The Old Man hurried over with some snacks, both anxious and fearful, his voice raised a bit: "I told you to rest, but you just wouldn't listen, so stubborn." 0

As he spoke, he nervously grabbed the Old Matron's hand to check on her. After receiving her repeated assurances that she was fine, he turned to the two guests and apologized, "I'm really sorry. My Wife just can't sit still. I hope we didn't scare you two." 0

Jiang Wei shook his head, smiling warmly: "It's nothing serious. As long as Grandma is okay! But at your age, why not enjoy some peace at home instead of coming out here?" 0

The Old Man smiled as he took Grandma's hand and led her to the table next door. "You all say I'm old, but I refuse to admit it. Back in the day when I followed the Night General into battle, I wasn't afraid of thousands of troops..." 0

"Bragging again!" Grandma scolded him lightly, then turned to the two handsome young people with a smile. "Don't listen to his nonsense. He was lucky enough to serve as a supply officer with the Night General's troops for two years when he was young; he never saw any real battle or faced thousands of troops. Now go get that chicken from the pot for the guests." 0

After being scolded by his own wife, the Old Man glared for a moment but ultimately didn't dare to retort, waving his sleeve dismissively: "You have long hair but short knowledge; I won't argue with you." 0

Grandma huffed and pulled him toward the kitchen. 0

Night Star's expression had been stiff ever since he heard the words "Night General," lost in thought and oblivious even when Jiang Wei raised a toast to him. 0

Noticing something was off with Night Star's demeanor, Jiang Wei put down his raised Wine Bowl and quietly asked, "Are you alright?" 0

Night Star snapped back to reality: "Sorry, I just recalled something." 0

"If it's something important, feel free to take care of it. We’re staying in the same inn anyway; we can drink together whenever you're free," Jiang Wei said thoughtfully. 0

Night Star smiled and shook his head: "It's nothing! Just some past events... better left unsaid!" 0

Seeing that he didn't want to talk about it, Jiang Wei naturally didn't press further. He raised his Wine Bowl and said, "It's a blessing to share drinks with you today; let me toast first." 0

Seeing Jiang Wei drink heartily, Night Star couldn't help but feel more favorable towards him. Growing up in a military camp as a tough soldier, he wasn't one to be shy. He lifted his Wine Bowl and downed it in one go. The two exchanged glances and laughed heartily together. 0

"I noticed you have been following me all the way. If you have something to discuss, feel free to speak up," Jiang Wei asked after a few rounds of drinks. 0

Night Star put down his wine bowl and wiped the wine stains from his lips, saying, "I haven't had the pleasure of asking your name yet." 0

"My surname is Jiang, and my given name is Wei." Jiang Wei did not hide anything, looking directly into the other person's eyes, clear and transparent. 0

Night Star smiled and clasped his fists together: "I am Night Star, a person from the Heavenly Universe Kingdom." 0

"Ah, so it's Brother Night. I apologize for my rudeness," Jiang Wei said with a smile. "Brother Night, with such demeanor and extraordinary presence, you must be someone remarkable. May I ask where you are currently employed?" 0

"I am merely a martial artist; there's nothing remarkable about it," Night Star poured himself another bowl of wine and drank it all in one go. "But Brother Jiang has a noble temperament and handsome appearance, which makes me quite envious." 0

"Hahaha, Brother Night is joking," Jiang Wei laughed heartily. "Let's eat, let's eat." 0

The two of them continued to drink enthusiastically, eventually playing drinking games. After several rounds, they were both feeling tipsy. 0

The more they drank, the more they enjoyed each other's company, as if they had known each other for ages, drinking from sunset until the moon hung above the treetops! 0

Jiang Wei's fan had long since disappeared, and his white clothing was stained with food. His face was flushed from drinking, and he said, "Brother Night, after this cup, we are brothers." 0

"Good brothers," Night Star replied, not faring much better himself. His dark scarf was tied around his waist, and his usually calm face now looked somewhat dazed: "Cheers! We won't leave until we're drunk." 0

With a thud! The two of them could no longer handle their liquor; after finishing this cup of wine, they collapsed onto the table and fell into a deep sleep. 0

When Old Man came out holding a pot of stewed chicken, he was shocked: "What happened to these two kids? How did they end up like this? Wife, quickly bring me a pot of sobering tea." 0

Old Matron lifted the curtain to see what was happening and slapped Old Man's arm: "Look at what you've done! These two kids clearly come from pampered backgrounds. Do you think they can handle our strong liquor? Just look at them! If their families come looking for them later and get angry with you, it will be quite the trouble." 0

Saying this, he went to the kitchen to prepare a hangover soup. 0

"How could that be!" the Old Man scratched the back of his head. "I've only been brewing this liquor for a month; how could it have such strength?" 0

He dipped his index finger into some spilled liquor on the table, tasted it, smacked his lips a few times, shook his head, and looked at the two who had already fallen asleep. "Young people these days, just a little bit of alcohol and you’re out cold. Truly, one generation is worse than the last." 0

"Shopkeeper, this is my master; I'm here to take him home," a tall figure suddenly appeared at the door, Qinglong said softly. 0

The Old Man was startled. "Oh my! You scared me! When did you arrive? How come I didn't notice?" 0

Qinglong was left speechless. 0

The Old Man might have felt he was being a bit harsh, so he awkwardly said, "Don't take it personally; I didn't mean to say you're dark. Although you are indeed a bit dark, but kid, if you're dark-skinned, you shouldn't wear all black and stand in the dim corner of the wall. If you're going to stand there, that's fine, but you need to make some noise! If you don’t say anything, look at how you scared me! I'm an old man; I can't handle being startled, you know?" 0

"..." Qinglong. 0

"What did you just say? This is your master? Which one is your master? You need to clarify that! Wait, don't tell me yet; let me guess. Let me see if I guess right. Don't rush me; let me take a look... I guess it's... 0

The young man in black clothes, right?" The Old Man was having fun with this, looking at Qinglong with his eyes blinking and his goatee twitching, wearing an expression that seemed to say "Praise me!" 0

Qinglong took a deep breath. "..." 0

"Not right?" The Old Man stroked his goatee and pouted. "Then let me guess again; I guess it's the one in white clothes?" 0

Qinglong rubbed his forehead and felt a bit dizzy. "..." 0

"Then just tell me already! Is your master the one in black or the one in white? I can't just take someone back without knowing clearly. What if you go back and realize—oh no! I brought back the wrong person! Then what are you going to do? Are you going to return them to me or send them back to their original place?" 0

"You give me back the person, and I don't even know where these two kids live. If you don't return them to me, it's not really suitable for you to keep them at your place, is it? So just say it..." The Old Man became anxious himself. 0

Qinglong was almost in tears: "Sir, it was you who wouldn't let me speak!" You were having so much fun; how could I, as a junior, stop you? 0

The Old Man looked up at the sky: "Really? Did I?" 0

You're just pretending! 0

Qinglong helplessly rubbed his forehead, "My master is this one, Dark. It's getting late; I need to take him back to the inn." 0

"Hey, no way! You can't leave." The Old Man saw this and put down the stewed chicken in his arms, opening his arms wide: "This person is still drunk. How do I know you really know him? What if you're a scammer and take him away from me? That would be a serious problem for me." 0

Qinglong wanted to die: "Sir, my master is a man!" 0

In other words, he's not some young girl. If I were to deceive someone, I wouldn't bring home a tall and strong man! 0

The Old Man shook his head, looking up at the sky: "These days, everything is hard to say!" 0

"Pfft!" 0

The two who were pretending to be drunk finally couldn't keep it up any longer! 0

Night Star propped himself up and wiped his face, looking drowsy: "Where is this?" 0

Qinglong leaned over: "Master, this is the Tavern." 0

"So I was actually drunk." Jiang Wei's acting was even more seasoned; he wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth and stretched lazily. "It's already this late. Night Brother, it's time to return to the inn." 0

Night Star clasped his fists together and said, "Since my servant is here, why not have him accompany Brother Jiang back? It's on the way anyway." 0

Jiang Wei waved his hand, "Thank you for your kind offer, Night Brother. My head is pounding; a bit of fresh air on the way back should help clear it up by the time I reach home." 0

Night Star replied, "If that's the case, then I won't insist. Farewell!" 0

"Farewell!" 0

Once Jiang Wei's swaying figure disappeared from sight, Old Man finally reacted, "I told you the one in black is your master; you just wouldn't admit it!" 0

Qinglong: "..." 0

Night Star: "..." 0

Back at the inn, Old Madam had been waiting in the room for quite some time. 0

"Your Highness, did you uncover anything today?" As soon as Jiang Wei entered, he eagerly asked. 0

After pouring himself a cup of tea and downing it in one go, Jiang Wei replied, "I didn't find out anything." 0

"Nothing at all?" Old Madam was puzzled. "How can that be?" 0

The Crown Prince was known as a cunning fox in court; there was nothing he couldn't achieve if he set his mind to it. Today he merely went to investigate the intentions of an unidentified person, yet he couldn't even uncover that—it was truly baffling. 0

Jiang Wei played with the Folding Fan in his hand to dissipate the alcohol's effects and said, "But it's not entirely without gains." 0

"Oh?" Old Madam asked. "What did you discover?" 0

"At least I have discovered that he means no harm to me!" Jiang Wei confidently said, recalling that person's gaze. 0

Old Madam shook her head, "Your Highness, you can know a person's face but not their heart!" 0

"If I lack even this basic ability to discern people, then all the years of your teaching would be in vain," Jiang Wei replied with a smile, though it was a veiled reminder for the other party to not overstep their bounds. 0

Old Madam understood and nodded, "Yes, I have overstepped my position." 0

"You have waited all day today; you must be tired. Go back and rest," he said as he watched her leave before quietly commanding, "Come out!" 0

After a moment, a petite figure crawled out from under the bed. Ajin stood at the foot of the bed with a pout, nervously fiddling with the corner of her clothing. "Brother!" 0

"If you dare to enter my room again, don't blame me for breaking your legs next time," Jiang Wei forced out through clenched teeth. "Get out." 0

"I won't," Ajin stubbornly stood her ground. "I just want to ask you one thing: why don't you like me? If I change what you don't like about me, will that be enough?" 0

"Hate is hate!" Jiang Wei said each word clearly. "No matter how much you change, it won't alter the fact that your essence is that of a beggar. You are not my sister, and don't even think about becoming my sister!" 0

Ajin bit her lip as tears began to spill from her eyes, her glistening tears making her pointed little face look even more pitiful. "It's not my fault your sister can't be found..." 0

"Shut up!" Jiang Wei suddenly lunged forward and grabbed her by the neck. "You have no right to mention her; shut your mouth!" 0
