"Alright," Xin Yi readily agreed to Ma Huateng's humble request. It's just taking on a little brother; I have thousands of them back in Binhai, but not a single one since coming to Yongzhou. "Since you've decided to follow me, I'll assign you a task," Xin Yi said. "If you do it well, I promise I won't treat you poorly in the future."
"What task?" Ma Huateng felt a bit nervous. He hoped it wasn't something like taking out Yong Ge. If that's the case, I'd rather run away on my own.
"What I need you to do is stay home and wait. If anyone comes looking for me through you, just tell them where I live or bring them along," Xin Yi explained.
"I wouldn't dare! I really wouldn't dare, Li Ge," Ma Huateng was terrified. He thought Li Ge was joking and feared that he was being set up by Yong Ge as a spy to leak their whereabouts for future retaliation. But I'm really not! So he quickly clarified, "How could I ever leak your whereabouts? Even if they beat me to death, I wouldn't say a word!" Although even Ma Huateng didn't believe this himself, he had to express his loyalty at this moment.
"I'm serious," Xin Yi said sincerely.
"I'm serious too," Ma Huateng replied even more earnestly.
"What I mean is that you should stay at home with your phone on. If anyone asks about me, just tell them where I'm living now! That way they can find me quickly," Xin Yi patiently explained to Ma Huateng.
"What I'm saying is that I absolutely won't betray you, Li Ge. Not only would I not answer calls asking about you, even if they captured me and threatened me or beat me up—even if they tortured me—I would never betray you!" Ma Huateng reiterated his loyalty once again.

"Seriously? Brother Li, you don’t know why your sister-in-law is angry?" Ma Huateng said with a sympathetic expression as if he had been through it himself. "You just taught Guan Yong a lesson because he said something... not human-like. Your sister-in-law must think you acted to protect her, so don’t you think she should be happy?"
"She should... probably be happy," Xin Yi replied uncertainly.
"Well, when your sister-in-law asked you just now, you implied that teaching Guan Yong a lesson was completely part of your plan. Think about it, doesn't that prove that your sister-in-law is not as important to you as she thinks? Of course, she would be angry," Ma Huateng analyzed smugly.

At the hotel front desk, Lu Hanmeng directly asked the Waitress for another room. They had originally only booked one room to avoid drawing attention—Lu Hanmeng slept on the bed while Xin Yi slept on the floor. "No need to thank me; it's our job to consider our customers," the Waitress replied understandingly. "We can't let you two really separate just for an extra room charge. Couples have their quarrels but make up afterward; it's nothing serious."
"Yes, thank you again! If there's nothing else, I'll head back to my room now."
"Wait! Let me tell you something," the Waitress, seeing that Xin Yi was about to leave, quickly called out again. "What I said is definitely useful for you.
