Rek was walking in the Underground Bunker when suddenly he heard the frantic barking of dogs from behind, followed by the sounds of various weapons firing.
"Not good, the robots are coming in!" someone shouted inside the Underground Shelter, running out with a weapon in hand.
"Hurry, this time it's the High-Fidelity Combat Robot. Their firepower is strong. Kids and elderly, quickly evacuate through the reserved exit. The men, follow me and hold them off!" a strong man shouted while holding a Machine Gun in the underground passage.
Chaos erupted in the underground passage as people's expressions varied. Some elderly individuals chose to stay and wait for death, unwilling to leave.
Some women with children attempted to retreat, while several armed middle-aged men and youths rushed toward the entrance of the Underground Shelter.
After considering his options, Rek realized that in this narrow Underground Shelter, he wouldn't be able to escape faster than the High-Fidelity Robot could hunt him down. Since he had just arrived in this space, he decided to see how powerful the robot really was.
Rek turned around and quickly walked toward the entrance of the Underground Shelter.
Behind some Rock Shelters, dozens of people were firing at a Middle-Aged Man outside.
Rek observed that this humanoid robot was being hit by numerous weapons, its skin already revealing a Metal Skeleton. However, this Metal Skeleton had strong defenses, and the weapons available to the humans inside the Underground Shelter were too weak to destroy it easily.
The robot was wielding a large Machine Gun, continuously spraying bullets at the humans.
The weapons of the human guards inside the Underground Shelter could only damage its synthetic skin, causing it to stagger back a few steps but failing to kill it.
Seeing that this approach wasn't working, Rek noted that within just ten seconds, several humans had already been injured or even killed.
After assessing the strength of this High-Fidelity Robot, he felt confident that he could eliminate it.
“Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation!” Rek activated his Genetic Mech, fully armoring himself. Fortunately, the War God System allowed his soul to traverse into this world, and his body here was identical to that of his original world along with his Genetic Mech.
Rek summoned his Demon Blade and charged toward the approaching High-Fidelity Robot that was nearing the human defensive position.
"Oh my god, it's a Genetic Mecha Warrior! We're saved!" one of the humans in the position exclaimed.
"This city still has not been killed by robots, nor has it entered the Human Defense Main Base with the Genetic Mecha Warrior. That's great."
"Hurry, provide cover for the Genetic Mecha Warrior; we won't have to die today!"
"Thank goodness! It's been years since we've seen a Genetic Mecha Warrior appear in our city." The guards inside the Underground Shelter discussed, their fighting spirit instantly boosted. Even those humans who had been injured by the High-Fidelity Robot picked up their weapons and began shooting at the High-Fidelity Robot.
Fortunately, these human guards had accurate shooting skills. Rek initially worried about being hit by grenades but soon realized that they were all sharpshooters. After years of battling robots, their marksmanship had improved significantly; the potential of humans is indeed great when it comes to survival.
Rek wielded the Demon Blade and quickly charged in front of the High-Fidelity Combat Robot. With a sharp downward slash of the Demon Blade, he directly severed the Machine Gun from the High-Fidelity Robot's grasp.
The High-Fidelity Robot, with its red eyes, glanced at the broken Machine Gun and casually discarded it before swiftly raising its fists to strike at Rek.
Rek parried with the Demon Blade but had to step back to stabilize himself.
The attack power and speed of this High-Fidelity Combat Robot were surprisingly strong. If it were an ordinary human, that punch would likely have crushed them.
Rek swung the Demon Blade and quickly struck at the High-Fidelity Robot's arm. Then, he sidestepped and moved behind the High-Fidelity Robot, fiercely swinging the Demon Blade towards its neck.
The High-Fidelity Robot had no time to evade; its metal neck met Rek's Demon Blade, and its mechanical head was severed cleanly.
The metal head rolled on the ground, still making sounds as it continued to function for a moment.
Rek looked at the body of the High-Fidelity Robot without a head, revealing a dense array of circuits and an alloy Metal Skeleton inside.
"It seems that the decapitation technique I practiced before works well against robots too," Rek thought to himself as he kicked over the headless High-Fidelity Robot.
The humans in the cave defense position watched in astonishment as Rek managed to take down such a powerful combat High-Fidelity Robot in just a few seconds.
This High-Fidelity Robot was considered one of the more difficult combat machines to kill, second only to the Liquid Robot.
"Impressive!"
"Hero, the bravery of the Genetic Mecha Warrior!"
"That's amazing! The swordsmanship was so fast I could barely see it, even stronger than what I knew about the Genetic Mecha Warrior."
A crowd of people marveled and cheered as they gathered around Rek, who was wearing the Genetic Mech, and the High-Fidelity Combat Robot that had its head smashed by Rek.
Some individuals even poked the High-Fidelity Robot's head and body with a Metal Pipe.
Sparks flew from the High-Fidelity Robot's head and torso. After a few minutes, the robot closed its eyes, began to smoke, and stopped moving.
"Warrior, what should we do with this High-Fidelity Robot?" a burly man asked Rek.
"You all can decide what to do," Rek replied as he activated the Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation state.
The people inside the Underground Bunker, who had previously evacuated, returned to see the legendary Genetic Mecha Warrior and the corpse of the dead High-Fidelity Robot.
"You're so young! Where did you come from? Are you from our city? Will you stay in our city?" a girl asked Rek.
"I passed through this city. I'm planning to go to humanity's strongest existing force to join them in fighting against the robots. Do you know where the strongest human force is located?" Rek said.
"You plan to join the Rebel Organization. The Rebel Organization is humanity's strongest force, but no outsiders know its location," the girl replied after thinking for a moment.
A burly man stepped forward and said, "Hero, why don't you stay in our city? We need strong individuals like you to protect us."
Rek thought for a moment and shook his head. "Only by joining humanity's strongest force can I have more opportunities to fight against the Robot Legion and potentially defeat them, allowing humanity to gain freedom and liberation.
My goal is to join the most powerful human force, not for myself, but to gain more chances for combat and contribute my strength to eliminate the Robot Legion as soon as possible, allowing humanity to reclaim its dominance on Earth," Rek stated with righteous determination.
"Alright!"
"Truly a Genetic Mecha Warrior; they are indeed different from what we imagined."
"Then you should stay in our city for a few days. Recently, the Robot Legion has been blocking the area, and it will be difficult for you to go out alone. I'm not questioning your abilities, but it's not worth the risk of facing a large group of robotic forces by yourself. After a few days, when these robots have withdrawn, you can leave."
"Yes, we have also been trying to find external contacts from the Rebel Organization in the past few days to arrange a meeting with you."
A group of people surrounded Rek, each speaking in turn.
Rek was then escorted by these people back underground. Upon entering the underground entrance, Rek saw a large dog—the same one from before the entrance. The dog had not died; it was clearly brought into the Underground Bunker by the guards at the first opportunity.
Rek was taken into a room within the Underground Bunker, where three individuals who appeared to be the highest leaders of this base—a senior man and two middle-aged individuals, one male and one female—were present to chat with Rek.
Some canned food and other provisions were brought out. Looking at these simple meals, Rek estimated that this food was probably the best available in the Underground Shelter. The people inside the Underground Shelter likely had very basic rations and didn't even have access to such simple food.
Rek politely ate a little and casually conversed with the three leaders.
In the following days, Rek stayed in this city and lived quite comfortably. The Robot Legion only attacked the city on Rek's first day there before retreating to a distance. Occasionally, a few flying machines would come to the city for targeted strikes.
Rek did not attempt to attack the flying machines; he knew that even if he shot down one of them, it would not change the overall situation.
After five or six days, Rek began to understand the plight of humanity in this world. During the robot rebellion, they quickly hunted down a large number of Genetic Mecha Warriors, weakening human resistance. Subsequently, large numbers of robotic forces emerged to attack human armies.
Among the human troops, there were hidden robots conducting internal strikes.
In a short time, the regular human army was defeated by the Robot Legion, which then began slaughtering humans for an entire year.
It was only in recent years that they started capturing surviving humans as well; what happened to those captured remained unknown.
Rek then found the elderly leader responsible for this city and informed him of his intention to leave.
The old man tried to persuade Rek to stay but realized it was ineffective and had no choice but to let him go. He arranged for some food and water for Rek.
This time, Rek did not hesitate; he accepted the provisions and learned from the old man about rumors of contacts from the Rebel Organization that had surfaced about a month ago in a nearby city.
After confirming the location, Rek began to walk away from the city.
In this city, fuel was more precious than food. Although Rek knew that if he asked for it, he could probably get some, it was still better to use Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation for movement. After all, it wasn't slow, just a bit more tiring.
Soon, Rek left the city with the farewell of its people, heading towards another city in the distance.
Rek moved quickly while in Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation.
At night, Rek found a large rock to rest under and started walking again at dawn.
Along the way, Rek unexpectedly encountered a small group resembling a criminal gang. They attacked him on Hover Motorcycles, armed and attempting to surround him.
However, Rek in Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation was not someone these few could handle.
Instead, Rek seized a Hover Motorcycle from them along with some fuel, food, and water.
After eliminating the group of humans, Rek took off on the Hover Motorcycle, heading towards the distant city.
Without needing to walk anymore, driving the Hover Motorcycle significantly increased Rek's speed.
Two days later, Rek arrived at the city. This time he did not use Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation but simply rode his Hover Motorcycle into the city.
This city was much stronger than the one Rek had visited before; at least some heavy artillery was visible at the city's outer entrance.
Over the next few days, Rek tried to gather information and exchanged details with people in this city. He learned that there was indeed an external contact person for a Rebel Organization who had previously stayed in this city but had unfortunately already left. It was said that they headed towards a Military Laboratory, likely hoping to find technology and weapons to combat robots there.
After gathering the location details, Rek began driving his Hover Motorcycle towards the laboratory.
A week later, Rek reached the outskirts of this Military Laboratory or rather a Military Base.
However, contrary to what people had said before, this laboratory was not abandoned; it was actively in use. Rek could see some robots moving around outside the laboratory.
"This Military Laboratory has actually been occupied by robots, and they are still developing something," Rek thought to himself as he carefully parked the Hover Motorcycle at a distance.
As soon as Rek stepped off the Hover Motorcycle, a cold dagger appeared at the back of his neck.
"Don't resist. Slowly turn around, drop your weapon, and tell me how you know about this laboratory and what you're doing here," a girl's voice came from behind Rek.
"I don't have any weapons in my hands," Rek replied, slowly turning around to see an eighteen or nineteen-year-old girl with short hair, dressed in leather, holding a dagger pointed at his neck.
"What are you doing here?" the girl asked Rek, noticing that he was unarmed and lowering her guard slightly.
"I want to join the Rebel Organization. I heard that a contact from the Rebel Organization came here before, so I thought I'd try my luck," Rek said.
"Joining the Rebel Organization isn't something just anyone can do!" The girl proudly responded upon hearing Rek's words.
"What are the requirements to join, or what abilities are needed to become part of the Rebel Organization?" Rek asked.
"Only those with great strength or outstanding talent in a specific field can join. Ordinary people are not accepted into the Rebel Organization, at most they can only be external personnel and cannot enter the inner circle of the Rebel Organization," the Short-Haired Girl explained.
"You must be a contact for the Rebel Organization, knowing so much detail," Rek said to the Short-Haired Girl.
"That's right, I am part of the Rebel Organization, but I'm not an external contact. I'm a member of the combat team within the Rebel Organization. I came to this Base Laboratory on a mission," the Short-Haired Girl said as she sheathed her dagger.
