Zhang Yang stood in the middle of the corridor when a man appeared in front of him, while three other men had already stepped forward.
As the three men approached within three or four meters, Zhang Yang suddenly struck the nearest man's neck with a knife-hand strike. Then, he leaped into action, swirling like a whirlwind as he executed a series of kicks in mid-air, knocking each of the three men down.
"Got tricked..." the last man kicked could only utter these three words before collapsing to the ground.
At that moment, a business vehicle pulled up beside Zhang Yang, and Wang Siyuan ran over from a black sedan. Two people got out of the business vehicle and quickly lifted the four men lying on the ground into the car, with Zhang Yang and Wang Siyuan lending a hand. From the moment Zhang Yang launched his attack to the time the four men were loaded into the vehicle, it took only a few dozen seconds.
"What are you doing?" Wang Siyuan pulled Zhang Yang aside and whispered.
"These guys are lookouts; we need to move quickly," Zhang Yang replied. "I suspect they are old acquaintances, so their guard is low. By the way, they have guns, so be careful."
Wang Siyuan shot Zhang Yang a strange look, then patted his shoulder without saying much and immediately took out his walkie-talkie.
Before long, several more vehicles arrived at the entrance of the community, and over a dozen people rushed into Unit 3. From the first floor to the sixth floor, every level was guarded; some stood at the doors while others positioned themselves on half-levels of the stairs.
Black Ghost's partner, Xiao Ling, lived on the fourth floor, where Wang Siyuan was currently stationed. This floor was convenient for movement since going up was slower than going down; hence Wang Siyuan stayed on a slightly higher level.
Wang Siyuan was fortunate.
Sounds came from room 402 on the fourth floor, prompting Wang Siyuan to quickly issue orders for all personnel below the fourth floor to head outside Unit Door and wait. He then pretended to walk from the third floor to the fourth while making a phone call. Black Ghost glanced at Wang Siyuan before hurriedly heading down, while Wang Siyuan said into his connected phone, "Yes, I'm here."
As soon as Black Ghost stepped out of Unit Door, he was tackled by those lying in ambush outside before he even had time to draw his gun.
Originally, Wang Siyuan wanted Black Ghost to knock on the door before entering, but Black Ghost refused adamantly. He wasn't foolish; being captured now still left him with a glimmer of hope. However, if drugs were seized, no matter how great his contributions were, it would all be over. Fortunately, Wang Siyuan had invited a locksmith "expert" in advance; now that he knew it was room 402, things would be easier.
After Black Ghost left, there were only four people in Room 402: Black Whirlwind, Tiger Head, Alang, and Sister Yao. Additionally, there were five kilograms of ice and one million in cash.
The outer security door was opened by the "expert" with subtle sounds and quick movements. At this moment, a dozen fully armed SWAT members were waiting outside the door. Wang Siyuan naturally could not lose his position; he wore a helmet, a bulletproof vest, and held a familiar Type 64 pistol, facing the wooden door that had just been opened.
Inside the room, Sister Yao was playing with her phone while Black Whirlwind and Tiger Head were inspecting the ice. Alang, who was counting the cash, seemed to slightly move his ears; he quickly placed his hand on the grip of the gun tucked at his waist.
The final push!
They burst in.
Alang kicked over the coffee table and immediately drew his gun to fire. Wang Siyuan crouched down halfway as bullets whizzed past his helmet, creating sparks with a "sizzle" sound.
"Bang! Bang!" Wang Siyuan and a SWAT member behind him fired almost simultaneously, hitting Alang in the chest with two shots! In this critical moment, Wang Siyuan and his comrade could only aim for the largest target—the chest.
Next, Black Whirlwind and Tiger Head found cold gun barrels pressed against their heads. Sister Yao, unarmed, was directly subdued by a SWAT member.
Blood gushed from Alang's body as the sound of an ambulance siren echoed from outside the complex. "Get him out of here, send him to the ambulance first!" Wang Siyuan commanded.
"Wait, I know... I can't make it... can you fulfill one request for me..." Alang weakly spoke. Seeing that they had gained control over everyone and curious about what he had to say, Wang Siyuan blurted out, "Go ahead, the ambulance will be downstairs soon; make it quick."
"Can you let her kiss me?" Alang struggled to lift his finger and pointed at Sister Yao.
The police on scene were left speechless; what a hopeless romantic—when did it come to this?
Sister Yao's tears silently streamed down her face.
Alang was the most capable assistant of her father, Chuan the Boss. Sister Yao knew that Alang liked her, but she did not like him. Moreover, Alang was a rather introverted person; sometimes when Sister Yao joked about romantic relationships, Alang would deliberately change the subject.
Now, knowing that his time was short, Alang boldly made this request.
Wang Siyuan pondered for a moment before finally nodding. Sister Yao's arms were still held by the SWAT officers as she suddenly lunged onto the half-reclining Alang on the sofa, pressing her soft lips against his. The two SWAT officers holding Sister Yao couldn't help but turn their heads away.
"Alright! Quickly lift him up and start the rescue!" Wang Siyuan said after a few seconds.
"Cough... cough..." After Sister Yao was dragged away, Alang suddenly spat out two mouthfuls of blood. "Sister Yao, I really... like you..." Before he could finish speaking, Alang fainted.
"Alang, if you survive, I will marry you!" Sister Yao's body was also stained with Alang's blood as she was taken away by the SWAT officers. At that moment, paramedics carrying a stretcher entered the room.
A young Combat Officer suddenly felt a pang of sadness: "If they weren't involved in drug trafficking, how great would that be?"
"The law is merciless! Hurry up and clean up the scene; we still have to conduct an urgent interrogation back at the station!" Wang Siyuan waved his hand and immediately directed everyone to get to work.
Seizing 5 kilograms of ice meth and capturing key personnel from both sides of the transaction, along with related firearms cases, was undoubtedly a significant achievement for the Criminal Investigation Team of the Haizhou City Public Security Bureau. On the way back, Wang Siyuan promptly reported to Team Leader Cheng Lianhao. The main purpose of this report was naturally so that Cheng Lianhao could inform higher-level leaders.
Back in the office, Wang Siyuan didn't forget to call Zhang Yang: "A major achievement! Get ready to collect your reward!"
"Dear Captain Wang, if you don't hurry up with the case interrogation now, do you still have time to call me?" Zhang Yang replied.
"Wow, you're really something, arranging things for me. By the way, I have to ask, who did you learn your skills from? They're impressive," Wang Siyuan said casually, excitement evident in his tone.
"A relative, an absolute martial arts master. Alright, Captain Wang, get back to work. Just find me when it's time to distribute the rewards," Zhang Yang replied with a smile before hanging up.
Not long after, Zhang Yang received a triumphant call from Black Wolf.
"We heard that the police car left the neighborhood, so we immediately held a meeting," Black Wolf said.
"You guys held a meeting too? Wow, what's going on?" Zhang Yang joked, feeling in good spirits. "I had Black Bear find someone to propose it. The boss is down, and we should quickly elect a new leader. I didn't expect that aside from some of Heimu Kai's subordinates, everyone supports me. Even half of Heimu Kai's people are backing me," Black Wolf said excitedly.
"Black Bear may be a bit slow, but he's straightforward and loyal. Having him as your right-hand man is perfect. We need to keep Heimu Kai calm and prevent him from siding with other forces," Zhang Yang advised over the phone, sounding like the true leader himself.
"I've got everything arranged," Black Wolf surprisingly showed no resentment towards Zhang Yang's tone or plans. "However, I think the most dangerous person is the one who can't fight at all."
"Who?"
"The strategist of Black Ghost. He used to be our second-in-command, and this time he also supports me as the leader."
