“Xinran, I found you an assistant, Wu Jie,” Jerry led a somewhat shy young girl into Xinran's lounge.
Because she had pushed Chen Dao's drama, Xinran initially thought she would have some downtime, but unexpectedly, an advertiser contacted Jerry right away to ask her to shoot an advertisement. It seems that being the girlfriend of a superstar still has its advantages.
“Wu Jie, hello. You can just call me Xinran from now on.” Xinran slightly turned to look at Wu Jie. She was such a pure-looking girl, seemingly not even twenty years old, with a fair face and a frail little body, exuding an air of needing protection. Xinran was curious about why Jerry chose her as an assistant.
As far as she knew, Fan Jierui, this manager, was even more demanding than she was as a star. The previous assistant had resigned due to the immense pressure and the fact that she simply couldn't afford to pay her more. Since then, Xinran hadn't hired another assistant, thinking that it didn't really matter whether she had one or not. Recently, however, due to Augus's influence, her workload had been increasing, prompting Jerry to arrange for another assistant. She had no objections and left everything to him, but he ended up hiring such a young girl—wasn't that strange?
“Sister Xinran, I will work very hard for you and absolutely won't slack off!”
“My requirements aren't strict; it's okay even if you do slack off.” Watching Wu Jie make a solemn promise and bow deeply at a ninety-degree angle made Xinran unable to hold back her laughter. This little girl was so serious; it was adorable.
“Sister Xinran, you are so nice!” Wu Jie said earnestly to Xinran.
“Is that all it takes to win you over? Be careful; I might end up making you my servant later!” Xinran teased.

“Summer, I heard you're going to collaborate with Augus on 'Diamond Absolute Love.' Is that true?”
“There are rumors saying you pushed Gujialan out of the role and took over as the female lead. Is that the case?”
“Now that Gujialan has been sidelined by you, do you think she'll hold a grudge? You only became popular because of your relationship with Augus; what do you think about that?”
Just finishing work, Xinran walked out of the advertising set with Wu Jie, waiting for Jerry to bring the car over. Unexpectedly, they were surrounded by a group of paparazzi, and the questions they asked left her bewildered. Where did they hear these things? Why did she, the person involved, clearly remember that she had repeatedly turned down the role in "Diamond Absolute Love"?
"Summer, say a few words! Do you think you would play the female lead better than Gujialan? It’s your first time partnering with Augus as a couple; will you feel uncomfortable?"
One paparazzo thrust a microphone in front of Xinran, asking questions that seemed designed to stir up trouble. She had no choice but to take the mic and calmly responded, "I’m sorry everyone, I don’t know where you got your information. I can only say that I never said I would be collaborating with Augus on 'Diamond Absolute Love' as a couple, nor do I know who spread the rumor that I would replace Gujialan as the female lead. It’s really nonsense. Excuse me, my car has arrived..."
With Wu Jie and Jerry's help, Xinran successfully avoided the paparazzi's entanglement and got into the car. Even after driving quite a distance, they noticed that there were still paparazzi cars following them at a close distance.
"Sister Xinran, being a star is really exhausting!" Wu Jie remarked while straightening out her wrinkled clothes after breaking through the crowd.
"But just thinking about the adoration and glory that comes with fame makes all the exhaustion and pain worthwhile..." Xinran sat in the back seat of the car, glanced back at the paparazzi cars behind them, sighed helplessly, and continued, "Jerry, what on earth is going on? Why are the paparazzi suddenly saying this? Who leaked this news? Why am I inexplicably becoming a target?"
"Well... maybe you should ask your boyfriend. I think he knows what's going on!" Jerry replied with a smile while skillfully turning the steering wheel. He was also quite curious about what prompted Augus to suddenly take on this idol drama that Xinran had repeatedly declined and to tell the media that he would be playing a couple with her, which led all the paparazzi to chase after Xinran, leaving her almost unable to react!
"What? Is Augus behind this?" Hearing Jerry's words, Xinran suddenly shouted!
