“Young Master Si, I will take you to the hospital. Your wound is still bleeding, and if this continues, something bad will happen!” Duan Ruyin instructed her subordinates to take Jamison and the two bodyguards away. Suddenly, she remembered that Young Master Si had been injured while fighting with Jamison. She looked at the wound and realized it was much more serious than she had imagined, causing her expression to change slightly.
Failing to protect Young Master was her dereliction of duty as a subordinate!
“It’s fine, just take me back to Dongshan Residence!” Mu Shaosi pressed on his wound and collapsed onto the sofa.
“But, Young Master Si…” Duan Ruyin wanted to say more, but upon seeing Mu Shaosi raise his arm to stop her, she closed her mouth and turned to leave the private room to get the car.
All the way, Mu Shaosi lay back in the car seat with his eyes closed, resting. The wound had been treated simply, but the knife that Jamison had used was a Japanese Military Sword. In the past, Japanese soldiers who failed to complete their assigned missions would choose to commit suicide with such a sword. A single cut from such a blade could be fatal, especially since it had been driven into Mu Shaosi’s left side…
Even with similar injuries, Mu Shaosi had not returned all of the pain he had received from Jamison, so Jamison's suffering was far less than what Mu Shaosi was enduring!
“Young Master Si, Old Master will worry if he sees you like this!” Duan Ruyin said as she turned the steering wheel slightly and glanced at Mu Shaosi.
“My grandfather is used to seeing me injured; this little cut is nothing…” Mu Shaosi opened his eyes and glanced at the streets passing by outside. This injury didn’t mean much to him; he had endured worse. But for some reason, this time he suddenly wished that Xinran could be by his side. He thought that holding her would make it all worthwhile, even if he were stabbed a few more times.
“Yan, I’ll leave the matters of the Black Dragon Gang to you and Teng. I want that old guy from Black Dragon dead without a burial place. He has been arrogant long enough; it all needs to come to an end!”
“Yes, Young Master Si!” Duan Ruyin nodded. “Should I send someone to bring Future Lady over to keep you company? It would be better with her taking care of you!”
“No need. Xinran has work over there, and I’ll be going back in two days. This trip is just to handle matters with the Black Dragon Society, and also to see my grandfather and mother!”
Duan Ruyin did not say anything more. A long time ago, when Summer took a bullet for Young Master Si and nearly lost his life, Young Master Si's demeanor had already diverged significantly from the indifferent Young Master he was familiar with. After that, he only knew that Young Master Si had married her as he wished. The nature of their relationship remained unknown to him while he was in Japan. It was not until today, when Young Master Si was injured but refused to trouble her to come to Japan because she still had work, that he realized Young Master Si had cherished this woman deeply. Not to mention harming her, even his affection for her had surpassed that of Mu Shaosi over nearly thirty years!
The reason Duan Ruyin joined Cherry Blossom Hall and eventually became the leader was due to his admiration for Old Master's loyalty and Young Master's way of handling matters. His feelings for Young Master Si went beyond mere brotherhood; there were many debts of gratitude involved. Therefore, Summer should best avoid harming Young Master Si or attempting to leave his side. Otherwise, as a subordinate, he would go to great lengths to bring her back, no matter how far apart they were. Moreover, it wouldn't just be him, all the brothers from Cherry Blossom Hall would do the same!
"Young Master Si, we have arrived!" The car slowly stopped in the expansive courtyard. Duan Ruyin got out and opened the door to assist Mu Shaosi out of the car.
The courtyard and residence before them seemed to retain the charm of the past, with an antique elegance permeating every corner. The winding corridors and intricately carved rooftops made one feel as if they were transported back to ancient Japan...
This was the residence of Mu Shaosi's grandfather, Takahashi Ryu. Takahashi Ryu had navigated the Underworld throughout his life but was a truly traditional Japanese elder. He preferred living in the ancestral home left behind by his forebears and had spent his entire life here. In fact, a high plaque hung above the entrance with traces of age etched into it, yet the characters "Tōzan Mansion" were clear and appeared to have been deliberately restored.
"Young Master, you have returned! The master is waiting for you in the hall!" An elderly steward dressed in a kimono and wooden sandals came out to greet Mu Shaosi.
