Unlike Maoshan and Longhu Mountain, no one has ever dared to call themselves a member of the Laoshan sect. This is because Laoshan has never been a sect's territory; rather, it is a secluded place for cultivation, similar to Kunlun Mountain or Penglai Island.
The young handsome man in front of me, named Li Su, is likely one of those who have been diligently cultivating at Laoshan. However, he mentioned that his master also intends to introduce him to Uncle Xing, which seems to be a common pitfall among masters.
"So you are now an Executor?"
"Yes, I am currently responsible for the Blood Cultivation incident. I've been tracking it for quite some time, but I didn't expect it to be disrupted by this group of soldiers conducting military exercises." Li Su put away the Oiled Paper Umbrella in his hand and took out a flag: "This is the source of Blood Cultivation, that Ancient Corpse."
It seems that the Execution Office is not idle; someone is already dealing with the Blood Cultivation issue.
"Is it an Evil Cultivator who practiced Blood Cultivation? Or is it just an Ancient Corpse that has been affected by Blood Cultivation?"
"It should not be an Evil Cultivator appearing." Li Su pondered for a moment: "However, I have already discovered several Ancient Corpses refined by Blood Cultivation. They must have been left behind by previous Evil Cultivators. If not dealt with in time, it will inevitably lead to disaster."
The absence of an Evil Cultivator directly affects the severity of the situation. If it's just the appearance of Ancient Corpses, it wouldn't be considered a major issue—of course, this is assuming no one has touched the Ancient Corpses.
"Do you need help?" I asked.
"Not for now," Li Su replied. "But you should quickly distance yourself and avoid involving your Heavenly Bureau of Human Affairs. If I'm the only one responsible for this matter, then outside events can be explained as accidents. If you get involved, things will become troublesome."
I thought carefully about it; Li Su made sense. I directly take orders from Uncle Xing, so my presence outside already represents their stance. If I get involved here, it would imply that the Heavenly Bureau of Human Affairs is ineffective. However, Li Su should be the direct person responsible for this matter; he does not represent an official stance, and outsiders are also intruding. Therefore, even if accountability is pursued, Li Su would not bear the burden.
"Then I'll take my leave. By the way, there are still two people in the intensive care unit; you should check on them." I wasn't referring to my two Brothers; they were already fine and would be taken away by Lin Zhao. However, there are still two soldiers inside, so I specifically mentioned it to Li Su.
"Okay," Li Su agreed. "Hurry up and leave; someone is coming outside."
"Until we meet again!" I ran out of the operating room and jumped out of the window. The height wasn't too great, and since I jumped from the back side of the building, no one noticed me.
Li Su should have had some contact with the military, or he might have already accepted a commission from them. After all, the military can cooperate with our Execution Office, so hiring a few Executors is not a big deal. At this point, it's better for me not to get involved, since I have no ties to the military. If I get dragged into this along with the Heavenly Bureau of Human Affairs, it would put me in a passive position.
After jumping down from the building, I pretended to be nonchalant and slowly walked toward the hospital room where I had been resting, while already dialing Uncle Xing's number.
"Hello." Uncle Xing answered the phone sounding weak and listless, as if he had a rough day yesterday.
"Uncle Xing, the mission at Lin Zhao's place has been completed." I needed to report the situation at Lin Zhao's to Uncle Xing, even though he might already know.
"I got it. If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."
"Hey, wait! I still have something to report."
I recounted the situation regarding Blood Cultivation and Li Su. Surprisingly, Uncle Xing didn't react much; it seemed like he considered this a non-issue.
"Come back quickly. Don't get involved in this matter; leave Lin Zhao behind. He is more suited for this than you. I'll give instructions regarding Lin Zhao. You just need to bring Zhang Lei back with you. Oh, and by the way, bring back some Roujiamo."
"Roujiamo? Do you think I'm in Xi'an? Why would I bring back Roujiamo?"
"You are in Xi'an." Uncle Xing finished and hung up, which was very much in line with his style.
What? Am I really in Xi'an? I had no idea where I was all along; Lin Zhao had been unwilling to tell me.
When I went upstairs, Zhang Fan was still asleep, while Xia Liyi sat quietly reading a book.
"Back already? What happened downstairs? I heard they’re not letting anyone into the operating room because of an emergency; there are many people causing a scene."
"Oh, it's nothing, just a little malfunction." I glanced at the Pixiu lying on the ground and tapped it with my toe. "It's time to eat!"
With a whoosh, Pixiu sprang up from the ground, looking around curiously. Fortunately, it couldn't speak; otherwise, it would have surely startled Xia Liyi.
I picked up Pixiu and said to Xia Liyi, "Shall we go eat together?"
"Sure," Xia Liyi replied, tucking her book under her arm as she stood up. "Are we going to the cafeteria?"
"Forget it," I thought for a moment and decided against it. Since Xia Liyi had specifically come to the hospital, I felt embarrassed to treat her to the cafeteria.
However, there didn't seem to be any good restaurants nearby the hospital, so Xia Liyi and I casually found a relatively clean place to have lunch, and I also got a meal for Zhang Fan. As for Pixiu, I bought it a whole ten trays of steamed buns and let it digest at its own pace. In the past, Pixiu would have ignored steamed buns completely, but after being suppressed for so many years, it had become less picky about food.
By late afternoon, Lin Zhao returned with some people and also brought back the Archaeologist team. I don't know what method Lin Zhao used, but it seemed that the Archaeologist team had completely forgotten about the incident with the Ritual Platform. In their memories, they were lost in the jungle and were led out by Lin Zhao and his team.
Moreover, shortly after Lin Zhao arrived, Zhang Fan also woke up. He claimed he didn't remember going berserk. Well, I guess relying on him was just wishful thinking on my part.
After a hurried farewell with Xia Liyi, I quickly boarded the helicopter arranged by Lin Zhao along with Zhang Fan. Lin Zhao still needed to assist Li Su in investigating matters related to Blood Cultivation. As for those captured Strongman, it seemed that except for Earthwalker, they were all preparing to return to J Province. I didn't quite understand why Earthwalker was left behind alone, but since Lin Zhao didn't explain, I figured it was probably confidential information and didn't ask.
However, after landing, I realized something important: I seemed to have forgotten to buy Roujiamo. How could I forget something so crucial? Would you, Uncle Xing, still be willing to lend me your shoes in the future?
Well, there's nothing I can do now; I'll just gamble on the fact that Uncle Xing has never been to Xi'an and hasn't tried Roujiamo. I'll buy a few Sesame Cake instead as a substitute.
But on this big road, it seems that finding Sesame Cake isn't easy either. Seriously, in this society with so many Wu Dalangs around, is there really not one selling Sesame Cake? This is your old Wang family—no wait, the old Wu family's traditional business!
Forget it; since finding Sesame Cake isn't something that can be done quickly, I've made my decision! Pikachu!
I hurriedly pulled Zhang Fan back to JZ Normal University. Actually, Xi'an isn't too far from J Province, especially since we took a helicopter back. It was still just early evening when we left, and we arrived before nine o'clock at night. Of course, if I had flown directly using my sword technique at full speed, we could have made it in just an hour and a half. However, I'd need at least one Saturday to recover from the cooldown time; it wasn't worth it.
However, why did Uncle Xing urgently call me back? Could it be that Red Boy is getting married to Qu? That seems a bit too soon, right? I just left on Saturday!
But then again, young boys and girls shouldn't be restricted, but would the Bodhisattva agree? It seems that as long as the rice is cooked, there shouldn't be much of a problem. After all, the Bodhisattva is compassionate; could they really force someone to have an abortion?
But Red Boy, after all, calls me brother. If he is getting married, how much should I give as a red envelope to make it appropriate?
When my mind had already wandered to what kind of identity card Red Boy's son would need and which kindergarten he should attend, Zhang Fan reminded me.
"Boss, we're here!"
"Oh." I casually responded and suddenly realized, "Hey, you finally paused your speech?"
"What's wrong? Is that bad?"
"Good! Of course it's good!" I was almost in tears from joy. Zhang Fan actually spoke normally; this was even more exciting than Red Boy's wedding! It seems this kid has turned misfortune into fortune; an unexpected frenzy has actually taught him how to speak like a normal person!
Oh heavens! Oh earth! Which deity made this possible?
I pulled Zhang Fan into JZ Normal University and headed straight for Uncle Xing's office. Uncle Xing had already arrived and was waiting for me in the office, apparently with something very important to discuss.
"Reporting!" I shouted loudly in front of Uncle Xing's office door.
"Come in." Uncle Xing replied weakly.
"Uncle Xing, what's wrong with you?" I pushed open the office door and found Uncle Xing slumped in his chair, looking pale.
"It's nothing. Where's the Roujiamo I asked you to bring?" Uncle Xing's eyes lit up!
"Oh, just wait a moment." I rummaged through the Seed Bag. "Uncle Xing, what's wrong with you? You look like you've overindulged."
"Damn it!" Uncle Xing's expression turned angry at the mention of this. "Old Qu (our principal Wenquxing, has nothing to do with music) told me not to leave this office and even had two students bring me food."
"What's wrong with that?" I finally found what I was looking for and handed it to Uncle Xing.
"Yesterday was Saturday, today is Saturday! Those two students aren't in class, and I can't just leave. I've been starving here for over an hour."
"You deserve it. Remember our first meeting? Now you finally get to experience my pain!"
"I can't believe this!" Uncle Xing took a bite of what I gave him. "This isn't Roujiamo!"
"You're too late; all the Roujiamo is sold out." I shrugged my shoulders helplessly.
"Then what is this?"
"Dough Bun!"
