After taking a few steps, Mo Xiaohui felt that the surrounding environment was indeed unusual. "Why is there no one around? At this time, there shouldn't be anyone missing."
Li Nan explained, "Maybe it's getting late, or perhaps things have been unsettled recently. In any case, there are no people dancing in the square, no one making a fuss, and no one on the streets. It's quite peaceful! They must all be spending time with their families."

Mo Xiaohui understood. "Officer Han has done so much for us; we should go see him!"
Within a hundred meters of Jiangbei Hospital, there was no sign of life, and the sun above was sinking lower in the sky. The unfavorable factors for both Li Nan and Mo Xiaohui became increasingly apparent. "If you want to eat quickly, we have to hurry!" Li Nan recalled that Mo Xiaohui had injured her ankle, so he turned around and picked her up in his arms. "This way you can keep up with me!"
Mo Xiaohui buried her head away, remaining silent, but she enjoyed Li Nan's affectionate gesture.
Li Nan didn't think much of it; he only saw a Zombie chasing after them from behind. He needed to protect himself and this woman; otherwise, the sacrifices made by Zhang Li and the others would be meaningless.
After holding Mo Xiaohui, Li Nan turned to look at the Zombie but found it had already disappeared.
Li Nan was startled. "Did I just see things wrong, or is it...?"
After taking a few steps forward, Li Nan had already left the parking lot area and soon spotted a small Nursery with several unknown vibrant flowers that had already wilted, leaving behind a large patch of half-green grass.
Li Nan hurried to the edge of the garden and noticed that one area of the lawn showed clear signs of being trampled, with several bloodstains around.
Li Nan leaned in to observe the bloodstains, estimating they had dried for over ten hours. "This must have been left by Han Guang. Since there's no body here, Han Guang is likely still alive!"
Mo Xiaohui had already been set down; she bent down to look around and said, "Maybe Han Guang has been rescued. Although there are fewer good Samaritans these days, there are still kind-hearted people out there!"
Li Nan smiled wryly. "He definitely wasn't rescued. Look at these bloodstains—they're intermittent—and there’s only one set of footprints!"
Mo Xiaohui shook her head, "Could it be that Officer Han walked away on his own? How is that possible? Jumping from such a high building and sustaining such serious injuries!"
Li Nan was unconcerned, "This kind of thing depends on a person's will to survive. Some people would definitely die jumping from such a height, while others might survive. It seems Han Guang is one of the former!"
Mo Xiaohui seemed to agree, "We are the same!"
Li Nan did not continue to engage with Mo Xiaohui but followed the blood trail on the lawn. He wanted to confirm one thing: whether Han Guang had escaped danger.
After running about ten meters, Li Nan noticed the blood trail was becoming increasingly faint and completely disappeared behind a green Phoenix Tree.
Li Nan frowned and rushed over. Just as he was in doubt, he was startled to discover a Zombie in his line of sight.
There stood a Zombie behind the Phoenix Tree, its mouth half-open, black blood flowing out, looking terrifying.
Li Nan involuntarily gasped and prepared to defend himself, but the Zombie remained motionless, seemingly already dead.
Li Nan found it hard to believe and stepped forward, just in time to see a hole in the Zombie's forehead, with dried solidified blood oozing out.
Li Nan glanced aside and noticed a blood-soaked wooden stick discarded a few steps away.
"Who killed this Zombie?" Li Nan pondered. The blood trail from Han Guang disappeared behind this tree, which meant this Zombie could very well have been killed by Han Guang!
From the amount of blood lost, it seemed that the injury was not critical. The fact that he could still take down a Zombie while injured indicated that Han Guang still had some skills; at least escaping was not an issue.
The situation outside Jiangbei Hospital was already clear: the Zombie Virus had long since spread. It appeared that when the military sealed off the hospital, Zombies were already rampant outside.
Just considering the hundreds of people infected with the Zombie Virus inside Jiangbei Hospital was terrifying enough; if it were all of Jiangbei City, what kind of horrifying scene would that be?
Li Nan shuddered at the situation he found himself in. He was unwilling to believe it, even though the facts suggested that the Zombie Virus had spread like the flu. How many people would survive was still an unknown.
Looking at the Zombie's corpse before him was truly unsettling. He kicked it to the ground, and with a loud crash, the Zombie's body shattered upon hitting the tiles, limbs scattering everywhere.
Glancing around in confusion, he could no longer see any trace of Han Guang. Li Nan felt a sense of calm wash over him. "As long as I can escape, I hope there will be another chance to meet!"
When he turned back and saw the Zombie's head with a gaping hole in it, he felt a wave of nausea. At that moment, the Zombie's mouth began to move up and down.
"How stubborn! It's still not dead!" Li Nan thought to himself, ready to step on it. Just then, a cockroach crawled out from beneath the Zombie's head.
The cockroach was unusually large; typically, such insects were no bigger than a pinky finger, but this one was about the size of half a fist.
Li Nan shook his head. "A Zombie is already disgusting enough, and now this abnormal cockroach appears. It seems this world has truly changed!"
His left foot, which was about to stomp down, suddenly halted as the cockroach flapped its wings and leaped away, disappearing from sight.
"Forget it! I don't want to dirty my shoes!" Just as Li Nan was about to retract his foot and look for Mo Xiaohui, a sudden scream came from behind the Phoenix Tree.
"Not good!" Li Nan realized something must have happened to Mo Xiaohui and immediately ran back.
The sharp sound had come from the Nursery Area, and without hesitation, he dashed back. When he finally saw Mo Xiaohui, he couldn't help but feel both amused and exasperated.
There was nothing around; not even a single Zombie or a sleazy thug in sight.
Li Nan helplessly asked, "What happened? Why are you screaming?"
Mo Xiaohui pointed to a spot in the grass. "There was a big bug over there! It was really scary! It jumped out all of a sudden and almost landed on me. It was terrifying!"
Li Nan had a gloomy expression. He was quite critical of Mo Xiaohui's behavior, thinking it was overly dramatic for just a bug.
Li Nan shook his head. "I followed the blood trail to the Phoenix Tree over there, and then I lost all traces of Han Guang. I guess he has already gone far away; he should be safe by now!"
Mo Xiaohui still looked frightened. Upon seeing Li Nan, she wanted to throw herself into his arms, but Li Nan awkwardly dodged her, leaving her to fall short.
Mo Xiaohui stared blankly at Li Nan, seemingly confused. "Why? Why did you dodge?"
Li Nan wore an indifferent expression. When he realized that Jiangbei City had likely become a Zombie City, his emotions had already sunk to their lowest point. Seeing Mo Xiaohui's unnecessary antics only confirmed his belief that she was just putting on a show. He no longer felt like engaging with her.
If this were truly the apocalypse, then Li Nan would no longer be an Intern Doctor, and Mo Xiaohui would no longer be a starlet from the television station. Their identities would need to be redefined. At that time, the entire world would be thrown into chaos and reshuffled. Could a petite woman survive in such an apocalypse? Could he survive?
Mo Xiaohui might have sensed Li Nan's distance and instinctively took a few steps back. Li Nan shifted his gaze and suddenly lunged toward Mo Xiaohui, saying, "Be careful, don't back up any further!"
Mo Xiaohui was startled and didn't understand what Li Nan meant. She instinctively turned around to look and saw a grotesque face looming behind her.
"Ah..." Mo Xiaohui screamed. She never expected that after leaving the hospital, there would still be Zombies! And that she would be attacked by one!
