I protected Su Xiaoyu behind me, wielding the baton like a nimble serpent, blocking all incoming attacks. However, outnumbered by the enemy, I gradually felt overwhelmed.
"Damn it! This isn't going to work!" I gritted my teeth, feeling anxious inside.
"Ah!" Su Xiaoyu suddenly cried out. I turned to see her arm slashed by a man in black, blood staining her sleeve.
"Xiaoyu!" My eyes widened in fury as a surge of violent power erupted from deep within me, spreading throughout my body in an instant.
With a roar, my form expanded, my clothes tearing apart to reveal skin covered in black scales, and my hands transformed into sharp claws.
"What is this?!" The men in black were startled by my sudden transformation and began to retreat.
I had no time to care about their shock; my eyes burned with blazing rage as I charged into the crowd.
"Rip!" "Bang!" "Ah!"
Screams, the sound of bones cracking, and the clash of weapons intertwined, creating a symphony of death.
I was like a tiger among sheep; wherever I passed, the men in black fell one after another without exception.
"Monster! He's a monster!" Scarface shouted in terror, turning to flee.
"Trying to escape? Too late!" I flashed forward and appeared right in front of him, grabbing his neck and lifting him off the ground.
"What... what are you?" Scarface's face turned pale as he struggled helplessly in the air.
I looked at him coldly and said word by word, "I am here to take my father away!"
After saying that, I exerted force with my hands, and with a crack, Scarface's neck was twisted, his body going limp and falling down.
I casually threw him on the ground and glanced around; the ground was littered with the bodies of the black-clad men, and the air was thick with the smell of blood.
I took a deep breath, suppressing the raging power within me, and my body gradually returned to normal.
"Xiaoyu, how are you?" I walked over to Su Xiaoyu and asked with concern.
"I'm fine..." Su Xiaoyu said with a pale face, enduring the pain. "Just some superficial injuries, it's nothing serious."
"Don't talk for now; I'll take you back." I picked up Su Xiaoyu and turned to walk out of the alley.
I knew this battle was just the beginning; Yama Palace would definitely not let this go easily. What awaited me next would be even more dangerous challenges.
But I would not back down. For my father, for the truth, I would give it my all!
I supported Su Xiaoyu as we ran wildly. The sounds of shouting and killing behind us gradually faded away but lingered like a nightmare that wouldn't leave. Su Xiaoyu's face grew paler, and her breathing became more rapid.
" Lin Hen, I... I fear I can't hold on much longer..." Su Xiaoyu's voice was weak, like a mosquito buzzing.
"Don't talk, hold on! We'll be safe soon." I held her tighter and quickened my pace.
Ahead appeared a narrow alley, flanked by towering walls that seemed to stretch endlessly. I hesitated for a moment but decided to enter; it was the only hope of escaping our pursuers.
"What is this place..." I looked at everything before me in disbelief.
The once cramped alley had transformed into a desolate wasteland. Under the dim sky, a gray mist lingered, revealing a few dilapidated ancient buildings in the distance, silently narrating tales of past glory.
"This is the edge of the Underworld Ghost Domain - the Forgotten River Wasteland," Su Xiaoyu's voice was intermittent, laced with fear. "We... we are lost..."
A heavy feeling settled in my heart; I hadn't expected to stumble into this notoriously dangerous forbidden land.
"Kid, you really surprise me!" A familiar voice suddenly rang out from behind.
I turned around sharply to see White Impermanence holding a folding fan, accompanied by a group of men in black, slowly emerging from the mist with mocking smiles on their faces.
"You... how did you get here?" I asked warily, startled.
"What? Did you really think that with your little skills, you could escape from my grasp?" White Impermanence scoffed lightly. "I just wanted to see how much potential you still have left."
"What do you want?" I gritted my teeth and asked, shielding Su Xiaoyu behind me.
White Impermanence didn't answer; instead, he waved his folding fan, and an overwhelming spiritual pressure enveloped me. I felt breathless, as if a thousand-pound stone were pressing down on me, rendering me unable to move.
" Lin Hen!" Su Xiaoyu exclaimed, wanting to step forward but was blocked by the man in black.
"The power within you is far stronger than you can imagine. Join us at Yama Palace, and I can help you fully control it, making you the ruler of this world!" White Impermanence's voice was laced with a seductive power, echoing in my ears like a devil's whisper.
"I refuse!" I shouted with all my strength, filled with anger and defiance.
"You're asking for trouble! Since you're so stubborn, don't blame me for being ruthless!" White Impermanence's expression darkened, a glint of killing intent flashing in his eyes.
"Wait!" I suddenly spoke up. "I can join Yama Palace, but you must agree to one condition first!"
White Impermanence paused slightly, then smiled. "Oh? Let's hear it."
"Tell me where my father is!" I fixed my gaze on him, enunciating each word clearly.
The smile on White Impermanence's face gradually faded, his eyes becoming inscrutable. After a moment of silence, he slowly replied, "I can tell you the answer, but not now. When you truly join Yama Palace, you will naturally know everything."
"You..." My heart burned with rage, yet I felt helpless.
"Kid, this is your last chance; don't mislead yourself!" White Impermanence's tone was icy, his eyes glinting with cold light.
I took a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. Now was not the time to confront them head-on; I had to ensure both my and Xiaoyu's safety first before I could uncover the truth.
"Fine, I agree!" I lowered my head, my voice filled with reluctance and humiliation.
"A wise choice." White Impermanence nodded in satisfaction and put away the folding fan. "Someone, take them down to heal their wounds and treat them well!"
Two men in black stepped forward and escorted me and Su Xiaoyu down.
I hung my head weakly, filled with bitterness and helplessness. Am I really going to compromise with this evil organization?
No! I will never give up!

I kept my head down, allowing the men in black to escort me and Su Xiaoyu away.
" Lin Hen..." Su Xiaoyu looked at me with concern and questions in her eyes. She wanted to speak but I subtly stopped her.
I shook my head slightly, signaling her not to act rashly, a glimmer of determination flashing in my eyes.
The surrounding mist seemed to thicken, the cold and damp atmosphere continuously eroding my body, but I felt a surge of hot energy quietly awakening within me. I closed my eyes, greedily absorbing the spiritual energy that permeated the air. The bloodline of Gluttony seemed to sense my intent and began to operate wildly.
"Hmph, those who know how to adapt are wise; you have some brains after all," White Impermanence's voice came from nearby, laced with a hint of pride. "Don't worry, as long as you obediently listen, I at Yama Palace will never treat my own poorly. Wealth, power, status—everything you desire, I can give you..."
