Josen was furious about Qin Dali's failure upon his return. He had witnessed Qin Dali's skills; even the combined strength of his four bodyguards couldn't withstand two minutes of Qin Dali's attack. For someone like him to fail, how formidable must Xin Yi be?
Josen was extremely agitated, wishing he could personally tear Xin Yi apart. However, none of his subordinates were a match for him. This frustration made him pace around the room like a wild beast cornered and on the verge of madness.
"Get the hell out of here! A bunch of useless fools!" Josen shouted impatiently as he saw several bodyguards and Qin Dali still standing in the room. Upon seeing Josen's anger, the bodyguards quickly exited without a word, while Qin Dali opened his mouth but ultimately said nothing.
"Still not leaving?! Are you waiting for a bonus?" Josen yelled again as he caught sight of someone still standing in the room. Startled by the sudden outburst, Qin Dali felt a flash of anger in his eyes before turning and walking out without looking back. After shouting, Josen turned to see Qin Dali's retreating figure and paused for a moment before resuming his irritated demeanor.
Outside the room, Qin Dali handed a set of keys to one of Josen's bodyguards and said somewhat dejectedly, "Brother Song, please pass these keys to Qiao Shao. Also, thank you all for your care during this time."
"What's wrong? Dali, are you leaving?" asked Brother Song with a puzzled expression.
"Yes, I think Qiao Shao no longer needs me."
"How could that be? Qiao Shao has always regarded you as his ace; he wouldn't let you go easily unless it was absolutely necessary."
Qin Dali shook his head helplessly and replied, "It's my decision to leave; it has nothing to do with Qiao Shao."
"Then why? It's just one failure; it's not a big deal. Who can guarantee everything will go smoothly? Brother, don't take it to heart," Brother Song comforted as he patted Qin Dali on the shoulder.
"No! I've made up my mind." Qin Dali firmly placed the keys into Brother Song's hands and said resolutely, "If there's an opportunity in the future, I'll treat you all to drinks." With that, Qin Dali stepped out of Josen's luxurious villa.
"Sigh, this Dali is just so stubborn," Brother Song murmured to himself as he watched Qin Dali disappear from view.
In fact, Qin Dali had been recommended to Josen by Brother Song. Recently, Brother Song had gone to help Josen with some matters near the train station when he noticed a crowd surrounding a burly man holding a little girl who appeared to be about a year old. It is human nature to be curious about commotion, and Brother Song was no exception; having completed his task, he decided to join in and see what was happening.
Although surrounded by people, the man in the crowd showed no signs of fear; instead, he looked furious as he scanned the faces around him, seemingly ready to explode with rage.
At this moment, a few people in the crowd were eager to try their luck. A blond-haired man shouted at a big guy in the crowd, "Wei Ge, just take care of this punk. Look at him, he probably has weak legs and is just putting on an act."
The man called Wei Ge nodded and cursed at the man in the middle, "Are you going to pay or not? Hitting my brother is no joke. Don't you know who rules this area around the train station?"
"I already told you I apologized to him. Besides, isn't he fine? What do I need to pay for?" The man in the middle was completely unfazed by Wei Ge's intimidation.
In fact, Wei Ge and his gang were local thugs who made a living by scalping tickets, scamming people, and pickpocketing around the train station. This area was a mix of all sorts of people, and most were just passing through, unwilling to get involved in trouble. Therefore, Wei Ge's gang thrived here, but they didn't expect to encounter someone fearless today.
Seeing that this person was so disrespectful, Wei Ge angrily said, "What kind of nonsense is that? If I accidentally slept with your wife one day, would you just let it go with an apology?" Hearing this, the nearby thugs burst into laughter. Wei Ge stood tall with pride, pleased with his own joke.
However, he did not realize that his words were about to change his life forever. The man in the crowd's expression changed dramatically; he gently set down the little girl he was holding and slowly took off his shirt to wrap her up. He softly said to her, "Yuer, be good. Let Daddy carry you. Close your eyes for a moment, okay?" The little girl obediently nodded. He lifted her onto his back and tied his sleeves around his chest while she closed her eyes.
At this moment, the man was only wearing a military green tank top that revealed his muscular arms and chest. He looked up at Wei Ge coldly and said, "I was going to let you go, but your words are too foul. You must pay the price!"
Wei Ge was momentarily intimidated by his aura. However, thinking about how many people were on his side and that the other party was alone with a child on his back, he gained courage and shouted, "Brothers! Get him! Beat him to death!"
But before his men could even move, the man had already leaped in front of Wei Ge and landed a powerful punch. Wei Ge's nose instantly turned into a mess of flesh on his already unremarkable face as blood gushed out. Wei Ge cried out in pain and raised the steel pipe in his hand to strike back when suddenly there was a loud crack; one of his legs had been kicked out from under him at the knee. The steel pipe fell from Wei Ge's hands with a clang as he rolled on the ground clutching his leg while wailing, "My leg! My leg!"
This entire process happened within seconds. The group of thugs nearby were stunned; some still held their weapons aloft but were frozen in shock as they gaped at the unbelievable scene before them until someone shouted loudly, "Kill him! Avenge Wei Ge!" Only then did they react and hurriedly grabbed their weapons to surround the man.
The man shouted loudly, "Come on!" His body began to weave quickly through the crowd. After a few minutes, over a dozen people lay sprawled on the ground in various positions, groaning while clutching different parts of their bodies until a sharp police siren rang out. Only then did he stop fighting, grab some luggage from the ground, and dart into a nearby alley like a gust of wind, disappearing in an instant.
Although he easily shook off the police, one person found it hard to escape—Brother Song—who had been watching from the sidelines. Seeing how powerful this person's Kung Fu was and recognizing that it was all genuine combat skills typically trained in special forces units made Brother Song eager to connect with this fellow soldier.
Given Brother Song's agility, he should have struggled to keep up with the man ahead; however, he relied on his familiarity with the terrain and noticed that the man was carrying luggage and had a child on his back. After navigating through several alleys and running for quite some distance, Brother Song managed to stay right behind him.
"You've followed me this far; what do you want?" The man finally stopped in an alley and asked Brother Song.
Brother Song followed behind, panting for a while before he spoke, "Brother, don't misunderstand, I just want to be friends with you."
"Oh? Why?" The man's puzzled gaze swept over Brother Song.
"Well, how should I put it? Let me ask you, are you a retired special forces soldier? I’ll tell you, I’m also a retired special forces soldier from the Heavenly Pride Wolf Special Forces." Brother Song decided to get straight to the point; with someone as straightforward as this man, beating around the bush wouldn’t work.
"Oh? So that means we are comrades?" The man's face suddenly lit up with surprise. The Heavenly Pride Wolf Special Forces was a legendary unit; in Wolf Warrior, there was no mission that couldn't be accomplished. He had always been proud of being part of Heavenly Pride. Such a unit was not something just any soldier could join; everyone who entered Wolf Warrior had gone through layers of assessments, selections, and rigorous training. As a passionate member of Heavenly Pride, he felt proud to have been part of Wolf Warrior, so encountering a fellow veteran from Wolf Warrior brought him immense joy.
The two immediately exchanged a fist bump on each other's chests, which was a unique greeting among Wolf Warrior members. Instead of shaking hands, brothers greeted each other with a fist bump; this was the proper way for men to show respect. After they bumped fists, they couldn't help but laugh heartily at each other.
A bold life doesn't need pleasantries. The two then found a small tavern where they chatted about their experiences in the military while drinking liquor. Through their conversation, Brother Song learned that the man's name was Qin Dali, and he wasn't from Longchuan. He had just arrived from A City in the north today. Who would have thought that at the train station he would run into those clueless guys from Wei Ge who tried to swindle him? A fight broke out immediately. Accompanying Qin Dali was his daughter, named Qin Siyu, who was only one and a half years old. When Brother Song asked about Qin Dali's wife, his mood instantly dropped to freezing point; his eyes turned red as he hurriedly hugged his daughter and kissed her fiercely to cover up his tears. Brother Song noticed everything and understood that he had some sad memories, so he chose not to press further. Who says men don’t shed tears easily? In truth, it’s just that they haven’t reached the moment of sorrow yet!
Since Qin Dali originally came to Longchuan looking for work, Brother Song recommended him to Josen. He thought everyone would enjoy working together, but after trying out Qin Dali's skills in Kung Fu, Josen didn’t hire him as his bodyguard; he only asked Brother Song to arrange accommodation for him, saying he would call on him when needed.
Later on, Qin Dali indeed helped Josen accomplish several impressive tasks, and Josen was quite satisfied. However, dealing with Xin Yi did not go as smoothly as anticipated. Josen got angry and started cursing; he didn’t understand that this would cause Qin Dali to leave.
But what Josen didn’t realize was that unlike his other bodyguards who tolerated him, Qin Dali wouldn’t put up with disrespect from anyone, even if it was from his own boss because he was Qin Dali.
