A Zombie was approaching Zhang Li's position, and Zhang Li wanted to rely on the scent on him to blend in. However, the Zombie clearly showed no mercy, waving its arms as if it wanted Zhang Li's life. 0

Seeing that things were not going well, Zhang Li had no time to hesitate. Just as he was about to fire his gun, the Zombie unexpectedly passed right by him. 0

Zhang Li's spirits lifted as he suddenly drew a Triangular Bayonet from behind him. Instead of shooting, he swept the Bayonet, cleanly severing the Zombie's head. 0

In silence, a Zombie fell to the ground, its eyes wide open, and its head rolled away like a ball. 0

Feeling secretly pleased, Zhang Li was about to take advantage of this opportunity to start a killing spree when someone jumped down behind him. Turning around, he saw it was Li Xiaofan. 0

"Company Commander, what's the situation?" Li Xiaofan asked nervously, glancing around. When he noticed dozens of Zombies moving nearby, his expression tightened. 0

Zhang Li lowered his voice and said, "Just look at this thing and you'll know how bad it is! Damn it, that Han Guang really guessed right!" 0

Li Xiaofan looked down and saw a Zombie's head right at his feet. 0

With a thud, another person jumped down. 0

"How's it going, Li Xiaofan?" 0

Li Xiaofan grimaced at the brother standing next to him. "You crushed that Zombie's head and splattered me with it!" 0

The guy felt something unusual under his feet and thought he had stepped in dog poop. He didn't expect it to be a Zombie's head. He joked, "With you like this, I'm adding another layer of disguise for you!" 0

Soon after, most of the people from the ventilation duct jumped down, except for the last one, Li Nan. 0

Li Nan hid in the duct, peeking down. His eyes widened as he refused to jump down. 0

"I can't believe it! It's so high! If I jump down, I might break a leg!" Determined not to jump, Li Nan wouldn't be swayed by anyone. 0

At the back of Door 2, which was about three meters high, when Li Nan finally jumped down, he nearly met his end. The memory of that incident made him reluctant to take risks again. However, Li Nan was not an expendable member of the team; they needed him to locate the power system in the Control Room. So he had no choice but to jump down. 0

Zhang Li stood under the vent hole and couldn't help but feel amused. Here was a man in his twenties who was quite clever but was afraid to jump down from a height of four meters. If this were a military camp, he would definitely need to train this soldier well. 0

But this wasn't a military camp, and Li Nan wasn't one of Zhang Li's soldiers. Therefore, Zhang Li truly had no way to deal with Li Nan. 0

Li Nan shouted from the ventilation duct, "I'll tell you where the power system is. You go first, fix it, and then come back. I'll be waiting here in this duct anyway; you will have to come up eventually!" 0

Facing Li Nan's evasiveness, Zhang Li appeared somewhat helpless, but Han Guang had a bit of a plan. 0

Hiding in the duct, Li Nan looked down and saw several big men unbuckling their belts. "What are they doing?" 0

Han Guang below pulled over a few belts, flipped them in his hands, and fastened them together, creating a length of about three to four meters. 0

Han Guang swung the belt rope in his hand and tossed it up to the edge of the ventilation duct, where there was a groove left from some processing work. The buckle of the belt just caught perfectly in that groove. 0

After testing the strength of the rope, Han Guang said to Li Nan, "This rope is sturdy enough; you can come down now!" 0

Li Nan was skeptical. He grabbed onto the belt rope with both hands and tested it with a little force. It felt quite solid, so he reluctantly dropped his previously proud demeanor. "Well, with this thing, I could have come down earlier!" 0

Li Nan positioned himself, gripping the belt rope tightly with both hands. He first lowered his feet and then climbed down like a monkey. 0

With a sudden "snap," the belt rope broke beneath him. With a loud thud, Li Nan landed on the ground again. 0

"Damn it, you tricked me!" Li Nan rubbed his backside while questioning Han Guang, "You said this thing was sturdy; how did it break after just one meter?" 0

"Ow... ow..." Li Nan couldn't help but cry out. 0

Han Guang laughed, "I didn't attach the belt; you can't blame me!" 0

Liu Ziming chimed in jokingly, "Not my fault either!" 0

Li Nan glared angrily. "Who is it then?" His gaze landed on Zhang Li's stern face. 0

"Ah, it's nothing serious; just a bit painful from the fall!" Li Nan explained to himself, while Zhang Li said, "That's not important right now. The issue is that we need to quickly find where the power system has been damaged and make repairs immediately. We don't know how long this smell on us will last; we must hurry." 0

At that moment, Li Nan also noticed that the filthy things crawling on him were decreasing more and more, and his aversion to the smell was lessening as well. He could confirm that it wasn't because he had gotten used to it; rather, the smell was genuinely fading. 0

Li Nan composed himself and said to Zhang Li, "The ventilation hole we came out of is located at the northwest corner of the Control Room. The large machine over there is the Ventilation Fan, responsible for ventilating the Underground Morgue. To be honest, I'm not very familiar with this power system here, but I can deduce one thing: it's not in this northwest corner!" 0

The Power Hub cannot be too close to high-power consuming Electric Machines, so Li Nan can determine that the core of the underground power system must be in the southeast direction of the Control Room. 0

Li Nan asked Zhang Li, "Is there anyone among you who understands electricity? We might find the problem but won't be able to solve it!" 0

Li Xiaofan stepped forward, saying, "I come from an engineering background; this is a piece of cake!" 0

A dozen Zombies were swaying nearby, making Li Nan feel uncomfortable, as if dozens of eyes were spying on him, even though they were unaware of his presence. In reality, those Zombies had no idea that there were still humans around; otherwise, they would have gone wild. With food in front of them, what glutton wouldn't go berserk? 0

Li Nan cleared his throat and said, "I wonder how this underground power system was damaged by the Zombies. It shouldn't be complicated; we should set off immediately!" 0

Since time was tight, there was no room for delay. Although Zhang Li wanted to eliminate these Zombies, the time consumed would be immeasurable. It was not worth it to inflict heavy losses unless absolutely necessary. 0

Thus, Zhang Li and the others headed southeast. 0

The interior of the Control Room resembled an underground warehouse, quite spacious and filled with various power machinery and pipes. Li Nan held a Wolf Eye Flashlight, observing left and right but found nothing that matched their target. 0

The temperature inside the Control Room was very high, and there were signs of oxygen deficiency, making it difficult for Zhang Li and the others to breathe. In contrast, the Zombies appeared quite agile; it seemed that high temperatures indeed made them more formidable, and they were completely unaffected by the lack of oxygen. Li Nan pondered silently, "Truly living dead!" 0

From the current situation, it could be inferred that these Zombies had completely lost their human functions. Aside from their heads being a weak point, they were nearly perfect! 0

Li Nan couldn't help but sigh. If such beings were truly the creator's choice, then had nature evolved or regressed? 0

While Li Nan was lost in thought, Zhang Li called out from ahead, "Is this what we're looking for?" 0

Li Nan spotted a cable as thick as an arm against the wall on the eastern side of the Control Room. Following its direction led straight to where the power system was located. 0

Liu Ziming also came over and exclaimed, "Wow! Such a thick cable has been bitten off; this Zombie has quite an appetite!" 0

Li Nan lowered his voice and asked Li Xiaofan, "Can you fix this?" 0

Li Xiaofan carefully examined the cable and replied, "This cable is easy to handle; however, it might not be the key issue!" 0

Li Nan was puzzled: "What do you mean?" 0

Li Xiaofan held up the Wolf Eye Flashlight and looked towards the direction where the cable extended. He said, "Based on the direction of this cable, it must be transporting to the Underground Morgue without a doubt. The Underground Morgue and this Control Room belong to two separate areas, and the power supply is definitely independent. Now both the Underground Morgue and this Control Room are without power, so it's not just an issue with the cable transporting to the Underground Morgue!" 0

Li Xiaofan spoke at length, but Li Nan only understood one thing: even if the damaged cable was repaired, it would be impossible to restore power. 0

"Then where exactly is the problem?" Li Nan pressed. 0

Li Xiaofan looked around at everyone. "We don't know yet. Maybe we should first check the Distribution Station ahead!" 0

The discovered cable extended from the Distribution Station a few meters away. 0

Li Nan slapped his forehead. "Then let's go! What are we waiting for?" 0

The Distribution Station was a unit that had been isolated. Zhang Li was in front, carefully peering through a glass panel on a small door to confirm that there were no Zombies inside before preparing to open the outer door of the Distribution Station. 0

Liu Ziming laughed from behind, "Boss, I think you were scared by a Zombie. That door is still locked; how could there be a Zombie inside?" 0

Zhang Li also realized that despite his efforts, the small door wouldn't budge; it turned out that there was a padlock on it. Embarrassed, Zhang Li took out his Thompson Submachine Gun and with a swift strike, knocked off the padlock. 0
