It is said that one hand cannot clap alone, and Li Nan was curious to see what other tricks this girl had up her sleeve after her beauty strategy. He didn't expect to be caught off guard, almost falling into her trap again.
Li Nan leaned closer, grinning widely, his eyes gleaming with mischief, resembling a lecherous uncle. The girl in front of him appeared to be around seventeen or eighteen years old, with a fair complexion and a petite mouth that made her look adorable. Her large eyes were fixed on the ground, as if she had suffered a great injustice.
"Can we talk now?" Li Nan thought to himself, stopping in his tracks. The girl slightly parted her lips and said softly, "Come a little closer!"
If he moved any closer, he would be right up against her. Li Nan's eyes darted around before he replied, "Since you put it that way, I guess I have no choice but to comply!"
As he spoke, Li Nan pressed his face close to hers, just 0.01 centimeters apart.
"Now tell me, what companions do you have in Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa?"
The girl hesitated for a moment before coyly saying, "My companions are..."
In an instant, she changed her tone and shouted, "Die!"
With that command, the girl’s bound hands suddenly broke free and struck out sideways.
Li Nan was taken aback and instinctively leaned back while raising his arms to defend against the attack.
Although the girl was small and slender, her strength and speed were impressive. Suddenly, a sharp blade extended from her right hand as she lunged at Li Nan.
The blade sliced through the air, drawing drops of crimson blood as Li Nan stood firm, noticing a long cut on his left arm that was bleeding profusely.
Li Nan chuckled bitterly. "I didn't expect you to be quite capable. But at this moment, do you really think you can escape?"
The girl retorted defiantly, "If I can kill you, I won't need to escape alive."
Li Nan clicked his tongue in disbelief. What kind of reasoning was that? It was just a minor conflict in a cave; there was no need to go all out!
Just as the girl prepared to attack again, Li Nan suddenly shouted, "Hold on! Let me say a few words first, alright?"
The young girl stiffened, carefully observing Li Nan's movements, and guessed that he probably had no ulterior motives. She said, "If you have any last words, hurry up and say them!"
Li Nan found it amusing but maintained a serious demeanor as he replied, "No need for last words; I just want to make another guess. If I'm not mistaken, you came to the Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa with your family, only to find yourselves caught in a Zombie outbreak, trapped here. Later, your family members were either infected by Zombies or went missing, while the remaining people in the Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa formed factions. In a desperate situation, they chose to eat their own companions, but you are different."
The young girl's face turned pale, and her throat suddenly became hoarse. "How do you know?"
Li Nan sighed bitterly. "I know quite a lot. In the end, there are two groups of Survivors in this Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa: one led by you, the Self-Reliance Faction, and the other led by others, the Cannibal Faction. Unfortunately, your group is too small, and the few companions you had were captured and eaten by the other faction, right?"
The girl let out a small sound and let her hands drop weakly. In an instant, her previously high fighting spirit vanished without a trace.
Li Nan straightened his body and continued speaking. "The cave I accidentally stumbled into should be your stronghold. I suspect that after the apocalypse, that filthy cave with no water or electricity is hardly suitable for living. Only a certain type of person would be there—to avoid the Cannibal Faction outside. That's why when I fell into that Pit, you appeared immediately; you were already in that cave."
The girl suddenly grinned and raised her head defiantly. "Are you Sherlock Holmes? How do you know everything? Who told you all this?"
Li Nan spread his hands. "I'm not Sherlock Holmes, nor did anyone tell me anything. The reasoning just came to me. There are definitely more Survivors in this Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa. If you are with them, then when I fell into the Pit, there should have been more than just you appearing. So I deduced that you are different from the other Survivors. Based on the bloodstains I saw earlier in a Bordello in the cave, it seems there was a struggle there—possibly even deaths. What could a Piao Guest and a lady argue about? So I guessed that another group attacked you and your companions. Now it seems that there are no companions left in that cave, which means they must have died long ago. In this environment, killing usually happens for two reasons: to fight over territory or food or because someone sees you as food themselves. The girl whimpered slightly and asked, "Who exactly are you? Why did you come to this Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa?"
"I told you before; my name is Li Nan. I'm not a bad person. As for my purpose here at the Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa, it's quite obvious—I'm here to claim territory. But I don't kill easily and certainly won't eat anyone!"
The girl remained skeptical. "That's impossible! If you don't eat people, how could you have survived until now? How could you be so healthy and strong?"
"That's easy to explain. Even with the apocalypse upon us and Zombies rampant, much of humanity's old civilization still exists along with most of the social resources; that's how we survived—and we're doing quite well. We had a camp before that was secure and safe but had to relocate after being attacked by mutated monsters; that's how we ended up here!"
The girl clicked her tongue in surprise. "What mutated monsters? You say you have a camp? Are you their leader? Can you guarantee their survival?"
A glimmer of hope appeared in her eyes as Li Nan nodded. "I am their leader. As for the mutated monsters, it's normal for someone like you who has been holed up in this Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa not to know much about them; so I won't elaborate further. Regarding life at the camp, I believe my brothers and I can ensure it—especially since we have friends and family there; we will do everything we can!"
The girl smiled knowingly. "If that's true, it would be wonderful!"
Li Nan patted his chest and said confidently, "What I'm saying is true! If you're willing to join us, you're more than welcome!"
The young girl tentatively extended her palm and softly said, "My name is Wen Jing!"
Li Nan shook her hand and chuckled, "You can't be just Wen Jing. From what I see, with your skills, ordinary men wouldn't dare to approach you."
Wen Jing smiled awkwardly, while Li Nan explained, "In my territory, there are no rules. Women are not playthings for men’s enjoyment; everyone is equal, and we build a harmonious society together!"
Although Wen Jing had never been outside the Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa, the distortion of human nature should be a common sight. Therefore, Li Nan felt it necessary to explain himself. After all, there had been such a big misunderstanding before, and if he wanted to clear the air now, he needed to show some sincerity.
Wen Jing opened her mouth and said, "I previously regarded you all as invaders, no different from those cannibalistic villains. That's why I wanted to kill you. Later, I realized you are the leader among them, and your actions are indeed different from others. You don’t take advantage of women and aren’t bloodthirsty. After hearing what you said, I think I can trust you, right?"
Li Nan smiled, "You can absolutely trust me; I'm your uncle! Although sometimes I might seem a bit lewd, my true nature is that of an upright good uncle. I don’t lie, especially not to young girls!"
With Li Nan's teasing, Wen Jing's tense nerves relaxed. She then said, "I am willing to help you take down this Peach Blossom Hot Spring Villa!"
Just then, from behind the broken door, Fatty suddenly poked his head in and laughed, "Um, I hope I'm not interrupting something good here?"
Li Nan turned around upon seeing Fatty and immediately scolded him, "Stop messing around all day long!"
Fatty explained, "I saw no one in the office earlier and guessed that Brother Nan must be here. Sure enough! But don’t worry; I won’t tell Sister Mo about this."
Upon hearing this, Li Nan lost all patience and shouted, "Get to the point!"
Fatty changed his tone and said, "We caught a live one!"
Li Nan immediately smiled and asked, "Why didn't you say so sooner? Where is he?"
"Sent him to the previous office!"
Li Nan turned around and headed straight for the office while Wen Jing stretched her limbs and followed him.
Seeing this scene, Fatty clicked his tongue and remarked, "Brother Nan really knows how to handle women. In such a short time, he has successfully turned an enemy into a friend. This efficiency is truly impressive..."
Li Nan rushed into the office and saw a ragged man tied up and pinned to the ground.
Seeing this scene, Li Nan couldn't help but smile. He immediately pulled over a swivel chair, sat down steadily, and asked the bald man beside him, "What's going on? Tell me about it!"
The bald man suddenly kicked the ragged man hard, shouting, "Behave yourself!" Then he turned to Li Nan and explained, "Here's the thing: this guy sneaked into the front building, probably trying to spy on military secrets.
