In the darkness, two cars with glaring headlights were approaching Zhuge Kong's villa, one in front and the other behind. The two on-duty bodyguards quickly notified their boss via intercom. Since the cars had taken this road, their destination was undoubtedly the villa, as this road was exclusive to it.
Soon, a reply came through the intercom, stating that there were no visitors for the owner tonight. Given this, they should be on alert for such suspicious vehicles. The people inside the villa quickly sprang into action, each moving to their designated positions as fast as possible. The powerful searchlights on the roof and walls of the villa were turned on, illuminating the two cars that were now not far from the villa. Of course, all these actions were taken without the owner's knowledge; if even this level of alertness disturbed the esteemed owner, then the head of security would certainly be in trouble.
The head of security for Zhuge Kong's villa was named A-Hu. A veteran soldier, he joined the Black Dragon Society after leaving the military and gradually gained recognition within the gang due to his Kung Fu skills. Eventually, he caught Zhuge Kong's attention and became a personal bodyguard responsible for his safety. A-Hu was a tough character who had seen blood; he had joined the Black Dragon Society after getting involved in a fatal conflict over a trivial matter.
A-Hu quickly organized everyone inside the villa to enter a state of alertness while he commanded from the monitoring room. This level of vigilance might seem excessive to an outsider, but as a bodyguard for Zhuge Kong of the Black Dragon Society's Hidden Dragon Hall, A-Hu would not allow himself to relax for a moment. Although there had never been any significant attacks during his years with Zhuge Kong, he maintained a professional bodyguard's demeanor. He preferred to be overly cautious than to risk Zhuge Kong's safety.
From the searchlights on the rooftop and walls, A-Hu could see that one of the approaching vehicles was a black SUV, followed by a medium-sized Iveco Van. The two vehicles were moving towards the villa at a steady pace, giving off an air of calmness as if they were returning home.
Through the monitor, A-Hu saw that the vehicles had reached the villa's entrance. Naturally, someone from inside came out to greet them—not a bodyguard but an elderly gatekeeper. Before confirming whether the newcomers were friends or foes, A-Hu could not recklessly send in his team of bodyguards; if they turned out to be friends of the owner, it would be quite disrespectful. Thus, their alertness remained discreet; to outsiders, this villa appeared no different from any other.
The elderly gatekeeper seemed to be verifying the identity of those arriving. After both vehicles stopped briefly at the entrance, two men in black jumped down from the Iveco Van. They ignored the gatekeeper's inquiries and bypassed him through a side door into the villa, opening its main door before both vehicles slowly moved inside.
Seeing those two men in black enter and open the door via surveillance, A-Hu issued orders for several bodyguards waiting in the garden to approach. By the time these bodyguards reached the entrance, the front of the black SUV had already driven through the gate. It was too late to close it now; thus, they could only gesture in an attempt to signal for the vehicle to stop.
However, it seemed that the vehicle had no intention of stopping. Although it was moving slowly, it showed no hesitation as it headed straight toward them. The bodyguards stood their ground as if challenging it; when it approached closely without yielding, they knew this was their moment.
Regardless of who you were, barging into someone else's territory without stopping after being signaled was a serious provocation. This gave them ample reason to act openly against these intruders. These bodyguards typically had little to do; after finishing their meals, they often engaged in mock fights among themselves as part of their training. Therefore, when faced with an opportunity to confront intruders who dared challenge them, they welcomed it eagerly.
As soon as the black SUV neared them, they suddenly split apart—not to evade but to attack. They moved alongside both sides of the vehicle and attempted to pull open its doors, intending to drag out whoever was inside. Unfortunately for them, the doors were locked tight and could not be opened; moreover, dark tinted windows obscured their view of what was happening inside.
Since they couldn't open the doors, they felt justified in resorting to violence and immediately attempted to smash a window. Just then, several men dressed in black jumped out from behind in the Iveco Van without saying a word and launched an attack on those self-proclaimed top fighters among bodyguards. They didn't even have a chance to fight back before being swiftly taken down by these attackers—who were unarmed at that.
Damn! It seems we've encountered a tough character this time. In the monitoring room, A-Hu immediately notified all the bodyguards to gather at the entrance. After issuing the command, he picked up the internal line and made a call: "Hall Master, unidentified individuals have entered the villa. They appear hostile and have already injured several of our brothers. What do you think..."
After hanging up, A-Hu opened a nearby cabinet and took out two handguns, securing them at his waist before leaving the monitoring room and heading upstairs. He knocked on a room door. Two minutes later, the door opened, revealing a rosy-cheeked young woman supporting a gloomy middle-aged man as they stepped out. A-Hu quickly lowered his head and said, "Hall Master, are you really going down?"
The gloomy middle-aged man was Zhuge Kong, the Hall Master of the Black Dragon Society's Hidden Dragon Hall. He did not respond to A-Hu but spoke to the rosy-cheeked young woman beside him: "You should wash up first; you have a full set of tasks to continue later. I'll go down and take a look; I'll be back soon."
The young woman nodded and slipped back into the room. Zhuge Kong then turned to A-Hu and said, "How could they get in so easily? Didn't anyone notice their arrival?"
Zhuge Kong's tone was not harsh; in fact, it was quite gentle, devoid of any emotion. Yet, it was precisely this statement that made A-Hu, who stood with his head bowed beside him, tremble slightly as he stammered in response: "Hall Master, I was wrong!"
"Alright, let's go down and see which of my old friends has come to visit," Zhuge Kong said in that same emotionless tone before stepping down the stairs.
The hall downstairs was packed with people—some lying down and some standing. The ones lying on the ground were dressed in red, while those standing wore black. The red-clad individuals were the bodyguards of the villa; although they lay on the ground in pain, not a single one dared to make a sound. This was because the black-clad individuals surrounding them remained silent, creating an eerie atmosphere where everyone could hear their own heartbeat. Despite their pain, none of them dared to utter a word or even breathe heavily.
These bodyguards had just experienced one of the most terrifying events of their lives that night. When they gathered at the entrance, two vehicles stormed into the villa at that very moment. Over twenty Black-Clad Men emerged from an Iveco without uttering a word; they simply began attacking. Their strength was terrifying—one punch or kick could take down an opponent. Several bodyguards were knocked to the ground before they even realized what was happening.
Once everyone had been taken down, the black-clad men dragged several of their fallen comrades from the garden into the villa's hall and tossed them onto the ground before standing silently by.
At that moment, three individuals entered through the door: two men and one woman. The young man in the middle swaggered into the hall and plopped down onto a sofa without saying a word. After sitting for about two minutes and feeling bored, he pulled out his phone from his pocket. Moments later, everyone heard sounds from his phone indicating he was playing a Linking Game... The injured individuals on the ground instantly felt exasperated.
Zhuge Kong leisurely walked down the stairs. Upon seeing the situation in the hall, he did not show any signs of surprise. After reaching the bottom of the stairs, he sat steadily on a sofa opposite the young man without speaking, merely staring at him intently. A-Hu followed closely behind with a nervous expression, hands poised at his waist ready to draw his gun if necessary.
"Ah, you're here; just wait a moment while I finish this round," said the young man playing on his phone without looking up, casually addressing Zhuge Kong as if greeting an old friend. Zhuge Kong did not respond; however, anyone could see the raging anger burning in his eyes. He restrained himself from expressing it; after all, in such circumstances, anyone with sense would know that remaining silent was likely their best option.
However, Zhuge Kong has done quite well. In this situation, he was still able to walk down calmly and sit on the sofa, facing everything with composure. One must say that he is someone who has seen a lot. Of course, he is probably feeling quite anxious inside, but at least he did not show it on his face, right?
Finally, as a familiar tune played, the young man sitting on the sofa put his phone into his pocket and looked up at Zhuge Kong, saying, "Zhuge Master, I am Xin Yi."
