“Where is Summer? Why hasn’t she come to see me? Didn’t she say she was going back to get some clean clothes? Why hasn’t she returned?” Mu Shaosi leaned on the hospital bed, glaring angrily at the Four Gatekeepers, and with a 'bang', he knocked the fruit bowl off the low table beside him.
“Young Master Si, if the Future Lady doesn’t want to come, should we tie her up and bring her here to take care of you? Besides, with your current injuries, you’re not completely helpless; you don’t need anyone to take care of you!” Duan Ruyin replied, pouting.
“Idiot, Young Master Si just wants to see Xinran all the time. Even if she’s just sitting there, it’s better than having you around!” Shinohara Ryo leaned back on the sofa, casually munching on an apple.
“Shou, where has she gone? Did you send someone to follow her?” Mu Shaosi furrowed his brows tightly, worried that she might leave him again. Was yesterday just a dream?
“Mu Shaosi, you’re lying in bed with injuries and still thinking about sending someone to follow me?” Just then, the door to the hospital room was suddenly pushed open, and Xinran stood at the entrance with a gentle smile.
She wore a somewhat sheer light pink strapless dress and draped a cream-colored shawl over her shoulders, making her look fresh and graceful, as if stepping into a canvas filled with the essence of spring.
“Do you still remember that I’m lying in this hospital bed?” Mu Shaosi’s eyes seemed locked onto Xinran, captivated by her beauty. Even if she took everything from him, he wouldn’t let go.
“Actually, I’m nothing to you. Whether you’re lying in bed or not has nothing to do with me,” Xinran said with a smile as she stepped into the room and stopped a few steps away from Mu Shaosi.
“What are you talking about? Don’t forget that contract; you are still my legitimate wife.” Hearing Xinran’s words, Mu Shaosi’s expression turned cold as he spoke in a low voice.
“If my identity is just that of your legitimate wife, then I’d rather pack my suitcase right now and leave. Who knows who the wife of Cherry Blossom Hall's Dong Shan Zhong is besides those few people? If you want me to stay here and take care of you, shouldn’t you show some acknowledgment?” Xinran crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head playfully at Mu Shaosi.
“Oh, so the Future Lady is asking for recognition. Young Master Si, you really should show some acknowledgment!” Duan Ruyin chuckled in agreement.
"Since you already know it's a matter between two people, do you still want to be a third wheel here?" Shinohara Ryo stood up, patted Duan Ruyin's shoulder, pointed at Mukai Hisashi and Shirakawa Fuji who had already walked out, and then strode out of the ward as well. Young Master Si finally saw the light after the clouds parted, and this was indeed something worth celebrating for everyone.
"Do you want to know why I suddenly changed my mind?" Xinran sat by Mu Shaosi's bedside, lowered her head, kissed his lips lightly, and asked softly.
"Although I really want to know, right now I want to do something else!" Mu Shaosi narrowed his deep eyes, rolled over, and pinned Xinran beneath him. "Do you know what I want to do?"
"Be careful of your injuries..." Xinran shot him a glare and pushed against his solid body with her hands.
"Those don't matter at all; right now, you're the most important thing!" With that, he lowered his head and kissed her deeply.
Their lips met, with Mu Shaosi taking the lead while Xinran responded. Their lips and tongues intertwined, so intense and so sincere...
At that moment, love overlooked everything; this was not a hospital room but a place where they witnessed their affection!
When everything ended, Mu Shaosi was still deeply embedded in Xinran's body. He looked at her flushed face damp with sweat and the strapless dress that had been pulled down to her waist, feeling an indescribable sense of satisfaction. He had finally completely possessed her; it was willingly given, without any resistance or coercion.
"Why did you suddenly change your mind? After one night, did you realize how good I am?" Mu Shaosi pecked Xinran's collarbone and asked softly.
"You are really great, but I discovered something even more important: we actually knew each other over a decade ago, and back then I had already given you my first kiss..." Xinran replied somewhat tiredly. They had truly been reckless; this was a hospital after all, but she didn't regret going crazy with Mu Shaosi here!
"What do you mean? Are you saying..." Before Mu Shaosi could finish his question, he suddenly understood. He couldn't believe that the girl he had searched for all those years was right in front of him—the woman beneath him whom he cherished so dearly.
"Mu Shaosi, marry me again! This time, let's be together for a lifetime, okay?"
"Wife, wait for me to be discharged from the hospital, and we will get married!" He solemnly kissed her forehead, making a promise for love!
