Under the stimulation of the electric shock, Xinran's body was jolted off the operating table... falling down, then jolted up again... falling down...
Mu Shaosi leaned against the wall, his hands tightly clenched into fists. He watched as Xinran's vital signs gradually faded away, enduring the torment of electric shocks, yet he could do nothing!
Fukuhara Tei furrowed his brow, holding the defibrillator in both hands. He seemed to sense the strong will to survive within the patient, so he instructed the nurse beside him to lower the intensity of the electric shock. Just moments ago, while extracting the bullet, he felt that fate did not want this woman to die; it was only a couple of centimeters away from hitting her heart. Fortunately, it did not!
After a moment, the heart rate monitor emitted a steady and normal beep. Finally, Xinran had escaped a calamity, her heartbeat restored, successfully driving away death...
"Young Master Si, she has temporarily escaped danger; the surgery was very successful. This is the bullet we removed. I believe if you hadn't been there to encourage her during the operation, she wouldn't have come back so easily!" Fukuhara Tei said as he removed his mask, holding a medical tray containing the bullet while addressing Mu Shaosi, who was still leaning against the wall.
Mu Shaosi took a deep breath and stepped towards Fukuhara Tei. He glared at the bullet stained with dried blood and reached out to pick it up, holding it in his hand. This bullet was meant for him but nearly took his woman's life instead. Therefore, he would keep it forever as a reminder to cherish Summer and never let her go again!
Many years ago, he faced a life-and-death situation when a girl appeared like an angel and saved him just in time. However, when he woke up from his coma, that girl had vanished without a trace. He had tried many ways to find her but had no success and ultimately had to give up. Many years later, another woman appeared—this woman was not only an angel but also a fool because she used her own life to save him. This time, he didn't have to exhaust himself searching for her; she was right by his side. How could he bear to let her go? He wasn't sure if Xinran would forgive him for what he had done just because she was willing to take a bullet for him, but he would wait until she was ready to forgive him because he still had a lifetime ahead of him—provided she would be his wife!
"When will she wake up?"
"Twenty-four hours later. If there are no signs of infection at her wound during this time, then when she wakes up, there shouldn't be any problems. She will need to stay in the germ-free Intensive Care Unit for another day and night before being transferred to a regular ward."
"Okay, I request additional nurses to take care of her; there mustn't be any mistakes. I don't want to see her endure the pain of electric shocks again!" After saying this, Mu Shaosi left the operating room. His Xinran had already been sent to a sterile ward; he wanted to stay there and be the first to see her open her eyes!
"Young Master Si, we just saw Future Lady being pushed out by the nurses; has she already escaped danger?" As soon as Mu Shaosi stepped out of the operating room, Duan Ruyin and Shinohara Ryo approached him. Upon hearing Duan Ruyin refer to Xinran directly as Future Lady without even using 'the future,' Shinohara Ryo couldn't help but roll his eyes. This man was truly boring; in her opinion, he was probably afraid that Young Master Si would hold him accountable for sending Xiaoran to stir things up.
While investigating the shooting scene, she overheard a subordinate who had been guarding the door of a room on the second floor say that they didn't know what had happened inside. However, not long after, Xinran ran out to the bathroom and started vomiting. If her guess was correct, she understood that Young Master Si would definitely pretend to be intimate with Xiaoran to provoke Xinran, but she didn't expect it to go too far, causing Xinran to be so overwhelmed that she vomited. Since that was the case, it was clear that Young Master Si would not let Duan Ruyin, who had sent Xiaoran, off easily!
This guy really thought too much. Shinohara Ryo's eyes moved slightly as she spoke, "Young Master Si, as long as Xinran is fine, we can all relax. However, I find it strange. You clearly went upstairs holding Xinran; we all know what you intended to do. But why did you come down so quickly and want to leave? If you hadn't come down, perhaps the shooter wouldn't have been able to harm you!"
Shinohara Ryo glanced at Duan Ruyin and smirked smugly. Young Master Si must have forgotten about Xiaoran by now; let her make things a bit difficult for him to remember!
"Young Master Si, do you have any further instructions? We'll handle things for you first!" Duan Ruyin reached out and grabbed Shinohara Ryo's hand, applying slight pressure while glaring at her aggressively.
"Wang, go to my house and help me gather some daily necessities. Also, buy a new set for Xinran to use when she wakes up. She probably won't wake up for another day and night. I'll stay with her in the hospital. You two can head back for now; we'll deal with anything once Xinran is discharged." Mu Shaosi's voice was somewhat hoarse as he tightly gripped the bullet still held in his palm and walked toward the sterile ward inside.
