Shaoming's emotions began to stabilize gradually, and she started chatting with me about trivial matters with a smile. I knew that Shaoming wasn't someone who forgot quickly; she just hid her feelings deeply. She had become accustomed to keeping these things buried in her heart, pretending to be a cheerful Sister on the surface, but that didn't mean she was heartless; she simply didn't want to cry. 0

Time flew by as we chatted, and before we knew it, Shaoming and I had already consumed three drinks and two plates of Red Bean Cake. I thought that Meng Jiangnu should be about done as well. 0

Suddenly, an inexplicable look of excitement appeared on Shaoming's face. She abruptly lifted her head and looked at me in disbelief. Then, without warning, Shaoming stood up, grabbed my collar, and pulled me as she ran towards the upper floors. 0

"Slow down! I can't breathe!" I gasped, struggling for air as she tightened her grip around my throat. However, Shaoming seemed oblivious to my distress and continued to sprint upwards as if being chased by creditors. 0

Her pace was fast, and before long, we returned to the eighth floor we had just left. Soon after, due to my difficulty in breathing, I began to feel dizzy and was on the verge of passing out. 0

Shaoming dragged me along the path when we encountered the moss that had previously mocked her. Shaoming didn't pay attention and collided with the moss head-on. This impact finally allowed me to savor the wonderful taste of oxygen again; if I couldn't breathe soon, I would really have to report to Old Black. 0

"It's you again," the moss shouted angrily at Shaoming, pointing at her. "You fox spirit, you seductress!" (likely a derogatory term from the Fox Demon Clan). 0

As Shaoming stopped, I lost my footing and fell to the ground, still feeling dazed. 0

Ignoring the moss entirely, Shaoming picked me up in a princess carry and hurriedly said "Sorry" before rushing back up the stairs. 0

Behind us, the moss was stunned; by the time it looked again, Shaoming had already ascended to the ninth floor. 0

"She made it up again," the moss muttered. 0

I found today incredibly surreal; I was being carried by a Sister in a princess carry while she was sprinting. Now we were heading upstairs again. 0

"What are you doing?" My head was spinning from being jostled. "Why are we running so fast? Are we trying to reincarnate?" 0

If you're in such a hurry to reincarnate, I could help you cut in line; really, I still have that privilege. So please, Sister, slow down a bit. 0

"Grandma," Shaoming said breathlessly as she ran frantically. "Grandma actually sent me a message." 0

So that's why Shaoming had been stunned earlier. 0

"Grandma wants me to take you to the Fox Spirit Shrine," Shaoming said excitedly. 0

The Fox Spirit Shrine? What is that? Did you build a shrine in this tree? That's crazy. 0

"Alright, alright, put me down. You're going too slow," I said. I'm all about speed, so Shaoming's pace was really not enough for me. 0

Shaoming wasn't slow either; at least she was faster than that Jamaican named Bolt. But compared to me, with just one Wind Walk and adding Shaoming's weight, I could still go twice as fast. 0

Finally, Shaoming put me down. I leaned against the wall, gasping for breath, then took a deep breath and said, "You lead the way; I'll handle the running." 0

Before Shaoming could respond, I picked her up in the same way and activated Wind Walk. With a shift of my feet, it felt like I was gliding on ice as we covered over ten meters in an instant. 0

"Just keep going straight and don't hit the walls," Shaoming finally reacted and urged. 0

"Got it! Hold on tight!" I called out loudly. 0

With a movement of my feet, I dashed down the wide road like a streak of light. I could even feel the heat from the friction with the air, but it didn't affect either me or Shaoming. 0

If I had to climb stairs at this speed step by step, there was a hundred percent chance I'd end up tumbling down with Shaoming. So instead, I jumped forward and leaped halfway up the stairs. 0

Upon reaching the Tenth Floor, it felt distinctly different from below. There was no sign of Shao Ming Shop here; the roads were empty (of people and demons), and the space felt much larger. Strangely, there were many dolls along the street, each wrapped in red thread. 0

I didn't stay long on the Tenth Floor before heading straight up to the Eleventh Floor. 0

On the Eleventh Floor, what’s this? There was an extremely obscure feeling here. How should I describe it? Right! There was no sense of liveliness! In any place where people live, no matter how dirty or messy it is, there’s always some vitality. But here on the Eleventh Floor, there was none. Entering this floor felt like stepping into a room; although it was very clean, there was an odd sense of emptiness. 0

After reaching the Eleventh Floor, Shaoming's expression changed. She grabbed my arm just as I was about to take another step and specifically reminded me to tidy my clothes and act more formally. 0

"The Fox Spirit Shrine is our Fox Spirit's forbidden area. You can't enter without permission from the Fox Fairy Grandmother," Shaoming explained seriously. 0

"Can the forbidden place let me in?" I asked in confusion. 0

"My grandmother personally told me to bring you in," Shaoming replied. "I don't know why, but she sounded quite excited, though I'm not sure why." 0

"By the way, is that sister who came with me earlier here too?" I was referring to Meng Jiangnu, and Shaoming didn't realize that the sister was the Meng Po from the Bridge of Helplessness. 0

"She should be on the Tenth Floor. Sister Wan wants her to meditate under the Red Bean Acacia for a while." 0

"Meditate?" 0

"The Red Bean Acacia is a divine tree. There are several rooms on the Tenth Floor where one can converse with the Acacia tree. I think Sister Wan is hoping that it will help evoke that sister's memories and longing." 0

"Is it effective?" This wasn't just any illness; if amnesia were like the flu, then Meng Jiangnu would be... 0

"I don't know, but the Red Bean Acacia is an Ancient Divine Tree, so it should have significant effects." 0

"I hope so." 0

As we spoke, Shaoming led me to a place resembling a temple, with intricately carved beams and painted rafters. On the roof sat eaves beasts, exuding an ancient charm. However, unlike typical temples that have two stone lions at the entrance, this one had two extraordinary-looking foxes. 0

The foxes had nine tails and sharp eyes, appearing lifelike. One of them opened its mouth in a fierce roar, revealing sharp teeth and an imposing presence. 0

"This is the Nine-Tailed Fox," Shaoming introduced. 0

"The Fox Fairy Grandmother is inside?" 0

"The Fox Fairy Grandmother cannot leave the Fox Spirit Shrine in her lifetime; she can only go out when it's time to pass on her position as clan leader." 0

"Then how does your grandmother handle her daily needs?" 0

"There are fox spirits that will bring the food up." 0

Well, I thought the old lady would have to cook for herself. 0

As I pushed open the door of the Fox Spirit Shrine, an old lady was standing inside waiting, leaning on a cane. Her face was covered in wrinkles, and her eyes were nearly hidden by them. She wore a bright red robe that resembled a wedding dress. 0

"Grandma," Shaoming said respectfully, "Yin Zheng'an has arrived." 0

Arrived? It felt like bringing a prisoner here. 0

The old lady glanced at Shaoming and slammed her cane down hard on the ground. "What kind of talk is that? Apologize to Mr. Yin." 0

Mr. Yin? It's the first time someone has called me that. But why did the Fox Fairy Grandmother speak about me with such respect, even with a hint of flattery? 0

Shaoming was taken aback and turned around, actually preparing to kneel before me. I was momentarily stunned as Shaoming had already knelt on the ground. 0

"What are you doing? Get up quickly." I hurriedly reached out to help Shaoming up. "It's not such a serious matter, Grandma, it’s not necessary." 0

"Hmph, if Mr. Yin tells you to get up, why aren't you getting up quickly?" The old lady coldly huffed at Shaoming. 0

I couldn't pull Shaoming up until the old lady agreed for him to rise, and only then did he slowly stand up. 0

"Mr. Yin, please come in; I have something to ask of you," the Fox Fairy Grandmother invited. 0

"Grandma, there's no need to be so polite; you can just call me Zheng An." It felt awkward for an elder to address me as 'Mr.' 0

"That won't do." The old lady insisted, waving her hands repeatedly. "Etiquette cannot be neglected; etiquette cannot be neglected." 0

Etiquette? This Fox Fairy Grandmother is quite polite. But what right do I have for her to treat me this way? Could it be because of Uncle Xing? That makes sense; after all, I am Uncle Xing's subordinate, and he is the war god of the Ancient Court. It’s only natural for her to show him some respect. 0

I really thought that once I understood the reason behind it, things would be much easier. 0

The old lady led me and Shaoming into the inner hall of the Fox Spirit Shrine. The inner hall was not large, about the size of two classrooms, separated by a screen. On one side, I could faintly see a rattan bed, presumably for the old lady to rest on, while the other side housed several statues. 0

The statues were arranged on either side, with a dignified woman standing in the center, her brows carrying an endless charm. 0

Behind the woman was a massive throne, upon which coiled a Divine Dragon, exhaling a Ming Pearl. 0

Sitting on the throne was a burly man, his upper body bare, muscles bulging like rocks, with a tiger skin wrapped around his waist. The tiger skin had been directly stripped from a whole tiger, complete with head and tail; the tiger's head rested at the man's waist, its eyes wide open and fierce. The entire skin was secured around the burly man's waist with its tail. 0

Looking at the man's face, it was extremely resolute, glaring fiercely, with a beard that was thick and black as iron needles. However, there was something awkward about the man's face in relation to his body; it wasn't an issue of shape but rather that his statue seemed to have weathered many storms while his face looked freshly carved. 0

“Shaoming, come here and kneel before the goddess,” the old lady instructed. 0

There was no Meditation Cushion on the ground, so Shaoming knelt directly on the floor facing the statue of the woman. 0

“Mr. Yin, my grandson is unworthy; I hope you will forgive him in the future,” the old lady unexpectedly bowed slightly to me. 0

I panicked and was about to reach out to help her up when her next words startled me. 0

“Mr. Yin, please take Shaoming as your disciple.” 0

What??? What is going on??? 0
