"Do I have the honor of dancing with you?" Mukai Saki placed a delicate hand on the young man's shoulder, her gaze lingering on his eyes. She was confident that with her beauty, conquering the man before her would be effortless.
Mukai Hisashi was a mountain difficult to climb, so she could always give up, right?
"It is my honor to be invited by such a beautiful lady!" The man's eyes sparkled as he nodded repeatedly, leading Mukai Saki into the dance floor. He probably couldn't fathom why the stunning beauty, the center of attention, would invite him to dance...
Mukai Saki revealed a beautiful smile, gazing affectionately at the man. Their steps flowed harmoniously as they moved gracefully to the music. The young man's face was filled with unabashed admiration for her; his large hand rested on her waist, yet it was not intrusive. He simply wanted to elicit a radiant smile from her, not act like a lecher. Originally, he could only watch her from afar by the window, too timid to make a move, but now he found himself chosen by the beauty!
"Mizuki, I am so excited, really!"
"Oh? Why are you excited?" Mukai Saki feigned ignorance, fully aware of the admiration and longing in the man's eyes. Had every man who looked at her before gazed at her with such eyes? Yet she had foolishly focused only on Mukai Hisashi's gaze, wondering if there had ever been a moment when it was solely directed at her.
"I can't believe I have the chance to dance with you; you have no idea how lucky I feel..." As he spoke, his voice brimmed with excitement, and he nearly forgot the next dance step while watching Saki's every smile and frown.
"Haha, you are such a charming man!" She chuckled lightly, her hair cascading down to partially cover her face while adding an air of mysterious beauty.
Not far away, Mukai Hisashi casually turned his head and caught sight of this scene. His expression remained unchanged as he coldly stared at Saki laughing softly with another man. Like a leopard stalking its prey, he silently released the woman in front of him and politely said, "Excuse me, I need to step away for a moment!"
The seductive woman wore an expression of endless infatuation as she reluctantly let go of Mukai Hisashi, allowing him to walk back to his seat with an air of nobility. He picked up a glass of champagne and took a sip before continuing to fixate on Mukai Saki. That damned woman dared to display that enchanting expression towards another man—an expression he thought only belonged in their intimate moments. If he let this continue, Mukai Hisashi would turn his name around!
"Come with me!" In the next moment, he pounced like a leopard on its prey, grabbing Saki's wrist and pulling her away from the young man's embrace. Without giving either of them a chance to react or disturbing the surrounding guests, Saki was already following him out of the crowd.
"I don't want to!" Mukai Saki whispered, twisting her arms in an attempt to break free from Mukai Hisashi's grip.
"I will let you go, but not now, Mukai Saki. You brought this on yourself!" He released his hold but then wrapped his arm tightly around her slender waist, leading her up the spiral staircase to the guest room on the second floor.
Kicking open the door to the guest room, Mukai Hisashi pulled Saki inside and forcefully threw her onto the soft bed. He then stood in front of her, crossing his arms and staring at her with an icy gaze that seemed devoid of any warmth.
Mukai Saki felt a sense of grievance, but more than that, she was sad. A multitude of sorrowful feelings surged within her heart. He clearly did not love her; he had so many women around him for his enjoyment, yet he insisted on domineeringly keeping her by his side, preventing her from having even the slightest interaction with other men. What right did he have? What exactly gave him that right? It was nothing but her unwavering devotion to him!
"I'm waiting for your explanation, Mukai Saki!" After a few minutes, when Mukai Hisashi saw that she still showed no signs of speaking, he said coldly.
