Carrying Mo Xiaohui down the stairs, Li Nan seemed anxious and couldn't help but quicken his pace.
As he turned a corner at the stairwell, he heard footsteps coming from below. Li Nan felt a bit suspicious and immediately slowed down, intending to wait for the right moment.
Just as Li Nan was pondering how to gain the upper hand, someone approached him. The person had a square face and a serious demeanor, looking very capable.
It was Han Guang!
Li Nan let out a quiet sigh, "What are you doing up here?"
Han Guang shrugged nonchalantly, "I saw you rushing upstairs and got a bit worried, so I followed you!" He then glanced over and noticed a woman on Li Nan's back; judging by her silhouette, she didn't seem unattractive.
Han Guang smiled playfully, "Looks like you've found the person you were looking for!"
Li Nan didn't bother to argue and simply asked, "Nothing happened in the lobby downstairs, right?"
Han Guang was taken aback, "Why do you ask that?"
Li Nan replied firmly, "There are zombies in Jiangbei Hospital!"
Han Guang clicked his tongue in surprise, "Really?"
Li Nan nodded and raised an eyebrow, subtly indicating the woman on his back. Han Guang immediately understood, "So what do you want to do now?"
"First, we need to gather everyone in one place. I'm afraid if the zombies swarm us, we won't be able to escape!"
Han Guang agreed and turned to head downstairs, with Li Nan following closely behind.
The two men hurried down the stairs and reached the first floor in just a few seconds. Zhang Li and the others were puzzled by the situation. "Who is that woman?"
Li Nan didn't answer Zhang Li's question. Instead, he gently set Mo Xiaohui down and comforted her as if she were a frightened kitten. "You're safe now; you don't have to be afraid of zombies anymore!"
Mo Xiaohui curled up on the ground and nodded, saying, "Please don't leave me behind; please!"
Li Nan tidied Mo Xiaohui's disheveled hair and nodded heavily.
Zhang Li and the others recognized Mo Xiaohui's appearance since they had interacted with her when they set out initially.
Zhang Li was stunned and immediately asked, "How could this happen? What exactly is going on?"
Han Guang, with a serious expression, said, "Liu Heping wasn't lying; Jiangbei Hospital is indeed infested with Zombies!"
Zhang Li was surprised. "There are no signs of chaos on the first floor. How is that possible?"
Han Guang smiled bitterly. "I don't know either. Perhaps everyone has been moved to the second floor or above, which is why there are no traces on the first floor. However, that girl's words can already prove that Jiangbei Hospital is indeed plagued by Zombies!"
Mo Xiaohui's emotions gradually stabilized, and Li Nan turned to everyone and said, "The situation is severe; we may have to prepare for the worst!"
At that moment, Liu Ziming, lying on the ground, let out a few muffled groans, seemingly in great pain.
Seeing this, Li Nan said helplessly, "For now, although there are no Zombies coming down, we can't just sit and wait. Liu Ziming's condition is also not optimistic; we must go upstairs to find some medicine. Otherwise, Liu Ziming won't last an hour!"
To be honest, in this situation, whether or not there was an outbreak of Zombies in the hospital, their predicament was not good. At this point, Zhang Li had come to terms with it; it was better to take a risk than to wait for death!
Li Nan observed everyone's reactions and seemed to agree with his earlier thoughts.
"Given the circumstances, we need to take the initiative. The people outside will definitely not let us out, and there are still hundreds of Zombies in Jiangbei Hospital. We must band together if we want any hope of survival!" Li Nan said passionately.
Han Guang echoed, "Having gone through so much, I believe we understand how Zombies transmit infection. As long as we haven't been scratched or bitten, we are completely safe. So why should we stay here to die alongside these Zombies? We can escape ourselves and then prove our safety to those outside!"
Zhang Li looked at Liu Ziming, whose breathing was becoming increasingly erratic, then met Li Nan's determined gaze and firmly said, "Waiting is death; it's better to take the initiative!"
The remaining Wolf Fang Soldiers also chimed in, "Let's wipe out those damn Zombies!"
Han Guang smiled and asked, "Li Nan, what do you think?"
"We'll split into two teams: one will look for medicine while the other deals with the Zombies!"
Zhang Li immediately shouted, "No! Our numbers are so few now, and we only have a few rounds of ammunition left. If we split into two teams, our strength will be further diminished. How can we deal with so many Zombies? Moreover, the most important thing right now is that the situation with the Zombies is unclear. If we act rashly, we'll suffer significant losses that we can't afford!"
Li Nan replied with a smile, "What Captain Zhang said has crossed my mind too. But the current situation is that Liu Ziming cannot be delayed any longer. The sun will rise soon; once the temperature rises, it will be much harder for us to deal with those Zombies!"
Although Li Nan's words were reasonable, Zhang Li still felt it was inappropriate. After all, their fighting force was already minimal; splitting into two groups would be like cutting off their own arms.
Li Nan continued explaining, "The situation on the second and third floors isn't very clear yet. However, I've roughly observed the fourth floor and found no Zombies there. Those Zombies should be concentrated on the fifth floor or above. Based on my judgment, most of them should be around the tenth floor!"
"Why are you so confident?" asked Han Guang beside him.
Li Nan feigned a relaxed demeanor and said, "I know there's a Hot Water Room on the 10th floor, where the temperature should generally be a couple of degrees higher than room temperature. Zombies are attracted to heat, so they will likely be there!"
Upon hearing Li Nan's words, Zhang Li's spirits lifted. "What about the location of the Hot Water Room? How big is it?"
Li Nan explained to Zhang Li and the others that a Hot Water Room could be quite spacious, around twenty to thirty square meters. While it might not be able to accommodate hundreds of Zombies, it was reasonable to conclude that most of the missing Zombies were nearby, which eased Zhang Li's mind somewhat.
"We don't have an advantage against a horde of Zombies!" Li Xiaofan interjected.
Facing so many questions, Li Nan was no longer inclined to keep them in suspense. "It's now confirmed that most of the Zombies are in the Hot Water Room on the 10th floor. The hospital has many Liquid Nitrogen Tanks, which are highly explosive. If we can find a way to throw them into the pile of Zombies, we can achieve victory in one fell swoop!"
Li Xiaofan gave a thumbs up. "Awesome! I love this idea!"
Zhang Li also appreciated the ingenuity of using Liquid Nitrogen Tanks to create explosive devices in a situation where ammunition was scarce. He couldn't help but admire Li Nan's cleverness.
Li Nan continued, "I know where to find some medicine. I'll take Liu Ziming and Mo Xiaohui with me to get it while you deal with the Zombies. This way, you can go all out. After you're successful, let's regroup in the lobby!"
