, the guard pretended not to notice and did not hold Alice accountable for her actions. 0

Rek held the modified explosive Kongming Lantern box, with Alice following closely behind him. 0

The two of them exited the Metal Passage. 0

The cold wind and sand whipped against their bodies as Rek stood atop a Mobile Laser Turret near the exit of the passage. 0

This mobile turret was usually controlled by the Operation Control Room of the Academy Fortress, but it could also automatically lock onto attack targets. 0

Of course, there was an additional Control Console at the entrance turret, large enough for two people to sit inside. 0

This was to prevent the turret's automatic attack mode from being compromised when the Control Room could not spare personnel to operate it, or when encountering Alien Species that could evade Arena targeting. Soldiers could enter the Mobile Laser Turret's control station for manual operation. 0

Sitting inside the turret, Rek watched the rapidly moving Academy Fortress itself. This massive metal fortress looked spectacular when it entered combat mode. 0

In front of the Academy Fortress, two rows of rotating high-speed crushing metal turbines were activated. Coupled with the Fortress's swift movement, even if there were obstacles or a large army of Alien Species ahead, as long as the Fortress did not slow down, it could charge through. 0

Behind the Fortress, three large anti-gravity propulsion accelerators were activated, allowing the Super Soldier Academy to move at speeds comparable to ordinary transport vehicles. 0

The sand in Dark Space was kicked up due to the high-speed movement of the Academy Fortress. 0

Since Rek and Alice were positioned on the right side of the Fortress, they could see the sand swirling behind it. 0

"I want to go check out that Observation Post at the top of the Fortress. This turret is too low, and the view isn't good; it will affect our Kongming Lantern launch," Alice said aloud. 0

"That's fine. Just leave the box with food here and we can come back for it later." 0

"Let's go up and watch your step; the wind outside is a bit strong," Rek said. 0

Rek and Alice activated their Genetic Mechs. Rek carefully strapped the box containing the explosive Kongming Lantern to his back and began to short-distance jump and climb with Alice on the Academy Metal Fortress. 0

Both of them were skilled at controlling their Genetic Mechs, so jumping and climbing on the fast-moving Fortress was not a challenge for them. 0

Rek and Alice quickly reached an Observation Post at the top of the Fortress. 0

Though called an Observation Post, it was essentially a metal house with an open-air platform resembling a Pavilion outside. 0

Alice stood on the metal Pavilion, satisfied, feeling the cold wind of Dark Space blowing against her. 0

"I want to change the future," Alice said as she took off the box containing the Kongming Lantern from Rek's back. She opened the box and used a pen she brought to write her wish on the Kongming Lantern. 0

"Rek, you should write down your wish too. When we release the Kongming Lantern later, our wishes will come true," Alice said, handing the pen to Rek. 0

"I want to live better than in my Previous Life and not die so early," Rek thought for a moment before writing with the pen. 0

"Let's wait a little longer; we'll release the Kongming Lantern when it's later. That way, it will be more effective," Alice suggested as she casually sat down inside the metal Pavilion. 0

Rek also sat down and began to allocate his Mental Energy to control his clone. 0

-- 0

At that moment, the clone had already left the cafeteria and sent a message to Maya through his Wrist Communicator, saying he was almost at the Teacher's Dormitory. 0

Inside the Super Soldier Academy Fortress, it is now evening. 0

Tonight, in order to create a festive atmosphere for the New Year, the Academy Fortress has only turned on a few lighting devices, most of which are set to red light and dim settings. 0

Maya, dressed in a black evening gown, stepped out from the teacher's building. 0

Maya's black evening gown added a touch of allure, making her even more enchanting under the dim lights. 0

Teachers and students near the teacher's building couldn't help but steal glances at her. 0

Those further away couldn't see clearly due to the lighting. 0

"Isn't that the homeroom teacher of Special Class Two, Maya the Sword Demon? 0

Wow! She didn't bring her longsword today. It turns out this Sword Demoness looks so good in a gown instead of her teacher's uniform. Her figure is amazing!" one passing student exclaimed. 0

"Keep it down. Maya has quite a reputation; there are many students and teachers who have been injured by her. By the way, I wonder which teacher had the luck and courage to ask this Sword Demoness out today," another student remarked. 0

"I didn't know Maya was this beautiful. If only I could be her student in Special Class Two." 0

"The Sword Demoness is still a woman. I bet the one who asked Maya out today is a senior teacher from Special Class; it seems that among the students, only the senior teachers have the strongest abilities." 0
