“Xinran, you actually went to have lunch while I was filming. Your boyfriend is still hungry!” Seeing Xinran walk into the set with Dong Shan Zhong, Augus wore a smile that hinted at something ambiguous as he approached and wrapped his arm around Xinran's shoulder, teasing her.
“Xinran, this must be your boyfriend Augus, right? Since we have the chance to meet today, why don’t we introduce ourselves?” Dong Shan Zhong said lightly from behind Xinran, his expression unchanged.
“Sure, it’s a rare opportunity!” Xinran smiled gracefully and introduced the two men. Both men shook hands and nodded politely; she couldn’t tell if there was any underlying tension between them. Augus wouldn’t compete with Dong Shan Zhong in secret because their relationship was just a facade; without genuine feelings, nothing would reflect from the heart. As for Dong Shan Zhong, she couldn’t see through him—either he was too good at hiding his feelings or perhaps he didn’t like her that much after all!
“Xinran, have you had lunch? The director asked me to tell you that we’ll be finishing the scenes we didn’t complete this morning soon. You should take a look at the script!”
At that moment, the Assistant Director came over to inform Xinran. She nodded in acknowledgment and then turned to Augus, saying, “We’re about to start working again. Do you want to grab something to eat? If a big star gets too hungry, many people will be worried!”
“Will you be worried?” Augus provocatively glanced at Dong Shan Zhong, slightly lowering his head so his face was close to Xinran's as he asked teasingly. Dong Shan Zhong approached Xinran under that identity, but once he successfully took her away from Augus, he would surely revert back to being Mu Shaosi and coldly discard her. That would be the real Mu Shaosi; after all, this wasn’t Japan—Dong Shan Zhong only used that identity there.
From their interaction, it was clear that Dong Shan Zhong was close to winning Xinran’s heart; he was just one step away. After spending time with Summer, Augus had to admit that this woman was different from those he had previously dated under pretenses. She possessed a unique charm. However, Dong Shan Zhong’s allure was not ordinary either. If he didn’t make a move, it would be fine; but once he did, could any woman truly resist falling for him? Probably very few could. He didn’t know how deeply Summer would fall; now he hesitated a bit and hoped she wouldn’t get too deep into it. That way, removing the thorn of love later wouldn’t be too difficult!
“It hurts more than anyone else! I can’t join you for lunch now. If you can hold on, I’ll accompany you after work!” Xinran frowned at Augus’s deliberate flirtation; he was doing it for Dong Shan Zhong’s benefit, so she didn’t need to react—just observing coldly was enough since she wouldn’t lose anything.
“Well then, shouldn’t you not worry about your suitor behind you?” Augus chuckled softly.
“Don’t say that randomly; he’s an investor in this production, not my suitor!”
“Isn’t that a bit too obvious? Little Xinran, you don’t think I can’t see the affection in his eyes when he looks at you as your boyfriend, do you?”
“I think Xinran doesn’t need to hide it; I am indeed her suitor. However, she is still your girlfriend for now. If you decide to step aside, I would be more than happy to take your place,” Dong Shan Zhong said coldly with his arms crossed.
"I can see that you really hope I would step aside, but it took me so long to find a woman who fits me so well. It's not in my nature to let go easily. I'm curious about what methods you plan to use to win her over."
"Is that enough? If you want to continue waiting until we finish, that's fine. The three of us can go out for dinner together!" Xinran quietly listened to the two men, who seemed like rivals, and after a moment, she tiptoed closer to Augus and whispered in his ear.
Dong Shan Zhong narrowed his eyes slightly at this scene.
"Alright, I naturally have to listen to my girlfriend's orders. Let's get back to work. Oh, great investor, I sincerely invite you to watch our afternoon shoot, but please don't be too jealous; the afternoon's filming will be a bed scene between Xinran and me!"
"I'm honored, but it's just acting; I won't mind."
"Mr. Dong Shan, please don't take it too personally. You can discuss any filming issues with the director; he is in the studio." With that, Xinran pulled Augus away. Initially, she hoped to see the two of them clash, but now that it had come to this point, she didn't feel very pleased. She felt uncomfortable, but she wasn't sure why or which side she leaned towards...
At this moment, she truly felt lost!
