The Zombies in Radiology have all been dealt with, but Li Nan is filled with suspicion. He has never faced a situation where he had to take on five opponents at once; not to mention five crazed Zombies, even taking down five children would be a challenge!
Is there something amiss?
Li Nan's mind is in chaos, but there isn't much time to ponder such questions right now!
Li Nan gently knocks on the small door outside the examination room, "Miss Mo, the danger has been eliminated. You can open the door now!"
Mo Xiaohui outside the examination room hears the commotion but can only cover her ears and pretend not to hear. However, she still has to hold back that small door, leaving her no hands to cover her ears. So she can only symbolically close her eyes and hope for Li Nan's good fortune!
As the noise continues outside, Mo Xiaohui remembers Li Nan's last instruction to take care of herself and Liu Ziming. Thus, she can only passively hide in the examination room, hoping for good luck!
When she hears voices, Mo Xiaohui is overjoyed and immediately pulls open the door, only to be slightly taken aback!
Li Nan stands at the door, his pants and shirt stained with black blood, looking filthy!
Li Nan smiles, "What’s wrong? Can't recognize me after just a few minutes?"
Mo Xiaohui looks surprised, "Did you kill all five of those Zombies?"
Li Nan nods and then lifts Liu Ziming onto his back. "We need to hurry to the Pharmacy Department to find some medicine; our time is tight!"
Mo Xiaohui is at a loss. She has no idea what happened outside the examination room, but thankfully the immediate danger has passed, and they can move on to the next step!
Mo Xiaohui wipes the dirt off Li Nan's face with admiration in her eyes. However, facing Mo Xiaohui makes Li Nan feel somewhat awkward. "Alright, we need to go!"
With Liu Ziming on his back, he ultimately does not reach out for Mo Xiaohui's hand.
Back in the hospital, Li Nan was misunderstood by Gao Xue because of his overly intimate actions with Mo Xiaohui. He doesn't know if there will ever be a chance to clarify that misunderstanding. Therefore, Li Nan instinctively hesitates to get close to Mo Xiaohui again; he doesn't want history to repeat itself if Gao Xue is still alive and they meet again!
Although Li Nan has prepared for the worst, he still harbors a glimmer of hope deep down. He desperately wishes for Gao Xue's safety and hopes she will return to his side, even though that hope seems slim!
Mo Xiaohui notices that Li Nan seems to be avoiding her. To ease the awkwardness, she asks, "How did you kill those five Zombies?"
Li Nan kicks away a few Zombie corpses and clears a path for Mo Xiaohui, leading them out of Radiology.
"I don't even know how I did it. Anyway, at the moment I killed the Zombie, I felt an incredible strength in my body, and I took them down in just a few moves!" Li Nan said vaguely.
Mo Xiaohui chuckled, "You're kidding me. How could that possibly happen?"
Li Nan was speechless. "I don't understand either, but that's the truth!"
Mo Xiaohui's laughter gradually faded. In this situation, Li Nan wouldn't joke with her, but to her ears, what Li Nan said sounded absurd!
However, since Zombies had already appeared, it was understandable that Li Nan could exhibit some extraordinary abilities!
In fact, Mo Xiaohui's doubts were also something Li Nan had considered, but it was just beyond her comprehension.
Mo Xiaohui was wearing a pair of rubber shoes and exposing her long legs, making it quite inconvenient to walk through the pile of corpses, especially with a short skirt that barely reached her knees.
To save Mo Xiaohui some effort, Li Nan kicked away a few Zombie bodies blocking their path. To his surprise, one of the bodies moved more than half a meter without him exerting much force at all!
Li Nan found it unbelievable and immediately tested his strength by clenching his fist and striking the fallen door plank, leaving a small dent in the shape of a fist!
"What’s going on? Has my strength really increased this much?" Li Nan wondered suspiciously.
Mo Xiaohui noticed it too and exclaimed in surprise, "Could it be that you ate spinach?"
"What spinach?" Li Nan asked in confusion, while Mo Xiaohui laughed and said, "Popeye eats spinach to become super strong; it's quite similar to your situation!"
Li Nan couldn't help but burst into laughter, spitting out countless droplets of saliva!
Mo Xiaohui wiped her face and became serious again. "So what exactly is going on?"
Li Nan sighed and said, "It might be something Liu Heping did to me or perhaps symptoms from being infected by the Zombie. I can't explain it clearly, but at least now I have greater strength to better protect you all!"
Li Nan had already told Mo Xiaohui about being infected by the Zombie before, and she wasn't surprised. A non-Zombie Li Nan was still a living person—someone who cared for and protected her. Even if he turned into a Zombie, she wouldn't find it frightening!
In fact, Li Nan had asked Mo Xiaohui why she ended up in this dangerous situation at Jiangbei Hospital tonight; it was merely for an interview—a choice leading towards death. Would she regret it?
Mo Xiaohui responded quite casually, "I initially wanted to delve into the news behind the scenes, but I never expected to personally step into the Hell of No Escape. I have no regrets; I just feel that even if I manage to clarify this news, I don't know if I'll still be alive to convey it to the public, or what the situation outside is like now. Is everything as usual, or is it even more tragic than in Jiangbei Hospital?"
To Li Nan, this sounded quite rational and could serve as a good last word. He didn't know what the outside world was like, but right now, Jiangbei Hospital was fraught with danger. Regardless, Li Nan knew he couldn't escape unscathed; he should at least ensure that these two people are safely sent out!
Now Li Nan finally understood why his fighting power had surged; it turned out there was some unknown reason for his sudden increase in strength. Although he hadn't reached the level of the Green Giant, he estimated that he could probably break three or four red bricks with a single punch!
Li Nan found it quite miraculous. He used to be out of breath after climbing just a few flights of stairs, and now he had transformed into a strongman. Fate is indeed hard to fathom!
Unexpectedly, this had increased Li Nan's strength. Whether this was good or bad remained uncertain, but one thing was undeniable: it was quite useful for fighting Zombies!
As they spoke, Li Nan and Mo Xiaohui quickened their pace, having exited Radiology and heading straight down the corridor towards the Pharmacy Department.
There were only a few Zombies on the seventh floor, and Li Nan had already taken them down. He estimated that they wouldn't encounter any more danger.
Li Nan was cautious; although he quickened his steps, his eyes scanned left and right, fearing that a Zombie might suddenly leap out from some corner and drag Mo Xiaohui away!
Zombies were dangerous, and Li Nan couldn't afford to take risks. Fortunately, the corridor offered a wide view, and he didn't spot any threats!
