The War God System was greedily devouring energy, and the world of the Time-Space Sanctuary was shattering and fading away with the disappearance of energy.
The Time-Space Sanctuary also sought to save itself, but in the face of the powerful and unique War God System, this mysterious feather, the resistance of the Time-Space Sanctuary was utterly ineffective.
After more than ten minutes, the entire Time-Space Sanctuary, ancient and fragmented, was on the verge of dissipating into the universe.
"Host, as a reward for this absorption of the Time-Space Sanctuary, the System will open a time-space gate to send you and your companions back to the Dark Space World," the voice of the War God System echoed in Rek's mind.
"You've absorbed so much energy, and you're just sending us back? Don't you have any rewards for me?" Rek questioned the War God System in his mind.
"Without the System's assistance, Host would be trapped in this Ancient Temporal Sanctuary for countless years as an energy transmission hub. The energy from this time belongs to saving Host.
According to System rules, no items can be given to Host as experience.
After some time, the System will grant Host a chance to save Host's future. In the future, if Host encounters a fatal outcome, the System will transport Host to that future moment, allowing Host to save himself.
Of course, this future transmission reward is from the last Energy Flower Sea Pool Water reward," the voice of the War God System continued in Rek's mind.
"Alright, I might die in the future. When you send me to that future point in time, make sure it's a good one so I have enough opportunity to save myself," Rek replied to the War God System in his mind.
"Understood, preparing for transmission," said the voice of the War God System.
Then a golden light appeared, and Rek along with Victorious Monkey, Alice, Redhead, and others who were breaking apart in the Time-Space Sanctuary vanished.
When Rek awoke again, he found everyone in his dormitory, all within his Super Soldier Academy room.
"Wake up! You are safely back at the Dark Space's Super Soldier Academy Fortress. It's time for everyone to return home," Rek called out to wake them.
Redhead helped her aunt stand up and looked around the simple room.
"Is this the Dark Space Super Soldier Academy Fortress?" Redhead asked.
"That's right, this is my dormitory," Rek replied.
"How did we get back? Rek, how did you manage to bring us out of the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary's central confinement?" Liquid Robot Hua Tuo inquired.
"I freed myself, and I brought you back. Hua Tuo and Redhead, you probably need to go see the principal of the Super Soldier Academy Fortress to explain the situation.
Even though three companions died during your mission, you did manage to encounter the soldiers and generals of the Star Alliance Military regarding the curse, so it can be considered a successful mission.
I hope you don't mention me and Alice in the Star Alliance Military mission records; just say you returned on your own. Neither Alice nor I have ever been to the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary," Rek stated.
Nearby, Alice, who had regained consciousness, nodded in agreement.
Seeing Rek's demeanor, Hua Tuo understood that pressing further would yield no more information from him.
"Alright, let's consider this as you saving us. I owe you a favor. When I report this mission to the Star Alliance Military, I won't mention you or Alice," Hua Tuo assured.
"Rek, thank you for saving me and my aunt. I won't mention you or Alice in my report either. Once my aunt regains her strength, if you ever come to the Glorious Empire, feel free to find us," Red-Haired Girl said.
After this mission, Redhead appeared much younger, looking only about ten years old.
"Let's go. Redhead, make sure you've communicated well with Hua Tuo. Don't mismatch anything when reporting on the mission," Rek advised.
Redhead nodded and helped her aunt leave the room, while Hua Tuo controlled the Liquid Robot and also exited the room.
Only Alice and Rek were left in the dormitory.
Alice retracted Victorious Monkey and looked at Rek.
"It was the War God System that intervened, right? It's strange; the rules of the War God System state that it cannot help any Host through difficulties. Why did it help you this time? Or did you have a Reward from a previous War God System mission?" Alice asked Rek with confusion.
"I don't have any Reward items. The reason the War God System intervened this time is that it can absorb the energy from the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary. When we acted as a conduit to transmit its energy, those energies passed through my body and activated the greed of the War God System. It couldn't resist and ended up devouring all of the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary. There is no more Ancient Temporal Sanctuary, and all of its energy has been consumed by the War God System," Rek said with a smile.
Hearing Rek's words, Alice also smiled.
"That's right; this behavior completely aligns with the personality of a System that is desperate for energy. I estimate that this time, the War God System absorbed a massive amount of energy and will recover significantly. Let me tell you, I feel like the War God System consuming energy is like an endless pit. I previously found many opportunities to gather a lot of energy for the System, even more than what you gathered this time. However, the War God System hasn't fully recovered yet; it's still in recovery mode. I really don't know what kind of damage this System suffered before to be in such urgent need of energy, and such a large demand at that," Alice whispered to Rek.
"Oh, it doesn't matter; I'm not afraid if the System has demands. I'm just afraid if this System is indifferent and has no desires; that would be truly terrifying," Rek sighed.
"Yes, good luck to you. Since the War God System has absorbed so much energy, I advise you to let your Servant fight more in the virtual world to try to consume some of the reserves of the War God System. Otherwise, your task load will increase in the future, and most of it will be randomly triggered," Alice said to Rek.
Rek nodded, thinking that he had already sent two Servants along with his avatar to the Biohazard World, leaving only the Moon Goddess. This time upon returning, he would find an opportunity to bring the Moon Goddess in as well, allowing her to try healing that head while he guided them to battle against the zombies several times.
It would also give the Moon Goddess more practice in creating the Gene Serum. Although he hadn't used any potions this time, he knew well about the benefits and effects of the Gene Serum. In future missions, these potions could be lifesavers if used properly.
Thinking about the Moon Goddess, Rek remembered that he had promised her he would visit after safely returning from this mission.
"I'm going out for a bit. I'll go to the infirmary and let the Moon Goddess know I'm back. She prepared some Gene Serum for me earlier because she knew I was going on a dangerous mission; she must be quite worried," said Rek.
"You'd better check the display on your Wrist Communicator. Master Muya has contacted us several times already. We've missed many days since we went to the Ancient Temporal Sanctuary. The time there is not equal; it seems somewhat distorted compared to real time," reminded Alice, looking at her own Wrist Communicator.
"Ah! I forgot about that. Let me check the date; it really has been many days. You can make up an excuse and tell Master Muya that we snuck out to hunt some Alien Species in the Dark Space, then returned. We didn't inform the academy; knowing Maya, she will help us cover it up. She probably won't investigate further once she sees us back; she'll just scold us a bit. It's up to you now, Alice. I'm heading over to see the Moon Goddess" said Rek.
Alice sighed with a frown as she watched Rek leave the room. She picked up her Wrist Communicator to contact Master Muya and began crafting a story.
Rek walked to the infirmary and contacted the Moon Goddess.
Before long, the Moon Goddess, dressed in a doctor's coat, rushed out. "How are you? You weren't hurt, were you? I know you were on a dangerous mission, and I've been so worried these days. I didn't dare to contact you, fearing it might disturb you during your task," the Moon Goddess asked Rek.
"I'm fine, no injuries. The mission has been completed successfully, and your Gene Drug worked wonders," Rek replied.
"As long as the drug is effective, that's what matters. I've made some more during my free time these past few days. I'll give them to you next time you have a special mission," the Moon Goddess said.
"Let's go to the cafeteria for something to eat; it's already noon, and I haven't had a meal at your infirmary cafeteria in a while," Rek said with a smile.
"Sure, let's go. My shift just ended," the Moon Goddess replied, leading Rek toward the infirmary cafeteria.
While Rek was enjoying his meal in the cafeteria, he received a message from Alice on his Wrist Communicator.
"Rek! Hurry to Special Class Two classroom; Maya is in danger," Alice's message read.
After reading it, Rek felt strange. In the Super Soldier Academy, it was surprising that Master Muya could also be in danger. Given Maya's strength, it would be difficult for her to encounter any rival Alien Species even in Dark Space, let alone within the academy.
However, Alice's message was followed by a series of exclamation marks. From what Rek had learned about Alice recently, when she used exclamation marks in her communication, it indicated an urgent situation. The presence of multiple exclamation marks suggested that this was extremely dangerous—potentially life-threatening.
"Moon Goddess, I have to leave for something urgent. Enjoy your meal; I'll come find you next time," Rek said.
"Okay, you're leaving right after arriving. Remember to send me messages when you have time and stay safe," the Moon Goddess replied.
Rek left the infirmary cafeteria and quickly ran toward the Special Class Two classroom.
Rek also used Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation to increase his speed.
Upon running into the Special Class Two classroom, Rek found the door tightly shut. He burst in and saw Alice and Maya hiding behind a metal table, while Victorious Monkey was out, gripping a Metal Pipe and keeping watch of their surroundings.
Inside the Special Class Two classroom, the Chairs were all overturned, some even severely deformed. Rek noticed that some Chairs had holes burned through them by lasers.
“Quick, hide! Close the door tightly. The enemy is invisible in the room; don’t expose too much of your body,” Alice urged Rek.
After hearing this, Rek kicked the door shut with force.
Using his Genetic Mech, Rek scanned the area and found no signs of life.
“The incoming enemy isn’t biological?” Rek asked tentatively.
“It seems they’re not human. They can shapeshift and have high-tech weapons; they’re more like robots,” Maya replied, her right arm already injured and wrapped in a bandage.
Looking at Rek, Alice said, “They resemble Liquid Robots, but they are much stronger than any Liquid Robot I know and possess cloaking abilities.”
“Victorious Monkey, you take one direction, and I’ll take the other. Let’s try to hit every corner of the room. Alice, protect the injured Master Muya,” Rek instructed.
Then, Rek and Victorious Monkey, wielding their weapons, began to swing them around in the room.
With a loud “bang!”, Rek turned to look at Victorious Monkey, who had revealed a silver liquid humanoid silhouette after being struck, losing its cloaking ability.
However, despite the fierce blows from the monkey’s Metal Pipe, it only managed to expose the hidden assassin without killing it.
The revealed humanoid silhouette had its waist twisted from the earlier blow by Victorious Monkey, but it quickly began to recover.
A silhouette of a Liquid Silver Metal Figure appeared before Rek and the others. Just as Rek was preparing to strike this Liquid Robot with the Demon Blade, the Liquid Robot glanced at Rek and unexpectedly jumped out of the window, fleeing outdoors and leaving the classroom.
"This Liquid Robot is too elusive. It seems we Genetic Mechs need to upgrade our scanning capabilities. Next time, I can't just enhance our biological scanning abilities; I also need to improve the Genetic Mech's scanning function for mechanical bodies," Rek sighed.
"Fortunately, ever since I contacted you, this Liquid Robot has hidden its body and hasn't attacked. It seems that when this Liquid Robot is invisible, it can't attack either; otherwise, it would be much harder to deal with," Alice remarked.
"This Liquid Robot appears to be here to kill me. It's strange; when did this world have Liquid Robots? And how did one infiltrate the Academy Fortress? I need to report this to the Yin Yang Principal and let them be more cautious," Maya said, supporting her injured left arm.
"We'll go with you. Do you know why this Liquid Robot wants to kill you? Master Muya, has anything happened at the Super Soldier Academy Fortress while we were away?" Rek asked.
"Nothing has happened. Next time, you and Alice must not sneak into Dark Space again; it's too dangerous. This time, thanks to Victorious Monkey discovering it early, or else I would have been hit in the head by that robot's laser.
When this Liquid Robot came, it transformed into your appearance and even told me not to use the Savior Radio anymore and not to act as a savior to save humanity, claiming that humanity's future belongs to robots," Moon Goddess explained.
Alice felt somewhat puzzled after hearing this, and Rek was also unsure about where this Liquid Robot came from.
"Let's accompany you to the Principal's Office. You're injured now, and this unknown Liquid Robot can still turn invisible; it's too dangerous for you to be alone," Rek suggested.
Maya nodded in agreement.
Then Rek and Alice took Victorious Monkey along with them as they accompanied Maya to the Principal's Office.
