The Black-Furred Spider was rolling on the ground in pain, howling incessantly. Seeing an opportunity, Li Nan decided to press the attack. He jumped out of the vehicle and picked up two Rebar Javelins from the front.
Li Nan had hidden the three Rebar Javelins he obtained outside the city under the back seat of the driver's cabin. After the vehicle was knocked over by the Black-Furred Spider, the remaining two Rebar Javelins were also thrown out.
With a Spear in hand, Li Nan felt invincible. He charged directly at the rolling Black-Furred Spider.
The spider was larger than Li Nan had imagined. Due to previous visibility limitations, he had thought it was only as big as an ox, but now it seemed that creature was at least the size of an adult elephant.
Although Li Nan didn't know where the spider's vital spots were, he knew that the Spear lodged in its rear wouldn't kill it. He needed to act quickly while it was still weak and deliver a fatal blow.
Li Dapeng also sensed something unusual behind him. Turning around, he saw an enormous black mass rolling in pain on the road, with what appeared to be a Rebar sticking out of its rear!
No matter how large the spider was, it was still just an insect. As it rolled in pain, it instinctively curled its eight legs tightly and huddled up, leaving no chance for approach.
After hesitating for a moment, Li Nan realized that trying to eliminate this giant creature once and for all would be quite difficult. Instead, he decided to take advantage of this time to rescue Mo Xiaohui and make their escape.
Setting aside his murderous intent, Li Nan ran towards Mo Xiaohui's location. Meanwhile, Li Dapeng was busy but seemed to have achieved little.
Seeing Li Nan approaching, Li Dapeng wiped the sweat from his brow and said, "There's nothing we can do; we can't get this thing off at all!"
Li Nan frowned. The toughness and flexibility of spider silk were quite strong; using physical means to free Mo Xiaohui would be extremely difficult. If that plan wouldn't work, they needed to find another method!
He recalled that earlier a clump of spider silk had fallen onto the road with a sizzling corrosive sound. From what had happened before, it could be inferred that this spider silk had mild corrosive properties. Since the Asphalt Road surface was alkaline, this spider silk must be acidic. With this thought in mind, Li Nan came up with an idea.
"There's a pile of sand by the roadside; let's move Sister Mo over there!"
Confused by Li Nan's suggestion, Li Dapeng asked, "What do you have in mind?"
Li Nan didn't have time to explain much, only saying, "Give Sister Mo a sand bath!"
The sand is composed of silicon dioxide, which has slight oxidizing properties. Silicon dioxide undergoes a slow chemical reaction in water at room temperature, producing an oxidizing alkaline substance. Although its chemical properties are relatively weak, it can be tried to neutralize acidic substances!
Li Nan didn't mention the specific scientific basis but asked Li Dapeng, "Do you need to urinate now?"
Li Dapeng nodded in confusion, "I can still hold it!"
Li Nan immediately unbuttoned his pants and said to Li Dapeng, "Hurry up and urinate; we are short on time!"
In an instant, two streams of warm urine were poured onto the pile of sand. Without a moment's hesitation, Li Nan pushed the restrained Mo Xiaohui into the sand mixed with warm urine and began to rub the sand over the sticky liquid on her body!
"Is this useful?" Li Dapeng asked Li Nan, who replied, "I'm not sure; we can only try!"
About a minute later, some of the sticky liquid on Mo Xiaohui's body had disappeared, and Li Dapeng shouted loudly, "That thing... is coming!"
Just as Li Nan was feeling pleased, he suddenly heard a crisp sound behind him as something fell to the ground.
Li Nan cursed inwardly and turned around. The Black-Furred Spider had already charged at them like an angry bull.
The spider moved differently from humans; its eight long legs wriggled together as it lunged toward Li Nan and the others.
Li Nan thought quickly: "You help Sister Mo get rid of that layer; I'll distract the spider!"
Li Dapeng nodded but said, "Although I've never seen a spider this big, I've dealt with small ones before. Spiders have compound eyes and excellent vision, so to deal with it, we need to attack from behind!"
Li Nan held two Rebar Javelins and without hesitation, turned to face the large spider charging at him. "Hey! Buddy, want to fight? I'm here to greet you!"
Unfortunately, the Black-Furred Spider could not understand human language, so it was unaware of the provocation in Li Nan's words. However, this spider was not a mindless creature; it had a brain and could hold grudges!
If the spider could speak, it would surely shout, "You filthy bastard, how dare you ambush me! That's just despicable!"
But the spider was not human; it was merely an arthropod insect.
The Black-Furred Spider's eyes glowed red, and its eye sockets were filled with countless rotating lenses—this meant it had compound eyes that allowed it to observe its surroundings in a full 360 degrees without any blind spots. It would not allow a prey within its grasp to escape!
Li Nan stood before the spider, and although the spider was massive, it hesitated to attack immediately due to its previous setback. It was sizing up Li Nan’s movements, indicating that insects could possess some level of intelligence!
Now Li Nan realized that under the watchful gaze of the spider's large eyes, he had no chance to strike. Any movement would be detected by the creature, confirming what Li Dapeng had said!
As Li Nan faced off against the Black-Furred Spider, he slowly shifted his feet to distance himself from Mo Xiaohui and Li Dapeng. Just as he moved, the Black-Furred Spider seemed to sense an opportunity and immediately spat out a mass of sticky silk from its mouth.
The silk was translucent and light, clearly a high-quality compound. However, Li Nan had no time to admire nature's craftsmanship; he quickly dodged the Black-Furred Spider's attack with a swift movement. The spider, undeterred, lunged forward aggressively!
Li Nan's two legs could not match the speed of the Black-Furred Spider’s eight legs; he was at a disadvantage in terms of speed.
After taking a few steps, Li Nan realized he could no longer compete in speed. He quickly changed direction and leaped onto the overturned truck.
The Black-Furred Spider had already shot several strands of silk from its mouth, but its target was not Li Nan; instead, it aimed for the truck's body. With force, it began to pull the overturned vehicle using its silk.
Standing on top of the truck, Li Nan now had a chance to see the rear of the Black-Furred Spider. Although one of his Rebar Javelins had been thrown away by it, the area around its anus was already damaged; what once was a delicate opening now resembled a spring flowing with green water!
To tame this giant spider, one must start from the rear!
The Black-Furred Spider was keenly observing Li Nan's movements, while the large truck had already been pulled quite far away.
Standing on top of the truck, Li Nan suddenly realized the Black-Furred Spider's intentions; it was trying to drag the truck towards the culvert behind it!
"No way! If it gets into that culvert, it'll truly turn the home field into an away game, and I won't have any advantage left!" With this thought in mind, Li Nan immediately used his Rebar Javelin to poke at the spider silk entangling the truck. However, despite his efforts, the silk didn't budge at all!
"Damn it! It's really sturdy!" In that instant, Li Nan spotted a glimmer of opportunity. He noticed several strands of silk wrapped around the truck were being pulled into the spider's mouth, and the strands were quite close together. If he dashed along the silk, he might be able to blind one of its eyes!
At that moment, Li Nan threw a Spear to create a diversion on his left side. In an instant, he held another Spear in his hand and jumped onto two parallel strands of spider silk!
Without a moment's hesitation, Li Nan dashed forward with a speed he had never experienced before. Just as he was about to raise his Rebar Javelin to stab into the Black-Furred Spider's eye, he suddenly saw a massive Mastiff blocking his path.
At that moment, one Spear against one Mastiff was not enough. Before Li Nan could react, he lost his footing and fell down.
The spider's two front legs were as strong as those of a crab and came crashing towards Li Nan.
Li Nan fell beneath the Black-Furred Spider but quickly rolled over and ended up behind it. Suddenly, with all his strength, he thrust the Rebar Javelin directly into the softest part of the spider's abdomen!
After piercing through a layer of black fur, Li Nan felt as if he had penetrated the spider's vital organs. Immediately, a sticky green fluid gushed out from the wound!
The liquid splattered all over Li Nan's face; however, he did not dodge but continued to push hard, wanting to give this giant creature a fatal blow!
"Is it still not dead?" The Spear in Li Nan's hand was no longer embedded in the spider's body; only the grip remained for him to hold onto. Yet despite the pain, the spider showed no signs of dying!
The Black-Furred Spider lowered its head, frantically snapping its jaws, charging straight at Li Nan.
Li Nan wiped the grime off his face with one hand and then leaned back, rolling out from under the spider. Just when he thought the spider was doomed, it lunged at him again!
"Damn! Is this bug really that tough?"
Without any weapons, Li Nan could only temporarily evade the spider's attacks. Although his previous strike hadn't dealt a fatal blow to the Black-Furred Spider, its speed had noticeably slowed down!
At that moment, two figures stood behind the spider—Li Dapeng and Mo Xiaohui.
Seeing that Mo Xiaohui was safe, Li Nan felt a surge of joy. However, the next moment, he saw Li Dapeng's actions and couldn't help but feel a bit anxious!
Li Dapeng had fashioned a rubber slingshot in his hand, with a sharp stone set in place, aiming directly at the Black-Furred Spider!
With a whoosh, the stone was released and struck right into the already damaged rear of the Black-Furred Spider, penetrating through and flying deep inside!
The Black-Furred Spider immediately went into a frenzy, shaking its head and swiftly turning to crawl towards Li Dapeng and Mo Xiaohui!
