Old Tian shouted loudly, his emotions very agitated, seemingly harboring hostility towards Li Nan.
Li Nan was quite surprised by this outcome. He had been attacked by a Zombie twice: the first time on the second floor of the Underground Morgue, and the second time right before the entrance of the blood bank. He had already come to terms with it, but he never expected Old Tian to be so emotionally charged!
Li Nan tried to calm Old Tian again, saying, "I was indeed infected by a Zombie, but for now, there is no immediate danger. You shouldn't worry too much; in any case, I won't drag you down with me!"
Old Tian angrily retorted, "Drag down! Hmph! Just because you say you won't drag me down doesn't mean you won't!"
At that moment, Li Nan vaguely saw a person lying behind Old Tian, and it was a woman!
Li Nan exclaimed in surprise, "Is there someone else in this blood bank?"
Old Tian vehemently denied it, "No, absolutely not!"
Taking a bold step forward, Li Nan approached closer, while Old Tian raised the Baseball Bat in his hand, seemingly ready to swing it at Li Nan at any moment!
Indeed, there was a person behind Old Tian; more accurately, it should be described as a corpse!
Old Tian kicked the body behind him in an attempt to hide it, but he ultimately could not escape Li Nan's gaze. Li Nan's expression froze as he recognized her, "That's Wang Rui. Didn't you say she ran too slowly... I thought she was done for outside with the Zombies... How did her body end up here?"
Old Tian's eyes were extremely bloodshot, almost frenzied. He didn't respond to Li Nan and directly swung the Baseball Bat at him!
Li Nan was horrified; he never imagined that his old friend would turn against him like this. But the reality was undeniable!
"You are a Zombie; I will kill you!" Old Tian shouted as he gathered all his strength and charged at Li Nan!
Li Nan couldn't make sense of what was happening before him, but one thing was certain: things were not as Old Tian claimed; at least he was hiding something.
Just as Li Nan struggled internally with these thoughts, Old Tian's Baseball Bat came crashing down. With a loud thud, it struck Li Nan on the forehead.
Li Nan tried to dodge but ultimately stumbled and took the hit!
The bat pressed against his forehead, and suddenly a stream of blood flowed from his hairline, slowly dripping down to the ground.
With several splattering sounds, it was quite clear and concise. Li Nan's expression remained blank as he stared intently at the person attacking him; however, the other party remained unmoved.
Old Tian struck successfully and was about to swing again, but Li Nan would not let himself be hit again. He saw Old Tian's figure sway, and Old Tian had already missed!
Old Tian did not intend to give up, still gripping the bat with both hands, charging in like a professional athlete!
Li Nan stepped back a distance, cautiously watching the man before him, afraid that a moment of carelessness would lead to another hit!
"Did you kill Wang Rui?" Li Nan questioned sternly, as he could no longer doubt Old Tian's intentions given the current situation!
Old Tian defended himself, saying, "I didn't kill Wang Rui, I swear!"
Li Nan thought he had found a lead and continued to ask, "The body behind you is Wang Rui. If you didn't kill her, then who did? It must have been you who killed your girlfriend with your own hands!"
Old Tian looked terrified, his movements slowing down. He then began to cry, "I didn't kill Wang Rui! When we entered the blood bank, she had already been bitten by a Zombie. She was about to turn into one! I had no choice! If I didn't kill her, I would have to die with her! I don't want to die! I don't want to die!"
Old Tian couldn't help but kneel on the ground, weeping bitterly.
"So for the same reason, you want to kill me too, right?"
"I just want to survive! I just don't want to be infected by a Zombie. Is that wrong?"
Li Nan was speechless; he didn't know how to respond to Old Tian's words and could only softly say, "You've changed. You're not the Old Tian I knew anymore!"
Crying, Old Tian suddenly laughed loudly. "It's not that I've changed; it's that everyone is selfish. Especially when it comes to life and death. Would you allow a ticking time bomb to stay by your side? I'm just trying to seek benefits and avoid harm!"
Hearing this, Li Nan felt that Old Tian was beyond saving. "It seems that after all this time, I really don't understand you at all!"
Old Tian remained kneeling. "When I saw that the person outside was you, I felt a bit relieved, thinking we could escape together. But when I heard you were looking for Hr Negative Blood, I knew following you wouldn't lead to anything good. But since we are friends, I couldn't refuse you and ended up dragging you in. However, I didn't expect that you were also infected by a Zombie!"
Li Nan shook his head. "Well! Given the circumstances, I don't want to say anything more. Once I find Hr Negative Blood, I'll leave immediately. I won't threaten you!"
Old Tian hoarsely raised his head. "Since you've figured everything out, I don't want to say much either. We have different paths; you look for your Hr Negative Blood, but please don't involve me!"
Li Nan sighed deeply; he had never doubted Old Tian's character before. Now that he saw through him at a glance, there was no chance or need for reconciliation anymore!
Li Nan saw that Old Tian's emotions had stabilized and said, "Alright! I won't make things difficult for you. Let's pretend nothing happened and that we never met!"
"Good!" Old Tian bit down on his words, stood up immediately, and no longer tried to conceal the corpse behind him.
Li Nan walked past Old Tian, showing a look of disdain, then observed the surroundings, hoping Liu Ziming could hold on a little longer!
The female corpse lying on the ground had its head smashed into a pulp, clearly indicating that Old Tian had shown no mercy to his girlfriend.
It was unfortunate to encounter such a person, but if Old Tian hadn't treated Wang Rui this way, would he himself have been infected by the Zombie? Would he then become one of the living dead? Humanity is truly unpredictable; while it's understandable to look out for oneself, Li Nan always felt that this Old Tian was too inhumane and utterly insane!
Li Nan didn't delve too deeply into this matter; he just wanted to find Hr Negative Blood as soon as possible to save Liu Ziming's life. Just as he focused his attention on the surroundings, he suddenly felt a heavy blow to the back of his head, as if struck by a solid wooden bat!
Li Nan turned around and saw Old Tian standing behind him, gripping the bat with both hands, his expression resolute, seemingly determined not to let himself be put in danger!
"Why are you doing this? I clearly didn't want to pursue it any further!" Li Nan asked with the last bit of strength from his throat, trembling.
Old Tian smiled, "Killing you will make it easier for me to escape!"
