"President Shu, Assistant Wang, you two go to my car first," Xin Yi said, then leaned closer to Shu Rui and whispered, "Call the police." Shu Rui glanced at Xin Yi, then walked out with Wang Fang, while Qin Dali's gaze followed Wang Fang until they disappeared from sight.
"You, you, go drag Gao Jinlong in!" Xin Yi ordered two bodyguards of Gao Jinlong.
To Xin Yi's surprise, the two bodyguards obediently walked out. With a figure like that, it was wise to comply; after all, he wasn't afraid of guns. If he was displeased, he could easily take their lives with a single move. It was better to just do as told. A moment later, Gao Jinlong, still unconscious, was brought in.
"Throw him on the ground! Go get some water!" Xin Yi commanded again. Gao Jinlong was tossed onto the floor, and the two bodyguards hurriedly ran out to find water. After a while, they returned with a broken flowerpot containing some dirty water collected from a puddle outside. At least it was water; not using urine was quite merciful towards Gao Jinlong.
The dirty water splashed onto Gao Jinlong's colorful face. The punch from Qin Dali had given him an unintentional free cosmetic surgery—though it was a failed masterpiece. Gao Jinlong groaned a couple of times before opening his eyes, but it was hard to tell since both eyes were swollen like piles of rotten flesh, leaving only a slit visible.
Gao Jinlong glanced around and quickly got up. Since Qin Dali had only hit his head and other parts were unharmed, he still felt lively.
"What the hell are you all doing? Why aren't you arresting these two?" After getting up, Gao Jinlong began to yell at the bodyguards. However, despite his anger, he instinctively hid behind them; that punch had been too fierce, and he didn't want to experience it again.
Strangely enough, the bodyguards did not move but kept their heads down. Gao Jinlong sensed something was off—were these bodyguards playing both sides? Had they turned against him?
"Bring him to the front!" Xin Yi said.
As the two bodyguards reached out to pull Gao Jinlong forward, they were met with his narrowed eyes and immediately hesitated. After all those years under his oppressive rule, Gao Jinlong still held considerable power over them. The two bodyguards exchanged glances and decided to step back instead of pulling him forward. Seeing this, everyone else also collectively retreated. As a result, Gao Jinlong found himself standing at the front.
Gao Jinlong felt furious; he never expected that the people he had spent so much money on would turn against him at such a critical moment. But what could he do now? He had no choice but to face this head-on. He straightened his chest and shouted loudly, "Who are you? What do you want?"
Xin Yi remained silent, simply staring at Gao Jinlong with increasingly intense killing intent in her eyes. Under her gaze, Gao Jinlong felt a chill run down his spine; his back was already drenched in sweat. Although he hadn't witnessed Xin Yi's skills firsthand, just her cold gaze told him she was a ruthless killer. If someone didn't frequently kill others, they wouldn't have such dense killing intent in their eyes. Gao Jinlong knew he wouldn't escape today; however, he didn't want to die just yet—he still had so much money left to spend and several young mistresses waiting for him. He couldn't just die like this; it wasn't fair! If he had known this would happen, he wouldn't have fought over properties or kidnapped anyone.
"Speak! How do you want to die?" Xin Yi said coldly, her tone icy enough to freeze shards of ice.
"Damn it! I'll fight you!" Gao Jinlong roared as he lunged for the gun on the ground. He prepared for a desperate struggle; since death seemed inevitable anyway, if he could grab the gun, there might still be a slim chance of survival.
However, Xin Yi would not give him this opportunity. Just as Gao Jinlong lunged forward, Xin Yi raised a hand, and a small knife flew out, piercing through Gao Jinlong's palm. Gao Jinlong let out a loud shout and switched to his left hand to grab the gun, but Xin Yi raised his hand again, and Gao Jinlong's left palm was pierced as well.
"Since you like using guns, I'll accommodate you," Xin Yi said coldly as he walked in front of Gao Jinlong, stepping on his hands. He leaned down and pulled out the knives embedded in both of his hands. As the knives were removed, blood gushed from Gao Jinlong's hands, causing him so much pain that tears streamed down his face. However, Xin Yi paid no mind to it; he wiped the blood off the knives onto Gao Jinlong's clothes before putting them away. He then picked up the gun from the ground, inspected it, and loaded a bullet.
"Do you really dare to kill me?" Gao Jinlong's voice, initially threatening, was now filled with deep fear.
"What do you think?" Xin Yi replied as he grabbed the collar of Gao Jinlong's shirt and effortlessly dragged him outside. A nearly two-hundred-pound mass of flesh felt like a moldy mop in Xin Yi's grip, leaving a trail of blood behind as he dragged him along. Just before exiting, Xin Yi turned back to Qin Dali and said, "These few inside are up to you."
Upon hearing this from Xin Yi, Qin Dali laughed wickedly and turned around to look at the group of terrified henchmen. As soon as Xin Yi took a few steps outside, they could hear the sounds of wailing coming from inside the building. Xin Yi could feel that Gao Jinlong's body was trembling.
Continuing to drag Gao Jinlong, they reached the wall where he was thrown onto the ground. "This is it," Xin Yi muttered to himself.
Suddenly, Gao Jinlong sprang up from the ground and knelt before Xin Yi, exclaiming, "Big brother! Don't kill me! I can give you money! A lot of money!" Seeing that Xin Yi only looked at him coldly without responding, Gao Jinlong added, "There are women too—beautiful women... many of them for you to choose from!"
Still receiving no response from Xin Yi, who continued to stare coldly at him, Gao Jinlong grew anxious. He wiped his face covered in blood, sweat, and tears and said, "How about you state your terms? I will agree to anything I can do as long as you don't kill me!"
Xin Yi smiled slightly and simply said two words: "Too late." Grabbing a handful of Gao Jinlong's hair, he pressed his hefty head against the wall and raised his gun to the back of his head. "You have five seconds left; cherish it," said Xin Yi.
"Five... four... three... two... one..." Xin Yi counted slowly...
"Bang..." Gao Jinlong's hefty body trembled twice before slumping against the wall corner, a foul liquid oozing from his body and pooling into a depression on the ground.
The wailing sirens grew louder as three police cars rushed into the Cement Factory, followed by a police van transporting prisoners. A dozen armed police officers exited their vehicles, led by a middle-aged man in his forties. Upon seeing this, Shu Rui hurriedly got out of the car to greet him, calling out to the leading man: "Uncle Li!"
"Xiaorui! Where are the bad guys?" The middle-aged man quickly scanned the scene but only saw Gao Jinlong slumped in the corner.
"Uncle Li, that over there is the mastermind, and the others are inside the house."
"Xiao Wang, take a few people inside and bring those in the house out!" The middle-aged man commanded, then turned to Shu Rui and asked, "Xiaorui, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, luckily he arrived in time." Shu Rui smiled and pointed to Xin Yi not far away, calling out, "Xin Yi, come here for a moment."
"Boyfriend?" The middle-aged man asked with a smile before Xin Yi got closer. It seemed that not only women but even middle-aged men who were police officers could be so nosy; it truly was a world full of curiosity!
"Hehe." Shu Rui smiled noncommittally, but her eyes were filled with tenderness as she watched Xin Yi approach.
"Xin Yi, this is Uncle Li, the captain of the H City Criminal Police Team... Uncle Li, this is Xin Yi." Shu Rui introduced. They shook hands briefly, and Captain Li gave Xin Yi a meaningful glance, which she pretended not to notice.
Several bodyguards were brought out of the house, or rather dragged out since none of them could stand steadily. Finally, Qin Dali was seen being escorted out by two police officers. One of the officers said to Captain Li, "Boss, this guy is ruthless; he beat these people into a pulp. When we went in, he was still hitting them. I estimate these guys will need to go to the hospital."
"Xiaorui, who is this person..." Captain Li asked.
"He's a good person; he acted bravely," Shu Rui replied.
"Oh?" Captain Li responded and asked Qin Dali, "Did you do this to all these people?"
"I did," Qin Dali said loudly with his chest puffed out as he glanced at Xin Yi.
"Not bad; have you trained?"
"..." Qin Dali remained silent.
"Hey! I'm talking to you! Answer!" Captain Li shouted, asserting his authority.
"……" Qin Dali remained silent, glaring up at Captain Li.
Seeing this, Xin Yi hurried over to mediate: "Uncle Li, he's my friend, he came from the army."
"Oh? Came from the army?" Captain Li took a couple of steps forward, circling around Qin Dali and asking, "Young man, what's your name? Which unit did you come from? You've got some skills." However, this time his tone was much more relaxed.
Qin Dali glanced at Xin Yi again, who nodded at him. Only then did Qin Dali respond, "Qin Dali! Heavenly Pride Wolf Special Forces!"
"Good! Not bad! No wonder you're trained by the army; you have a sense of justice. Thank you!" Captain Li's tone had turned into genuine admiration.
"Boss, this fat guy has passed out and is reeking of urine... He’s so cowardly yet still involved in criminal activities. At his age, he’s still wetting himself," two detectives carried the unconscious Gao Jinlong over, one of them muttering to Captain Li.
Captain Li looked at Gao Jinlong and said, "This scumbag has finally fallen into my hands. This time we have both the person and the evidence; let’s see how he can escape this. Xiao Wang! Take him to the car! Wrap it up!"
Captain Li was pleased; this time he could likely convict Gao Jinlong and rid H City of a menace. Moreover, it would add a significant highlight to his career as a detective.
What awaits Gao Jinlong and his accomplices will be severe legal punishment. Kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms, attempted rape—these are just the charges that can be confirmed this time. If nothing unexpected happens, the police's previous evidence against him will also find a breakthrough through this case. Poor Gao Jinlong is very likely to spend the rest of his glorious life behind bars.
