"Linda, I have an urgent matter to attend to and need to go back for a bit."
"Alang, please don't joke with me. The promotional plans and schedule have already been arranged. How can you suddenly tell me you need to go back?"
Xinran sat nearby, listening to the conversation between Zhan Rilang and his manager Linda. In fact, before Zhan Rilang even spoke, Xinran had already guessed how Linda would respond. After all, she was an artist herself and knew how difficult it could be for a manager when things were already set but had to be changed at the last minute. Jerry had often complained about such matters in front of her.
"Linda, I promise I will only stay for one day and will return quickly to continue with the promotional work. So please help me push my work back by two days, okay?" Zhan Rilang said childishly as he shook Linda's shoulders.
"Rilang, I can actually wait until your work here is finished before going back together..." Xinran said, seeing Linda's helpless expression. Although she had known Linda for less than a day, she really liked this strong-willed woman. It seemed she had already heard her name from Zhan Rilang, so when she arrived at his room and saw a woman there, she felt no surprise at all and calmly introduced herself.
"Alang, did you hear that? Xinran isn't even anxious!"
"But I am anxious. I don't want to leave her here; I need to send her back quickly so I can feel at ease."
Upon hearing this, Linda raised an eyebrow and turned to Xinran, directly asking, "Xinran, have you agreed to Alang's pursuit?"
"Linda, don't say that!" Before Xinran could respond, Zhan Rilang interjected.
"In that case, having her stay by your side for work is perfect; it can help you build your relationship. Maybe by the time you return home, Xinran will agree to your pursuit!" Linda and Zhan Rilang had grown up together since their fathers were family friends, so they understood each other very well. Linda knew everything about Zhan Rilang, including the incident that caused him to disappear for a long time. She also knew that all these years, there had been one woman who had always held a place in Alang's heart—Summer.
"Linda, since when did you care so much about my lifelong affairs? Just one thing: I want to go back. Is that okay?"
"Cut it out, with you saying that, how can I refuse? You always throw the difficult tasks at me, not showing any sense of fairness!" Linda glared sideways at Zhan Rilang and pouted.
"Xinran, make sure to rest well tonight. We will leave tomorrow," Zhan Rilang said, ignoring Linda's dissatisfaction and addressing Xinran directly.
"How insensitive! Xinran, you must not give in just because you feel sorry for him and agree to his pursuit! Who knows if this man can be trusted!" Linda leaned closer to Xinran, jokingly teasing Zhan Rilang.
"Linda, this is none of your business anymore. You can leave now!" Zhan Rilang walked to the door, opened it, and gestured for her to exit.
"Hey, is this how you treat your manager? Be careful, or I might get in a bad mood and make things difficult for you!" Linda shot a glare at Zhan Rilang before turning back to Xinran and saying, "I'll send someone with the plane tickets later."
"Thank you, Linda!" Xinran smiled gently.
