Arriving here, I left Mr. Cui behind, and now all that remains is to deal with the issue of the Yin Soldiers passing through. 0

We were quite lucky; Mr. Cui did not have the ability to interfere with the Yin Soldiers. 0

In five thousand years of Chinese history, how many brave men have died on the battlefield? And how many souls still harbor resentment from those battlefields? As the saying goes, "A general's success is built on the bones of countless soldiers," yet how many of those restless souls are remembered by their generals? 0

The matter of the Yin Soldiers passing through would take place at night. I did not recommend that Wang Ni accompany me to seek out those ancient Old Ghosts in the dead of night. 0

Wang Ni and I set up a tent directly in the woods. That night, I quietly slipped out of the tent alone. 0

I took out the Ghost Compass from my pocket, and its needle pointed firmly toward the village entrance. 0

I stealthily walked out of the woods, feeling as if something was watching me from the shadows. 0

"Who is it?" I shouted. 0

"It's me." Wang Ni stepped out from the side and tossed me a wooden sword. 0

I focused my gaze; it was indeed the Thunderstruck Peach Blossom Wood Sword that I had thrown away. 0

"You left without taking your gear, thinking I would hold you back?" Wang Ni said coldly. 0

"Of course not. Just leave this dirty work to me; you should continue to rest, female hero," I said, trying to be courteous. 0

After all, Wang Ni is still my homeroom teacher. If I anger her, will I even survive university? However, seeing Wang Ni's reckless spirit made me think—what's there to fear when someone rides a motorcycle at a hundred miles per hour without hitting the brakes? 0

At Wang Ni's strong insistence, I brought her along and also activated her Spiritual Sight—when we return, I must teach her how to activate it herself. Every time I pressed it on her forehead, I felt like being targeted by a T-Rex... 0

It was midnight, close to dawn. Due to Mr. Cui's presence here nurturing evil, even the sounds of insects chirping and birds singing were scarce. The surroundings were eerily quiet; thanks to the moonlight, I could vaguely see the path ahead. 0

As we approached the village entrance, I instructed Wang Ni not to act on her own and to use her wooden sword to scout ahead. Sure enough, there was a blood line drawn at the village entrance; if I'm not mistaken, it was painted with Black Dog Blood. 0

The God of Dogs is the Howling Hound, which is a completely black dog. Since ancient times, there has been a belief that black dogs can communicate with spirits. Black Dog Blood is considered a sacred object for exorcism. Mr. Cui must have used Black Dog Blood here to obstruct the Yin Soldiers' path, preventing them from reaching Fengdu, thus trapping them in this village. The Yin Soldiers only march on nights of the full moon (they do not move during the dark nights), and once the full moon passes, they return to the forest where they perished in battle. This is likely why the Yin Soldiers frequently appear to borrow a path here. 0

"Damn it, this is trouble; those Yin Soldiers have no idea where they’ve wandered off to." I muttered as I walked back. Right now, I only knew that the Yin Soldiers should still be in this village, but I had no idea how many there were or their formation. If they were crossbowmen from the Qin Dynasty, I estimated I wouldn't survive their volley... 0

When I returned to the spot where I had asked Wang Ni to wait for me, she was surprisingly still standing there without moving. 0

"Haha! What are you doing? You really didn't move at all; I just told you not to act on your own..." 0

Soon enough, I found myself hesitant to move as well. 0

This village wasn't large; there was only a row of houses along the road, and behind them was a dense forest formed by closely packed trees. Now, there were green dots in the forest watching me and Wang Ni. 0

Wang Ni smirked slightly, as if to say, "If you’re capable, go ahead and move." 0

What the hell, these ghosts actually remember ambushes... 0

What should I do now? They are all ghosts; I wonder if they still have any policies regarding prisoners of war. 0

"Hey, ghost commander, could you send someone to negotiate?" I mustered my courage and spoke to the Yin Soldiers. 0

It seemed one of the Yin Soldiers understood me; a soldier who appeared to be an officer stepped out from the forest. As he approached me, I quickly placed a Clear Mind Talisman on him. 0

The Yin Soldiers hiding in the forest took up defensive stances upon seeing my movement. The officer raised his hand, and all the Yin Soldiers crouched back into the forest, watching me and Wang Ni with wolf-like eyes. 0

The Yin Soldier officer surveyed me with his green eyes while I took the opportunity to examine him as well. 0

Yin Soldiers are a difficult existence to define. Generally speaking, they do not carry Resentment; however, there are exceptions (those killed by Bai Qi certainly carry Resentment). But typically, soldiers are prepared to sacrifice themselves for their country, so dying in battle does not usually generate Resentment. On the contrary, most hope for early reincarnation to live peaceful lives. I could confirm that they likely did not carry Resentment—otherwise Mr. Cui would have been able to control them long ago. 0

"May I ask for your esteemed name?" The awakened officer surprisingly saluted me with a military gesture. 0

“Yin Zheng'an, Yin Zheng'an, do not call me sir.” This was my first time talking to an ancient soldier... 0

“Thank you, Mr. Yin, for granting me clarity.” The officer said very seriously. “I wonder what year it is now. Has the Han Dynasty been restored?” 0

The Han Dynasty? Restore? He must be from the Three Kingdoms period. 0

“Forget about that, it's all in the past. Even if the Han Dynasty were restored, what would you do? Ask the emperor for a title of a martyr?” I tried to lighten the mood. “Are you a soldier of Guan Yu or Zhang Yide?” 0

As soon as I said this, a murderous intent flashed in the officer's eyes: “Are you from the Shu Kingdom?” 0

So he wasn't under Liu Bei's command. How did they end up here? This is Sichuan, the territory of the Shu Kingdom. 0

“May I ask who your general is?” I asked cautiously, afraid of provoking his killing intent. 0

“Our general is Zhang He.” 0

Cao Cao's men! What are they doing in Sichuan? I need to remember everything he says; how much could it be worth to historians? 0

“How did you end up dying here?” 0

“We starved to death...” The officer said awkwardly. “The Prime Minister wanted to know the situation in Shu and sent several groups into Shu Road, but there’s only one way in and out of Shu Road. We had no choice but to take the mountain path, but unfortunately, we got lost and starved to death here...” 0

What a fierce way to die! I almost wanted to give them a thumbs up. 0

“What are your plans? You can't stay here forever, right?” Knowing too much about the past isn't necessarily a good thing. I'm feeling quite tired and just want to resolve this quickly so I can get a good night's sleep and return to JZ Normal University tomorrow. 0

“Please guide us, sir; we would be immensely grateful!” The officer clasped his fists and knelt on one knee. 0

“Alright, alright, you should go for reincarnation now.” I pointed them towards the simplest path. 0

They could actually stay here and continue to absorb the essence of the sun and moon, possibly even becoming a Demon God. However, I still suggested they return to Reincarnation. At least in their next life, they could live a peaceful life. 0

"We are willing to Reincarnate; please guide us on the right path, and we will repay you in our next life." 0

This statement was rather meaningless. So you expect me to find you after your Reincarnation? 0

"Forget it, forget it. There's no need for thanks; it's my duty. Just say a few good words for me in front of the Judge, and that will be enough gratitude." I waved my hand dismissively, adopting an official demeanor, and beside me, Wang Ni chuckled. 0

"Call your Brothers out," I said. 0

The officer raised his right hand and waved it downwards, causing all the Yin Soldiers hiding in the forest to step forward one by one. Truly, they were soldiers; they were different! 0

"Come on, let me guide you properly." Once the Yin Soldiers were lined up neatly, I walked toward them with a wooden sword. 0

There weren't many Yin Soldiers, probably fewer than a hundred. Each wore tattered military uniforms; some held weapons, while others had weapons that were so worn down that only the handles remained tightly gripped in their hands. 0

I burned a Rebirth Talisman and recited the Transcendental Sutra around them. It could be considered a form of guidance for them. 0

"Now, from here on out, you will have to walk your own path." 0

Wang Ni tugged at my sleeve. "I still feel uneasy. Can a lost army that starved to death really make it to Fengdu on their own?" 0

The officer responded with silence. 0
