Rek felt a sense of control over his body, no longer viewing things from a third-person perspective. He found himself in a conference room at the Sanctuary Base in Dark Space.
General Muku Tenmu and Aunt Xue were seated in the upper chairs of the operations meeting room, while he and Maya occupied the lower seats.
"Rek, your performance over the years has truly impressed both me and Tenmu. It seems that when you graduated a few years ago, Tenmu didn't allow you to marry Xiaoya. That was quite a mistake; fortunately, Xiaoya was determined to fight for it," Aunt Xue said with a smile.
"Stepmother, it's been so long; let's not bring it up again," Maya said shyly from her seat beside him.
Aunt Xue chuckled but remained silent afterward.
General Muku Tenmu spoke to Rek, saying, "Rek, I won't be attending this military ceremony in the Main World. Things are too busy here in Dark Space. Since you're going there for a month of vacation, you might as well spend a few days attending that boring military ceremony. It would also help you make an appearance in front of the media, which could benefit your future career in the Star Alliance Military."
Rek looked at everyone and thought that even if he expressed his desire not to go now, he wouldn't find a good excuse. If he didn't attend, he would likely be ambushed shortly after.
"Alright, I'll go back. However, I want to bring my comrades and subordinates from the Dark Space Super Soldier Academy with me to participate in this ceremony and broaden their horizons. They will all be on vacation for a month in the Main World anyway. If there are any Genetic Mecha Warriors on leave at Sanctuary Base who want to join us, I will take them along as well," Rek said, considering that in ten days he might be intercepted. He thought it wise to bring back a group of formidable frontline soldiers to deter anyone who might dare to ambush him.
Upon hearing Rek's words, General Muku Tenmu pondered for a moment and nodded in agreement. "That's a good idea. After all, not many of your subordinates have attended a military ceremony before. Taking them along will give them some valuable experience and likely enhance their respect for you as their commander."
With this matter settled, Rek chatted casually with General Muku Tenmu and the others.
That evening, Rek led a hundred-member Genetic Mech combat team aboard a metal Maglev Train heading to the Main World. The Moon Goddess accompanied Rek while his wife Maya had other matters to attend to; she only came to see him off and reminded him to stay safe while also asking him to bring back some gifts from the Main World.
Rek nodded in agreement, looking at the gentle side of Maya. He recalled the female class leader from Biohazard World, who was modeled after Maya.
Rek led a hundred people aboard the Metal Circular Rail Train back to the Main World, and at the Military Base, he did not hold back, directly borrowing the best combat equipment and tanks from the Military Base to arm his subordinates.
The personnel at the Military Base, seeing Rek, the son-in-law of the Dark Space Overall Commander and a prominent leader, did not dare to be negligent.
Rek rode in a high-end Hover Tank, with only himself and the Moon Goddess in the cabin while other soldiers drove various weaponized vehicles outside, heading towards the military base of the Star Alliance Military on the Main Plane of Earth.
"Rek, I feel like you've been acting a bit strange since yesterday. But I can't quite put my finger on what's odd," the Moon Goddess asked Rek.
"It's nothing. Moon Goddess, you're overthinking it. It's just that after returning to the Main World, I feel a bit more relaxed. We have a month here; where do you want to go?" Rek asked the Moon Goddess.
"I'll go wherever you go. But if possible, I'd like to visit the Ancient Capital. I haven't seen my grandfather in years," the Moon Goddess replied.
"Alright. By the way, remember ten years ago when we were in the infirmary at Super Soldier Academy? I took you to a Biohazard World to treat something called Starry Elder's head. Do you remember how we dealt with that head afterward? We healed it and sent it back to the Main World," Rek asked the Moon Goddess.
"Let me think... I almost forgot until you mentioned it. Ten years ago, we really did go to a Biohazard World to treat a head—a Transmutation head. However, after we entered Dark Space due to various circumstances, we didn't pay any more attention to it.
It seems like you slowed down time in that world; it probably has only been ten days there. I remember you set it so that one year there equals one day here in reality. So that way, they wouldn't be anxious," the Moon Goddess said to Rek.
After hearing this, Rek felt relieved. It seemed that those from Star Alliance Military who were trying to assassinate him were not his subordinate Elder Starshine's head; that follower was still within his Biohazard World. Otherwise, if it were Elder Starshine's head after treatment controlling Star Alliance Military forces, Rek felt he would undoubtedly perish in this future.
"In these few days, as we pass through big cities, we can visit some advanced laboratories. Afterward, I'll rent a lab for a day or two; can you restore this Elder Starshine's head back to human form?" Rek asked the Moon Goddess.
"Sure, as long as the equipment is complete, I can restore Elder Starshine's head in just a few hours and make him disguise as a human. Without a detailed inspection, as long as he doesn't think about exposing himself, no one will be able to tell that he is Alien Species.
I devised this surgical restoration plan ten years ago, and after ten years my medical skills have improved significantly. It will definitely be more perfect than what I did back then," Moon Goddess assured, patting her chest.
Later, while passing through a city of the Star Alliance Military, Rek borrowed the research laboratory from the largest hospital in the city.
With Rek making an appearance and leading over a hundred battle-hardened warriors, the hospital executives dared not refuse. They didn't even negotiate terms; they simply allowed Rek to use it freely, as long as he didn't break anything.
Rek instructed his hundred subordinates to guard the surroundings of the hospital and remain vigilant. After all, the scene of being ambushed previously made Rek cautious.
Then, Rek took Moon Goddess into the laboratory. After confirming that the equipment was sufficient, Rek shut down all surveillance devices in the lab and removed Elder Starshine's head.
A Headless Abomination floated in front of Rek and Moon Goddess.
Once again regaining the appearance of Alien Species, the Starry Head floated in the air and still felt somewhat out of place as it looked at Rek and Moon Goddess.
"Starry Glory, we have returned to the Main Plane of Earth, within the time-space controlled by the Star Alliance Military. The laboratory and operating room are ready. Now let Moon Goddess perform the surgery on you; just relax," Rek said to the head.
