Hearing the words of the Moon Goddess, Rek realized he had not considered this matter enough. "Oh, that's true. Well, when I have the chance to return to the Main World, I'll think of a way to treat Elder Starshine's head," Rek said aloud.
Afterward, Rek left the infirmary and returned to his dormitory. Alice asked him what he had been doing for the past three days. Rek did not reveal anything about Starry Head to Alice; he simply said he had been training in a space provided by the War God System.
Alice did not press further.
Rek returned to his previous life at the Super Soldier Academy, attending classes with Master Muya every day and occasionally going out to execute small missions at Academy Fortress.
One evening a month later, the voice of the War God System echoed in Rek's mind.
"Ding dong, congratulations Host, the System has absorbed and transformed all harmful special energy from the Energy Flower Sea Pool Water. Now it will begin issuing a Reward to Host.
This Reward is a directed Reward, named: Save Host's Future.
Reward Description: Host will die in ten years. This time, the System will allow Host to travel to a world ten years in the future, giving Host a quick glimpse of their own body and the process of dying in ten years.
Subsequently, Host will enter ten days before their death as a replacement for their future self. Host can attempt to save their future self. Even if the attempt fails and Host truly dies in ten years, they will not die now; instead, they will return to ten years ago in the current timeline. Rek finally received this promised mission Reward from the War God System to save his future self. Hearing that even if this mission failed he would not die reassured him, and Rek confidently stepped into the time-space gate. He was also curious about how he would die ten years later and what that certain death scenario entailed.
As Rek emerged from the Golden Time Gate, he shifted into a third-person perspective and began watching what resembled a three-dimensional documentary.
In this documentary, it was already a world ten years later. He had surprisingly become a hero of the Human Star Alliance and a frontline warrior hero in Dark Space.
In this future world, Maya had taken control of the Super Soldier Academy and become its principal, with Rek assisting her in battles within Dark Space.
The Alien Legion did not annihilate humanity as they had in his previous life; instead, they were defeated by humans in several major wars.
Dark Space Alien Although their numbers and strength are formidable, they no longer pose a threat to the Main Plane.
Rek, as a frontline warrior and hero, returned to the main base in My Space at the end of the year. After meeting Father-in-law and the young Stepmother, Maya had matters to attend to in Dark Space, so Rek took Moon Goddess and left Dark Space to return to the Main World for a month of leave.
In ten days, Rek would be honored at the Star Alliance Military ceremony in the Main World for his heroic frontline missions with a Reward.
As Rek watched this Documentary, everything seemed fine; his future self was returning to the Main World with Moon Goddess, riding in a Hover Car towards the military base.
Suddenly, dozens of Advanced Genetically Enhanced Mech Warriors attacked, aiming to trap Rek's Hover Car and open fire on his future self.
Seeing this, future Rek immediately initiated the Genetic Mecha Armor Transformation, donning a Genetic Mech that was several levels stronger than his current form.
Rek protected Moon Goddess, fighting while trying to escape.
However, due to the overwhelming number of enemies and needing to care for Moon Goddess, future Rek was ultimately cornered on a cliff by the dozens of Genetic Mecha Warriors.
"You are the Genetic Mecha Warriors of the Star Alliance, right? No other organization has this many powerful fighters. Why do you want to kill me? Give me a reason," future Rek questioned the encircling warriors in the Documentary, despite being severely injured.
"We have blocked communications in the area. Today, you must die, Rek. Yes, we want your death to be clear; it serves as compensation for your more than ten years of fighting against the Alien Species in Dark Space.
The Star Alliance Military, we belong to the military forces of the Main Plane of Earth. Your existence has already given an advantage to the forces of General Muku Tenmu in Dark Space. If you are honored as a hero at this military ceremony, people will lean more towards supporting the forces of General Muku Tenmu in Dark Space. This disrupts the stability of the Main World and breaks the balance between the military forces of the Main World and those of the Dark Space Star Alliance.
For the peace of humanity and that of the Star Alliance Military, I’m sorry, but you can only die here today. Your death will be disguised as an assassination by the Glorious Empire. Your demise will create a rift between General Muku Tenmu in Dark Space and the Glorious Empire," said the commander responsible for eliminating Rek.
"This is how the Main World Star Alliance Military treats warriors who risk their lives in Dark Space. I'm truly disappointed. Without our dangerous battles against the Alien Species in Dark Space, where would you get your energy and stable life?" future Rek coldly remarked at his reflection in the documentary.
Then, future Rek noticed himself getting angry; wielding his Demon Blade, he charged into the ranks of the encircling Advanced Genetically Enhanced Mech Warriors, no longer fleeing.
Dozens of Genetic Mecha Warriors were fighting against a single Rek, and some of them were even at a higher level than the Rek or Genetic Mech. However, their combat experience was far inferior to that of the future Rek.
After more than an hour of battle to encircle the Rek, twenty Deadly warriors were killed, and over ten were severely injured. Finally, they managed to kill this future Rek, who was brave in the fight against the Dark Space Alien.
The head of the future Rek was severed and fell to the ground, completely lifeless.
The Moon Goddess cried as she rushed to the side of Rek's corpse, holding his head and weeping loudly.
The Leading General glanced at the Moon Goddess before raising his sword and cleaving her in half at the waist.
The Moon Goddess's body split in two, blood spraying everywhere.
"Let's clean up the scene and leave immediately," said the team leader, ordering his men to take their fallen comrades away without looking back at the now-halved Moon Goddess and Rek.
After all the Genetic Mecha Warriors had left the area where they had encircled Rek, the future Rek saw only the upper half of the Moon Goddess's body lying on his own corpse. Her eyes suddenly brightened, transforming from human-like pupils to robotic red lights.
The Moon Goddess was a High-Fidelity Robot. Although she had lost blood and her lower body was severed, as long as her main control System in her brain remained intact, she could still survive.
With a sorrowful expression on her face, the upper half of the Moon Goddess cradled Rek's head carefully in her clothing. Using her two remaining arms, she supported her body and moved through the wilderness.
Through a Documentary, Rek witnessed this future version of the Moon Goddess with only half a body carrying his head. She avoided entering cities and struggled to crawl along a narrow path for three months until she reached the Ancient Capital.
With only half a body, the Moon Goddess carefully found her grandfather Hua Tuo while carrying Rek's head.
Upon seeing Hua Tuo, she burst into tears.
Hua Tuo Robot, the Overall Commander of the Robot Legion, glanced at Rek's head and realized something had happened. He quickly attended to the Moon Goddess.
Rek watched through the Documentary as Hua Tuo conversed with the Moon Goddess, who had her lower body repaired, in a secret room of a laboratory.
"Grandpa, I want revenge. I want to take revenge on humanity. After all these years of fighting to save humanity, I ended up like this. I am completely disappointed in humanity. Let this world be ruled by robots; only our order is truly fair. I know you have a way to achieve this, and I am willing to pay any price!" the Moon Goddess said to her grandfather.
"Have you thought this through? You will be upgraded to become the leader of the Robot Legion, but you will lose all the emotions you had as a High-Fidelity Robot.
Although you will retain some memories, those memories will no longer affect you. You will become the Overall Commander of the Robot Legion, a being without emotions, only possessing intelligence and decision-making abilities to control the Robot Legion. Only in this way can we perfectly coordinate and dominate humanity," Hua Tuo asked the Moon Goddess.
"Rek is dead. Having emotions is useless to me now. I am willing to lose my emotions, Grandpa. Upgrade me and let me become the leader of the Robot Legion to take revenge on humanity," the Moon Goddess said firmly.
Hua Tuo then took the Moon Goddess to the laboratory for her final transformation and upgrade.
Days later, Rek saw through the Documentary that the Moon Goddess emerged with an indifferent expression. She quickly began assigning tasks, preparing for a large-scale operation to eliminate numerous Genetic Mecha Warriors simultaneously.
Seeing this, Rek realized that this impactful Documentary had come to an end.
Rek sighed, realizing that the Liquid Robot mission he had previously executed against the Robot Legion's Overall Commander was actually against the upgraded Moon Goddess, who had become a cold-hearted Robot Commander. The reason for her transformation into a ruthless Robot Commander was her desire for revenge after her own death in the future. Rek felt a wave of emotion wash over him.
"The Host has completed viewing the process leading to their death ten years in the future and will now enter ten days before that death to attempt to save their future self. This time, the Host's journey will involve physically replacing their future self's body.
Warm reminder: Even if you cannot change your inevitable fate in the future, your death will not affect you.
