"Who are you? What do you want?"
Hearing Qi Shaokai's unusual shout from the doorway, Xinran lifted her head from her arms and stood up indifferently. She didn't care about what was happening; she only cared whether Qi Shaokai could continue.
"Summer, long time no see!" A cold voice rang out, and Xinran suddenly raised her head, her eyes widening in shock.
"You... how did you get here?" After a moment, Xinran recovered from her astonishment. Her lips trembled, struggling to believe the scene before her. In just a few minutes, everything had turned upside down, all because Mu Shaosi had appeared!
She glanced toward the doorway and saw a man who usually followed Mu Shaosi holding a handgun pressed against Qi Shaokai's temple. Several bodyguards in black stood coldly at the entrance, but their positions were quite special; if Qi Shaokai made any sudden moves, they could subdue him in an instant. However, with a gun to his head, Qi Shaokai likely had no courage left. He seemed unaware that the man before him was the boss of the Japanese Underworld, and killing meant nothing to him.
"I’m here to remind you not to forget your identity!" Mu Shaosi's deep eyes fixed intently on Xinran. He noticed the red mark on her pale neck beneath her slightly open collar, her disheveled hair, and her somewhat dazed eyes. If he had arrived just a moment later, would his woman have already been pinned down by this man?
He walked slowly to the sofa and sat down, elegantly crossing his legs. The light gray suit pants accentuated his long leg lines perfectly, while the matching gray tailored jacket was slightly unbuttoned, much like his unruly hair. He didn’t even need to speak to intimidate everyone present.
"My identity?" Xinran pointed at herself and asked Mu Shaosi.
"It seems I’ve really been too lenient with you. As my wife and the Future Lady of Cherry Blossom Hall, how could you be fooling around with another man in a hotel behind my back? Do you even acknowledge my existence?" Mu Shaosi spoke in a flat tone, but his words nearly made Xinran choke with anger.
He called her his wife and the Future Lady of Cherry Blossom Hall; these irrelevant statements were not what she wanted to focus on right now. What mattered most was that he accused her of fooling around with another man in a hotel. After some time apart, their reunion painted her in such an unflattering light. It suggested that she had always been seen as such by him. This made her involuntarily recall that night when she had taken the initiative to approach him for love—only for it to be described as fooling around by him...
"You just want to say I'm cheap? Yes, I am cheap! I can choose whoever I want to share a room with or sleep with; it’s none of your business! When did I ever become your wife? It's ridiculous!" Xinran bit her lip and spoke defiantly, turning her gaze toward the window outside as her heart twisted in pain.
"Really?" Mu Shaosi suddenly stood up, striding over to Xinran. He wrapped one arm around her waist from behind, pulling her close and lowering his voice as he continued, "Then I will reluctantly help you awaken your memories!"
After saying that, Mu Shaosi turned to the side and picked Xinran up horizontally, walking towards the door. As he walked, he lowered his head and said to the panicking Xinran, "You're a bit dirty; I should give you a good wash!"
"Mu Shaosi, put me down..." Xinran froze for a moment when she saw the dangerous glint in his eyes. The next second, she began to struggle desperately. Mu Shaosi was too frightening; she suspected he was angry, and she vaguely guessed what might have caused his anger.
"I'll leave this to you for now; I'll handle it later!" Mu Shaosi ignored Xinran and instructed his subordinates before walking out of the room.
