"In broad daylight, holding a gun to bully someone, that's quite impressive," Zhang Yang said as he pushed Black Wolf aside and stepped forward. Black Wolf stomped his feet in frustration behind him.
"Which idiot forgot to zip up their pants and let you out?" The man in the leather jacket sneered when he saw the boyish figure of Zhang Yang.
"Sorry, my brother drank too much, my apologies," Black Wolf rushed forward, trying to pull Zhang Yang back.
"Who are you? I don't know you, get lost," Zhang Yang glared at Black Wolf and shoved him aside. Black Wolf was taken aback but quickly understood that Zhang Yang was protecting him and urging him to leave. He hesitated, feeling anxious: Brother, no matter how skilled you are, you can't mess with this guy.
At that moment, Blue Jacket suddenly turned his gun toward Zhang Yang. "Kid, you're pretty bold, teaming up to assault an officer."
The man in the leather jacket didn't say much and moved to slap Zhang Yang. Zhang Yang sidestepped and seized the leather jacket's arm, pulling him in front of himself while firmly gripping the back of his neck.
"Go ahead and shoot; before you pull the trigger, I can snap his cervical spine with one hand," Zhang Yang said coldly. The leather jacket realized Zhang Yang's skills and quickly shouted, "Don't shoot recklessly."
"Let go of the person on the heating pipe!" Zhang Yang tightened his grip. The leather jacket winced in pain. "Let go, let go."
Blue Jacket had no choice but to use one hand to pull out the keys and unlock Gray Suit's cuffs while keeping his other hand firmly on his gun.
Unexpectedly, Gray Suit did not retaliate. Instead, he walked over to the sink to wash his face, straightened his clothes, then pulled out a phone from his pocket and dialed a number. Once connected, he briefly said, "Haizhou, Wangchun Tower, there's trouble; it seems to be local police."
Hearing this, Blue Jacket suddenly felt something was off and immediately pulled out his phone to make a call: "Wangchun Tower, someone is assaulting an officer..."
After finishing the call, Blue Jacket took out his badge and said to Zhang Yang, "Let him go; we are police!"
Seeing this, Zhang Yang finally pushed the leather jacket away and walked over to Gray Suit. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, thanks!" Gray Suit surprisingly showed no intention of leaving. He pulled out a pack of plain white-wrapped cigarettes without a label, took one out, and offered it to Zhang Yang. "Where do you work, little brother?"
"Student." The filter of the cigarette was half the length of the smoke itself. Where had Zhang Yang seen this? He couldn't help but break the pretense of only smoking Soft Red Plum and Soft Zhonghua, taking it and lighting up. The smoke was rich and smooth; it was truly an exceptional cigarette.
The man in the leather jacket and Blue Jacket whispered to each other, seeming a bit hesitant, unsure of what to do next. The two sides waited in the Washroom, all four of them smoking together. Blue Jacket's worries grew, while the leather jacket whispered, "It's fine; it could just be a show-off's brand. Let's wait for someone to arrive."
At that moment, a wailing siren echoed from outside.
"Hands up!" A fully armed police team surrounded the Washroom. Just then, Gray Suit's phone rang. As Gray Suit reached for it, a loud shout rang out: "Don't move! Any further action will have consequences!"
At this point, a red Blade on Zhang Yang's forehead suddenly darkened slightly before quickly lightening again. In the end, he did not resist and was handcuffed along with Blue Suit, being escorted to the police car. Black Wolf and others stomped their feet in frustration nearby. Black Wolf then quietly explained something to Fatty Pan, Li Yifeng, Nickname, Great Victory, and others, all wearing shocked expressions.
The leather jacket and Blue Jacket seemed unaffected. Blue Jacket led Permed Woman and the short-haired girl out first. In their original private room, only the leather jacket and a middle-aged policeman with two stripes and three flowers remained.
"Liangdong, did they really hit you? Can you still handle these two kids?" The officer with two stripes and three flowers patted his shoulder. "Those two are asking for trouble!" Liangdong gritted his teeth as he spoke. The leather jacket was named Wu Liangdong, while Blue Jacket was named Li Kai. Afterward, Wu Liangdong perhaps felt a bit out of line and added, "Thanks to Wei Task Force."
"This matter indeed falls under our Criminal Investigation Team's jurisdiction. What do you plan to do?" Wei Task Force asked leisurely while lighting a cigarette.
"They assaulted an officer; the evidence is clear. They will definitely be charged with obstructing justice. During interrogation, we can't let them off easy. Once they get to detention center, we'll make them pay," Wu Liangdong said resentfully.
"Alright, then you should go rest for now," Wei Task Force nodded. "Say hi to your dad for me."
There was a knock on the door just as they were about to leave. Upon opening it, they found Boss Li Wangchun from Wangchun Tower standing there. "Wei Task Force, Wu Squad, sorry for startling you," Li Wangchun said as he casually closed the door behind him and slipped two envelopes into their pockets.
The envelopes were small but firm. "Boss Li is too polite. This matter has nothing to do with your hotel," Wu Liangdong said with a smile as he waved his hand dismissively.
"Take care." After seeing him to the door, Li Wangchun turned back towards the hotel, his smile instantly turning into a cold expression. "A bunch of shameless parasites," he cursed inwardly.
After Boss entered and went upstairs, a few waitstaff gathered at the entrance to discuss, both male and female.
"Who are those two? Boss acted like a lapdog around them," a young waitress asked, still with a hint of innocence on her face.
"Deputy Chief Wei Hai from the Criminal Police Team, and Deputy Captain Wu Liangdong from the Southern District Police Station," an older male waiter seemed to answer accurately.
"Even though they are both deputies, they are quite impressive."
"You don't know anything. Wu Liangdong is not even 30 years old. The Public Security Team has a lot of power; they handle everything related to crime, gambling, and drugs."
"Yeah, I heard that this Wu Squad has connections in both the underworld and law enforcement. He is indeed a big shot in Haizhou."
"Come on, you don't know anything. The reason Wu is so impressive is because of his father. Do you know who he is? He used to be the Public Security Bureau Chief and is now the Deputy Mayor in charge of public security."
"Wow, so he's like the young prince of the police in Haizhou!"
"Of course! No one dares to mess with him, and he's not married yet, so all the pretty girls are vying for his attention."
"So how come those two dared to confront him today?"
"Are you stupid? Wu Liangdong doesn't have a golden seal tattooed on his face."
"Those two kids are completely finished today."
"They're definitely going to suffer. Some already have."
"That long-haired one looks like a student, and he's quite handsome, sigh."
"The girl is getting all flustered..."
A few people were joking around, enjoying their conversation when Li Wangchun suddenly walked over, "Are you all just sitting around with nothing to do?!" The crowd fell silent and quickly dispersed.
At this moment, Zhang Yang and Gray Suit had been brought to an office in the criminal police team. Both were handcuffed to the heating pipe, which seemed to be a traditional method of restraint. There were only the two of them in the room, clearly left to cool their heels for a while.
"Sorry, little brother, I've gotten you into trouble," Gray Suit said with a slight smile at Zhang Yang.
"It’s nothing. Am I supposed to just watch you get beaten? Even though there are a bunch of police surrounding us with guns, if I wanted to leave, it wouldn't be hard. I just want to see how these people handle this case," Zhang Yang replied calmly.
"Attacking police officers, huh. We had no idea they were police before. Besides, do they even deserve to be called police?" Gray Suit scoffed, anger flickering in his eyes.
