I looked at the broken wooden sword, wanting to cry but unable to. Wasn't it just sparring? Did it really have to cause me financial loss?
Red Boy was standing aside, innocently blinking his eyes, looking harmless.
Lin Miaomiao heard the noise and turned to look (I guess I'm the only one without patience here…): "What are you doing, tearing the place apart?"
While saying this, Lin Miaomiao was eager to join the fight. Her skills were impressive enough to intimidate, at least her flashy moves were quite nice to watch, especially since she was already a beauty. I was fine with letting her have her way, but Red Boy was another story. Although it was clear from several battles that as long as he didn't take action, Red Boy was still a harmless child. But once he did engage, he would go all out and had no concept of holding back.
Before I could stop her, Lin Miaomiao had already lifted her leg to kick Red Boy. Lin Miaomiao had practiced Taekwondo and was a near expert with a red-black belt. Therefore, her kick was not only swift and decisive but also very standard.
However, just having the technique was far from enough; otherwise, why would one need to strengthen their palms before practicing hand techniques? Without the corresponding ability to withstand impact, one could only end up hurting themselves—Lin Miaomiao was a prime example.
Red Boy saw Lin Miaomiao's kick coming and did not retaliate; instead, he steadied his stick and dodged behind it. As a result, Lin Miaomiao's airborne kick not only failed to threaten Red Boy but instead struck the wooden stick. Although the foundation of Taekwondo is to be able to kick through boards, what Red Boy held was still a stick—one that I had carefully selected for its durability…
At that moment, I realized something was wrong as soon as Lin Miaomiao's leg made contact with the stick. Sure enough, after landing, she immediately sat down on the ground, hugging one leg with tears in her eyes but unwilling to make a sound.
I hurried over; as I started moving, my magical energy surged. By the time I reached Lin Miaomiao's side, I quickly rolled up her pant leg and placed my hand on her leg.
Lin Miaomiao's leg had already begun to bruise. It wasn't too serious; at least there shouldn't be any bone issues, but it definitely hurt.
The magic flowed through my hand into Lin Miaomiao's leg, helping increase blood circulation to promote healing.
"Ugh." Lin Miaomiao cried out in pain: "Be gentle!"
"Do you even know what pain is? Should I be gentle? Why didn't you think about kicking lighter?" What does self-inflicted pain mean? This is it!
"Sister Miaomiao, I'm sorry," Red Boy apologized faster than he attacked. He immediately squatted down to help wipe away Lin Miaomiao's tears with a guilty expression.
"What are you apologizing for? It's not your fault." I said: "It's just a flesh wound; if you had hurt your bones, you'd better go lie in the hospital yourself."
I deliberately scared Lin Miaomiao, but even if she really broke a bone, I would have a way to handle it.
After a while, the bruise on Lin Miaomiao's foot was mostly gone, but she still couldn't walk normally.
Even if I owed her a lot, I bitterly smiled as I carried Lin Miaomiao to a tree nearby to rest. You might ask why I didn't go home? One reason is that I needed to rest too. After fighting Red Boy and using my magic to heal Lin Miaomiao, I was still human and could get tired. Also, Wang Ni was still in her training; I couldn't just leave her behind, could I?
I instructed Red Boy to keep an eye on Lin Miaomiao while I went to a nearby shop to buy a few bottles of water.
I handed one bottle each to Lin Miaomiao and Red Boy, then twisted off the cap and drank it all in one go. It was already around eight in the morning. Last night, Wang Ni had drunk heavily and hadn’t slept much; once she entered training, it was almost like resting, so I wasn't worried about her. I was just a bit concerned about Lin Miaomiao's injury. Although I knew her bones should be fine, if there were any issues with the nerves in her leg, that would be trouble. What if this girl really ended up limping and blamed me for it?
“Hong, you keep an eye on Sister Wang Ni for a bit; I'll take Sister Miaomiao to the hospital,” I couldn't help but say to Red Boy.
“Okay,” Red Boy readily agreed.
“Come on, dear,” I crouched slightly, signaling for Lin Miaomiao to climb onto my shoulders.
Lin Miaomiao didn't hesitate; she wrapped her arms around my neck and obediently lay on my shoulder.
“Hold on tight,” I reminded her. Why did I remind her? Because I planned to use Wind Walk to get there directly.
With Wind Walk activated at my feet, it felt as if the wind was lifting both me and Lin Miaomiao, making the scenery seem to retreat automatically. When crossing the road, I leaped up and jumped over it, causing Lin Miaomiao to scream. Hey, isn't this more thrilling than a roller coaster?
There didn't seem to be a hospital nearby, so I could only take Lin Miaomiao to the school infirmary. As we approached the infirmary, I slowed down. I couldn't let anyone see how fast I could run; what if they dragged me into the Olympics?
Carrying Lin Miaomiao through JZ Normal University, I didn’t know how much hatred or disdain I attracted. In any case, I saw someone lighting a torch... (How many people can understand this reference? Just a reminder: FFF group.)
I carried Lin Miaomiao into the infirmary. The infirmary at JZ Normal University wasn't too bad, but it seemed like there were already people inside early in the morning.
In addition to the doctor, a large group of people crowded into the infirmary. They were all wearing camouflage uniforms, and one person in a uniform was nervously watching someone lying on the bed. I focused my gaze and realized it was the instructor, Lin Zhao, who had competed with me during military training. The ones in camouflage were none other than my lovely classmates. And on the bed lay that peculiar guy—Zhang Lei.
"Get up, Zhang Lei," you might have forgotten, but do you still remember that girl in traditional attire who spoke classical Chinese and wanted to pursue Wang Ni? (Just bear with it; those four characters will probably be blocked. I know the third character is wrong; I tried my best.)
I placed Lin Miaomiao on another bed and walked over to ask, "What happened?"
Instructor Lin Zhao first glanced at me, then at Lin Miaomiao, a subtle hint of ambiguity appearing at the corner of his mouth. He quickly returned to his anxious demeanor: "It should be acute appendicitis."
Acute appendicitis is not a serious illness; it's not difficult to treat. At worst, they just need to remove the appendix. However, delaying treatment can be quite serious—poor Weirdo Brother.
I cast a gleeful glance at Weirdo Brother, but in an instant, my expression changed. This was not appendicitis; it absolutely wasn't. However, the cold sweat on Zhang Lei's forehead proved how much pain he was in at that moment, and his stomach had started to swell. It looked similar to acute appendicitis, but appendicitis would never change a person's pupil color.
I noticed Weirdo Brother's eyes were gradually turning grayish-white, and I began to feel alarmed. Suddenly, Weirdo Brother sprang up from the bed—yes, he literally sprang up! Since I was prepared, I quickly pressed him back down onto the bed.
"Quick, get out!" I shouted. "Instructor, take them outside! And that girl—she hurt her foot!"
The instructor was likely experiencing this for the first time as well, but he was indeed an excellent soldier; he immediately dispersed the crowd outside. At this point, only I, the instructor, the doctor, and Weirdo Brother remained in the infirmary.
"You all should leave too; close the door behind you," I continued to yell. "Hurry! This is not something you can handle!"
I stepped on Weirdo Brother's body as he kept trying to get up with increasing strength.
"This..." The instructor and doctor hesitated.
"Hurry!" I could barely hold him down any longer. "If you don't want to cause trouble, just get out!"
I practically roared this last sentence. Finally, the instructor relented and pulled the doctor out of the infirmary. Once outside, they pressed their faces against the glass of the infirmary door to watch me and Weirdo Brother.
Weirdo Brother had veins popping out on his face, which made things even more alarming. How could appendicitis affect someone's face?
Weirdo Brother suddenly exerted strength, trying to throw me off. Seeing that I could no longer hold him down, I simply used his force to push him to the other side of the bed.
Taking advantage of the fact that Weirdo Brother had not yet stood up, I quickly grabbed a handful of talismans from the Seed Bag and took out the Peach Wood Sword.
Weirdo Brother looked even more like he was possessed by something sinister, but it was far worse than what Sister experienced when she was drained of yang energy by the Bat Demon. Weirdo Brother had lost his senses, wildly waving his arms in the air, his mouth opening and closing as he charged toward me.
I kicked him away and used Wind Walk to circle behind him, thrusting the Peach Wood Sword toward his shoulder. Sure enough, a cloud of black mist erupted from where the Peach Wood Sword struck. Since the Peach Wood Sword was effective against him, it was clear that Evil Energy was at play.
I pulled out an Exorcism talisman, attempting to stick it to Weirdo Brother's forehead. However, Weirdo Brother was incredibly fierce, charging at me fearlessly again and again, forcing me to continuously block him. Thus, we found ourselves in a stalemate.
The school's infirmary wasn't much; aside from our area with three beds, there was also a place for hanging IV bags. There were long benches and a television. I quickly moved toward the IV bag area since it was relatively spacious.
Weirdo Brother charged at me without any strategy, just lunging straight at me.
It seemed difficult to win without controlling him. I rummaged through the Seed Bag, found a rope, took out a dagger, and stabbed it into the floor. I tied one end of the rope to the dagger's handle. Holding onto the other end of the rope, I activated Wind Walk, starting to circle around Weirdo Brother, trying to bind him with the rope.
I don't know how many times I circled him; anyway, I managed to tie up Weirdo Brother like a Zongzi. Finally, I stopped and kicked him down, preparing to stick on the talisman.
Just as I was about to succeed, a beam of Black Light cut through the rope. Oh no! Was there another mastermind behind this? I quickly stepped back and looked at Weirdo Brother. However, no one else appeared; instead, Weirdo Brother stood up and relentlessly charged at me again...
