"Mr. Gu, I don't quite understand what you mean," Ji Zhenyan said calmly as he placed the business card on the counter.
"I admire your courage and determination; rejecting Century Entertainment is not something just anyone can do," Gu Yan Shen replied with a hint of appreciation in his tone. "I want to discuss a collaboration with you, one that can elevate Arcade to the next level."
Ji Zhenyan frowned slightly, his intuition telling him that the man before him was not simple. However, he did not show it and simply asked, "What kind of collaboration?"
Gu Yan Shen smiled slightly but did not directly answer his question. Instead, he said, "I know what you're worried about—Century Entertainment's retaliation methods. I'm somewhat aware of them as well. But rest assured, as long as you agree to collaborate with me, I can guarantee that Century Entertainment won't dare to touch you again."
Although Gu Yan Shen's tone was calm, it carried an undeniable confidence. Ji Zhenyan remained silent for a moment before looking up and meeting Gu Yan Shen's gaze. "What do you want?"
"I need you to help me at the Jingcheng Sword Discussion," Gu Yan Shen said, his tone calm yet carrying an air of authority that was hard to refuse.
Ji Zhenyan felt a chill run through him; he realized he seemed to be caught up in a larger game. Yet he maintained his composure on the surface. "Why should I help you?"
"Because I can help you achieve your dreams," Gu Yan Shen replied, his gaze shifting to the excited young people playing inside Arcade. "You want to build a gaming empire, and I can provide you with that stage."
A storm of emotions surged within Ji Zhenyan; this man had seen through his ambitions.
"Give me a reason to trust you," Ji Zhenyan said in a low voice.
Gu Yan Shen smiled slightly. "Just because I am Gu Yan Shen."
He turned and left, leaving Ji Zhenyan with a tall silhouette.
Ji Zhenyan watched Gu Yan Shen's departing figure, lost in thought. He knew that rejecting Century Entertainment meant establishing a powerful enemy for himself. And Gu Yan Shen was like a mysterious figure who had suddenly appeared; the collaboration he proposed was like a double-edged sword—full of temptation yet fraught with unknown risks.
"Boss, who is that Mr. Gu? He seems really impressive," Xiao Li asked curiously.
Ji Zhenyan came back to reality and smiled. "Just an ordinary businessman."
"Ordinary businessman? Boss, don't lie to me! Just look at his aura and attire; he's clearly not an ordinary person," Xiao Li said with disbelief.
Ji Zhenyan chose not to explain further and simply patted her shoulder. "Alright, it's getting late; you all should head home early."
"Okay, goodbye, boss."
The employees left one by one, and Ji Zhenyan sat alone in the empty Arcade, repeatedly recalling Gu Yan Shen's words.
"The Jingcheng Sword Discussion..." Ji Zhenyan murmured to himself. The name was familiar; it was the annual business event in Jing City that gathered elites from various industries—a stage every businessman dreamed of.
He had always longed to showcase his talents on a larger stage, but he also knew that with his current strength, he was still far from being able to participate in the Jingcheng Sword Discussion.
"Gu Yan Shen, who exactly are you? Why are you helping me?" Ji Zhenyan's mind was filled with questions.
At that moment, his phone rang; it was a call from Xiaoyao.
"Hello, Xiaoyao, what's up?"
"Old Ji, are you okay? I heard that Century Entertainment is causing you trouble?" Xiaoyao's voice was filled with concern.
Ji Zhenyan forced a smile, "It's nothing, just a small issue."
"Small issue? Old Ji, don't hide it from me. I know those people from Century Entertainment; they are not easy to deal with."
Ji Zhenyan fell silent for a moment. "Xiaoyao, I'm fine, really. Don't worry, I'll handle it."
"Old Ji, you... sigh, forget it. It's your own business; you take care of it. But remember, your brothers are always behind you. If you need help, just say the word."
"I know, thank you, Xiaoyao."
After hanging up the phone, a warm feeling surged in Ji Zhenyan's heart. He knew that no matter what happened, he was not fighting alone.
The next day, as soon as Ji Zhenyan arrived at the Arcade, he found the entrance surrounded by people and several police cars parked on the side of the road.
"What’s going on?" Ji Zhenyan was startled and quickly pushed through the crowd to get inside.
"Boss, you finally made it!" Xiaoli rushed over to Ji Zhenyan like she had seen a savior.
"What exactly happened?" Ji Zhenyan frowned as he looked at the chaotic scene before him.
"The police said our Arcade is suspected of illegal operations and they want to shut us down," Xiaoli was on the verge of tears.
"What? Illegal operations? How is that possible?" Ji Zhenyan immediately realized that Century Entertainment was behind this.
He suppressed his anger and approached the police calmly, asking, "Officer, could you please tell me where our Arcade is operating illegally?"
The officer glanced at him coldly and replied, "Someone reported that your Arcade is involved in gambling activities; we need to conduct an investigation."
"Gambling? That's pure slander! All our games at the Arcade are legitimate; there has never been any gambling activity!" Ji Zhenyan stated firmly.
"We'll determine if there's an issue after our investigation," the officer waved his hand impatiently. "Until the results come out, your Arcade must suspend operations."
Ji Zhenyan wanted to say more but was pulled back by Xiaoli. "Boss, just let it go; we can't fight against them."
Looking at Xiaoli's desperate eyes filled him with a sense of helplessness. He knew that no matter how much he explained, it would be futile. The power of Century Entertainment was far stronger than he had imagined.
At that moment, a black sedan stopped at the entrance of the Arcade, and Gu Yan Shen got out of the car.
