Among Hetian Jade types, seed material is considered the best quality. The so-called Sheep Fat Jade refers to top-grade white jade seed material characterized by its whiteness, density, fineness, and oiliness. However, although Hetian Jade comes in various colors, Yellow Jade seed material is rarely seen in everyday life. The Yellow Jade available on the market mainly falls into two categories: one is yellow-stained seed material that originally started as white jade or greenish-white jade and became stained yellow during its formation process; this type usually has loose texture with many rough spots. The other type is true Yellow Jade; high-quality Yellow Jade often contains some cotton-like inclusions and sugar-like coloration but is also very hard to come by.
