"Are you still comfortable here?" Mu Shaosi walked into the hospital room and saw Xinran staring intently out the window. He approached her, sat down beside her, and asked.
"Shouldn't I have a reason to be uncomfortable? Isn't this the most luxurious room in the hospital?" Xinran replied quietly, remaining motionless.
"This has nothing to do with luxury; I just want you to be happy here."
"No matter where I am, I'll be happy, as long as you don't show up in front of me!" Xinran turned her face coldly, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly, half-smiling, half-sneering.
"I brought fish soup specially made by the housekeeper; it's good for healing your wounds. Let me pour it for you!" Mu Shaosi was not someone who could endure cold sarcasm from others without responding, but when it came to Xinran, it was different. He knew she was still angry with him, so he would continue to indulge her, allowing her to see his sincerity.
Xinran looked helplessly at Mu Shaosi pouring the soup for her. His movements were gentle, unlike the CEO Tian Kun from before, and different from Young Master from Cherry Blossom Hall a while ago. But she didn't want this; she would rather he coldly thanked her and then turned to leave without any entanglements, returning to his usual indifference. That way, she wouldn't have to worry about anything and could live her life peacefully...
"Here, drink this!" Mu Shaosi brought the bowl in front of Xinran.
"I don't want to drink!" Xinran stubbornly lowered her head, ignoring the bowl of soup placed in front of her.
"Be good and drink a little," Mu Shaosi said patiently. Rarely did he show such patience; even after being rejected, he didn't give up because he wanted her to be discharged as soon as possible. No matter how nice the hospital environment was, it wasn't a place for long-term stay.
"I told you I don't want to drink! Move it away!" Xinran pushed her hand forward but unexpectedly hit the bowl of soup. Mu Shaosi was caught off guard; his hand tilted, and the entire bowl of soup spilled onto Xinran's hospital gown.
"Are you okay? Did you get burned?" Mu Shaosi's expression changed as he hurriedly tossed the bowl aside and pressed the call button at the head of the bed repeatedly...
"I'm fine, you don't need to press anymore, I'm not burned." Xinran looked at the hospital gown stained with soup, feeling a bit helpless. It was unfortunate for her, but it wasn't as serious as Mu Shaosi thought. He must be worried that she would burn her mouth while drinking; the soup had already been served at a temperature that was just right for consumption, so how could it have burned her?
"Young Master Si, there's no need to worry. Miss Xia hasn't been burned; it's just that her clothes are dirty. It seems she needs to take a bath and change into clean clothes. I'll call the nurse to help Miss Xia bathe shortly since her wound can't get wet!" After a thorough examination, Fukuhara Tei confirmed that Xinran was fine, which finally reassured Mu Shaosi.
"Alright, I understand. Fukuhara, you don't need to send a nurse; I can help her wash up!"
"What? You're going to help me wash?" Xinran's eyes widened in shock as she exclaimed.
"Okay then, Young Master Si, I'll step out for now!" Fukuhara Tei and Mu Shaosi ignored Xinran's protest. Mu Shaosi merely glanced at Xinran before leaving the ward with Fukuhara Tei to fetch a clean hospital gown for her.
"Mu Shaosi, I don't want you to help me bathe! I don't want it, do you hear me?" Seeing Mu Shaosi return again, Xinran shouted at him.
"What's wrong? Are you shy? There's no need to be shy; I've seen every part of you. Even the most private areas..." Mu Shaosi smiled slightly as he looked at Xinran. She was angry, but this kind of not-so-cold anger warmed his heart and was truly comforting.
"Enough! Stop talking! I'm not shy! I wouldn't be shy because of you; I'm just afraid you'll infect my wound!" Xinran's face turned red as she panted. The stickiness on her body made her very uncomfortable; she really wanted to take a bath but absolutely did not want Mu Shaosi to help her.
"You can rest assured about that. I promise not to let your wound get infected because if anything happens to you, the one who will be heartbroken is me..." Mu Shaosi smiled and turned towards the bathroom to run water for Xinran's bath.
