"I can't afford to provoke someone like Shen Zhiyu, so how could I possibly bother with a student like you?" Wu Liangdong gently swirled his wine glass. 0

While Zhang Yang and Heimu Kai were at the cold seaside, Wu Liangdong and Black Ghost were enjoying red wine and cigars in a warm private room. He had refrained from taking action around the Spring Festival because it was too sensitive a time. Being threatened by having his neck squeezed was something Young Master Wu could never swallow. 0

Looking at Black Ghost's high cheekbones and deep-set eyes, Wu Liangdong inwardly cursed, "The nickname Black Ghost is truly fitting," but smiled as he said, "Big Gui, after dealing with this kid, you'll need to gather more manpower. The South District is not like your West District. Even though the boss was taken out, the remaining factions are all eyeing each other. It will depend on your capabilities." 0

"With Young Master Wu backing me up and my own strength, I can take full control in a month or so. However, I still feel a bit uneasy about dealing with that kid today," Black Ghost replied. 0

"Didn't you get a call? You knocked him out and put him in the van. What else is there to worry about?" 0

"Actually, our side's Black Wolf has also fallen to him. This kid is quite sinister; he's just a high school student, yet he's so formidable." 0

"Black Wolf? Is he the strongest fighter on your side? Why didn't you send him this time?" 0

"Black Wolf is responsible for the Red Velvet Club and KTV, Black Bear handles the barbecue stalls and restaurants, Black Whirlwind deals with drugs, and Heimu Kai takes care of dirty work and secret missions. We have our divisions and rules here, just like you do over there. For instance, traffic violations need the police to handle; we can't have your Public Security Team doing that," Black Ghost chuckled dryly. 0

"I doubt it's that simple," Wu Liangdong laughed along: "You guys in this line of work don't really care about rules or order. If there's profit, that's the rule; if there's a loss, it's nonsense." 0

"Hahaha. Since we'll be cooperating long-term, I won't hide it from you. Among these four, Black Wolf is the most skilled and intelligent, plus he has a reputation for being righteous on the streets. Many people under him respect him. Therefore, I can't let him get too close to core operations or anything that could be used against me. Who doesn't want to be the boss? If he gets too powerful and has leverage over me, how can I still hold my position?" Black Ghost laughed. 0

"Big Gui, you're really something else. I like it; let's drink to that!" Wu Liangdong grinned. 0

"Young Master Wu, don't drink too much today; I've prepared two lovely ladies for you since I know you enjoy that sort of thing—all ripe and ready," Black Ghost downed his drink in one go and chuckled. 0

Before their laughter faded, the phone rang. 0

"What? Alright, I'll send someone to pick you up right away." After hanging up, Black Ghost's expression changed rapidly as he told Wu Liangdong, "They've been compromised," and immediately arranged for someone to assist them. The three individuals were all sent to the hospital. 0

Everything was settled, and it was already two in the morning. The two people who were hit had concussions, but fortunately, there was no major bleeding in their skulls; however, they would need some time to recover. Heimu Kai had two broken ribs and a fractured ankle, but those were not life-threatening injuries; he just needed to rest. 0

After understanding the entire situation, Wu Liangdong and Black Ghost fell into deep thought. They had already been exposed; although they were just high school students, with this kind of behavior, how could they allow him to make a comeback? Both Wu Liangdong and Black Ghost felt a shiver of anxiety. 0

"Can we get the police to arrest him? Even if it's just for fighting, with their injuries, that should be enough for sentencing, right?" Black Ghost suggested. 0

"This incident happened in East District. We either need to contact the East District precinct or have the criminal police team intervene directly. However, if this kid starts talking inside and implicates us, that would not be good. Moreover, this case occurred directly by the seaside; their motives for committing the crime are too obvious, making it difficult to handle," Wu Liangdong pondered. 0

In fact, what worried Wu Liangdong the most was whether Zhang Yang would contact Shen Zhiyu. After all, last time Zhang Yang had helped Shen Zhiyu; it was possible that Shen Zhiyu would return the favor. If it came out that he was the mastermind behind this incident, it would indeed be troublesome. "Damn it, letting this kid lean on such a big tree," Wu Liangdong thought bitterly. 0

After contemplating for a while, Wu Liangdong told Black Ghost that it would be best to stabilize things for now; there would be plenty of opportunities later. They needed to take over South District first. 0

Black Ghost considered this and agreed that they needed to prioritize; after all, controlling South District was the most important thing. 0

In reality, Zhang Yang had no intention of contacting Shen Zhiyu. He knew that this was a big fish; before getting into college, he wanted to avoid any unnecessary connections with him. Key figures should be reserved for crucial moments. 0

What Zhang Yang wanted to contact was the captain of the criminal police team, Wang Siyuan. From their previous encounter, he had noticed that Wang Siyuan had a sense of justice and was a competent police officer. Before leaving last time, he had quietly noted down Wang Siyuan's office phone number. 0

The next morning, Zhang Yang dialed the number. He was lucky; Wang Siyuan happened to be in his office. "Captain Wang, it's Zhang Yang. Do you remember me? I was attacked and want to discuss it with you in person." 0

Wang Siyuan naturally remembered Zhang Yang. With Wu Liangdong being beaten up, the orders from above, and his father who was a sacrificed police officer—there were so many strong factors involved that he couldn't forget Zhang Yang. Upon hearing "assassination," he immediately invited Zhang Yang to his office. 0

After they met, Zhang Yang recounted what had happened. Of course, he glossed over some details and only mentioned that he knocked them out before fleeing. 0

"Why didn't you call the police at that time?" Wang Siyuan offered Zhang Yang a cigarette. 0

"I had my own means," Zhang Yang replied as he took out a Soft Red Plum cigarette and lit it himself. "It wasn't appropriate to call the police since I wasn't seriously injured. Plus, there are people within your department working on this; they would only be detained for a few days before being released. I'm worried about my safety moving forward. This is clearly a joint effort by Wu Liangdong and that thug Black Ghost trying to target me." 0

"Don't talk nonsense about the police and the gangsters teaming up!" Wang Siyuan said seriously, but he was secretly shocked. 0

"Then why did you come to me?" Wang Siyuan asked next. 0

"I think you're a trustworthy person. I want you to know my current situation, so if anything happens in the future, there will be someone from the police who knows the background. Also, I have a lead for you." 0

"What lead?" 0

"The boss of South District is dead. The boss of West District, Black Ghost, and Wu Liangdong have teamed up to invade South District. This will definitely lead to bloodshed, and casualties are inevitable. Your mission is going to get tougher; you should be aware of that." 0

Wang Siyuan's brows instinctively furrowed. He knew that the most powerful boss in South District had been killed at home, but he didn't know who had hired an assassin from another province. It was clean and efficient, making it extremely difficult to investigate, and there were currently no breakthroughs. Now he realized that what Zhang Yang said was likely true; the upcoming chaos would indeed bring them a lot of trouble. 0

"So what do you think we should do?" As soon as the words left his mouth, Wang Siyuan regretted asking such a question to a high school student when he was a captain. 0

"First, deal with Black Ghost and see if the next boss is more reasonable. This period will also serve as a buffer; several forces in South District will find a balance point at least for a short time." Zhang Yang quickly replied. 0

"Oh? How do we deal with him?" Wang Siyuan suddenly became interested and continued to ask. 0
