By noon, a plume of smoke finally rose from the edge of the tent, and Mo Xiaohui and Lingdang'er were bustling about, having finally prepared a pot of rice.
As the lid was lifted, the aroma of rice wafted through the air. Fatty had already brought over a bowl and asked, "So, is it ready to eat?"

As she spoke, she had already filled a bowl with steaming rice and handed it to Fatty.

At that moment, Li Nan was sitting on a brick, facing away from everyone and gazing into the distance.
Fatty approached him and said, "Nan, it's time to eat!"

Li Nan looked at Fatty and then took the bowl and chopsticks. "Get me another bowl of water; I don't know if you're trying to choke me."
Fatty grinned, "Who would dare? I'll go get it!"
At the opposite position, Mo Xiaohui saw a smile gradually appear on Li Nan's face and couldn't help but smile as well. Soon, everyone in the camp had a bowl full of rice in their hands.

Among the crowd, a middle-aged woman raised her hand and said softly, "I can't handle a gun or kill zombies; I..."

There were no objections at all; thus, Li Nan's self-nomination as the camp leader was unanimously approved.
Then Li Nan continued, "Although there are only forty-eight people in the camp right now, managing everything cannot be done single-handedly. Therefore, I have some personnel appointments to make. Half of the previous combat personnel will form an action team responsible for external affairs and resource searches. Fatty will be the team leader while Long-Faced Man will serve as deputy leader.
Another group will become the armed team tasked with protecting the camp's safety; Bitter Melon will be the captain and A Fei will be deputy captain. Additionally, another portion will form a transport team responsible for mechanical transport within the camp; the captain will be Baldy with Mighty Bull as deputy captain. The remaining individuals will make up the logistics team; Mo Xiaohui will serve as captain while Lingdang'er will be deputy captain. As for Lin Hai, he will oversee all firearms management within the camp independently. Once the camp develops further down the line, we can make specific arrangements and adjustments. Does anyone have any objections to this arrangement?"
Although Li Nan emphasized democracy throughout his speech, does true democracy exist in this world? Probably not. Moreover, Li Nan did not intend to implement any so-called democratic system like those in Europe or America. A team must be led by a lion; at this stage, Li Nan believed himself to be that lion capable of guiding the camp towards a bright future.
