"Do you mean blood exchange?" Pixiu's guess was not unfounded; indeed, there is such a thing as blood exchange among the demon race.
Low-level demons are restricted by their bloodlines, so when they cannot reach their peak, some will seek alternative methods. One such method is blood exchange! By swapping blood with a demon whose strength is inferior but whose bloodline is superior, they can alter their own bloodline and elevate its rank.
However, blood exchange is not without risks. There are too many different types of demons, making it difficult for their blood to match. (After all, even humans have different blood types like A and B.)
If a powerful demon were to attempt this, they could suppress any conflicts between the bloodlines with their strength. But if the strength does not match the bloodline being exchanged, the new blood could rupture their meridians.
The Blood Demon is different; they rely on blood for cultivation as a special race, allowing them to overlook mismatches between their own blood and the exchanged blood. However, even so, Blood Demons cannot ignore the vast differences between bloodlines. Otherwise, the Vampire Woman would have chosen Shaoming instead of my companion Pixiu.
After all, even if the Tu Shan Clan were to be reborn, they would still not be able to compete with Pixiu in terms of bloodline.
Of course, only a demon at least of the Great Sage level from the Demon Clan could suppress Pixiu's bloodline. For them, their own bloodline would be more suitable, and they would not seek to steal Pixiu's.
"It should be close," Pixiu murmured. "If it really is a blood exchange, then we might still have a chance to save this Fox Spirit Girl. I'm just afraid..."
"Afraid of what?"
"I'm afraid this might be an Evil Technique—Blood Devouring," Pixiu said.
"Blood Devouring? What is that?"
"Do you know about Chiyou from ancient times?" Pixiu replied with a question.
"I do. Chiyou was one of the ancient Deities, opposing the Yellow Emperor. His followers were all brave warriors, each possessing the ability to reverse their blood flow to their brains and enter a frenzied state. I even have a descendant of Chiyou by my side—Zhang Fan!"
"Blood Devouring is Chiyou's technique; it involves consuming another's blood and transforming it into one's own. This method was originally suitable for demons but was later modified by evil beings within the demon race. However, this technique is too wicked and has been banned for many years."
"Can Blood Devouring be undone?"
"It's difficult. The only way to break the Blood Devouring Curse is for the person being devoured to retaliate," Pixiu said with concern.
"So what exactly is the Spell in Shaoming?"
"I don't know."
"Then why are you doing all this?"
"If nothing happens, I'll be embarrassed."
Sigh, at the critical moment, Pixiu is of no use. I guess I'll have to handle it myself.
Since I can't cut this tube, I'll have to use brute force. I can't mess around with what's on Shaoming, but isn't pulling it off the child the same?
I reached out and grabbed the tube on the child's back, using my other hand to hold the child down, just about to exert force.
"If you're not afraid of killing this girl, then go ahead," a faint voice came from behind.
"Who?" In the same room, I hadn't even sensed that someone was behind me.
A hand suddenly slapped my shoulder, startling me. How could this person be so close?
"What are you so nervous about?" the person said. "You can't beat me anyway, so there's no point in being tense. You might as well relax a bit."
What kind of logic is that? But he might be right; I didn't even notice he was behind me. If he hadn't spoken and just stabbed me, I wouldn't have known who killed me.
"Who are you?" I forced myself to stay calm.
"Why do you care who I am? Isn't it enough that I didn't stab you?" the man continued to tease.
"That won't do; I need to know who you are."
"Fine, I'll give you two choices."
"Choices?"
"One is that I help you rescue this girl, and the other is that I tell you my identity. You can choose one."
Who on earth is this guy? From what he said, he doesn't seem to be from any Blood Demon faction. However, he feels like a powerful fool. I know quite a few fools, but I've never met one with such abilities.
"Please save her." Compared to this person's true identity, I'm more concerned about Shaoming's life.
"You really value loyalty, huh? Alright, go wait over there." The man casually pushed me back, stepping onto the large bed in one stride.
In that moment of turning, I caught a glimpse of his face.
Among the few men I know, not many are handsome. Only Red Boy looks somewhat spirited, but he's still just a child and hasn't fully matured yet.
But this man is different. He has a mature look, yet there's a hint of youthful frivolity and an air of arrogance about him. He seems to be a young man but already possesses the charm of a mature man.
From first impressions, he looks to be around twenty-five to thirty years old, and by today's standards, he is incredibly handsome!
This kind of handsomeness isn't the trendy 'Fresh Meat' type that people fawn over; those so-called Fresh Meat could easily be mistaken for beautiful women with long hair. This man's face isn't overly refined, but it carries a rare sense of audacity. His hair is strikingly golden but lacks any semblance of the so-called "Shamate" style; instead, it gives off an almost sacred illusion.
The man stepped onto the large bed, grabbed a pipe on Shaoming's back, and with a firm squeeze, broke it into two pieces.
I was shocked. I couldn't even cut this pipe with my Flying Sword, yet this person easily snapped it in half with just a light grip.
“Pixiu, do you know this person?” I asked Pixiu, who had been unusually quiet since the man appeared.
“I know him,” Pixiu replied.
Pixiu knows this person? After being trapped under the Ritual Platform for so many years, could this man be someone who survived from ancient times?
“Who exactly is he?” I asked.
“Well,” Pixiu hesitated, “he doesn’t want to tell you. If I come out and he gets upset, I’m afraid of him.”
Pixiu is afraid of him?
“Aren't you a divine beast? Why are you afraid of him?”
“A divine beast doesn’t mean much in front of him. Here’s a hint: he has fought against Sun Wukong.”
Fought against Sun Wukong? What kind of hint is that? Back when Sun Wukong had just reached his peak, he was unstoppable, having cleared the strongest dungeon, Lingxiao Palace. But wasn't he sealed for five hundred years due to cheating? It seems like the version updated during his unsealing, and his equipment is outdated now. So even a fairy could hit him a few times. There are so many people who have fought against Sun Wukong; how am I supposed to know who this guy is?
“Is that really a hint? Are you messing with me?” I shot a glare at Pixiu.
“Don’t worry about it. One thing you can be sure of is that he’s not a bad person, and he should be related to the Girl who just flew out.”
Related to the phoenix? Who on earth is this guy?
Between the conversation with Pixiu, the man had already untied the three tubes from Shaoming.
"Done." The man clapped his hands. "The tubes have been removed. Soon, these tubes will shrink back. When that happens, you can pull this tube out from this girl, but remember to wrap it with your magical power before pulling."
He glanced at me. "Three Azure Flowers, your magical power is quite suitable for healing."
He could tell my magical power at a glance; how terrifying must his own abilities be?
"I'll leave this to you; I'm going to help my Niece." With that, the man vanished from sight, and at the same time, the child on the bed disappeared.
My Niece, wow, this guy looks young but speaks with such authority.
In mid-air, Luan and the Vampire Woman had already clashed several times.
Luan's silver wings had dimmed considerably, but compared to the Vampire Woman opposite her, Luan was still holding up. The Vampire Woman had half of her wing torn off, barely hanging in the air without falling.
"Ah!!!" The Vampire Woman let out a cry as her wings curled in mid-air. The blood light surrounding her body flickered and reappeared behind Luan.
The advantage of the Vampire Woman was her speed, but Luan was no pushover either. She folded her silver wings and then suddenly spread them wide.
As Luan's wings opened, feathers shot out like Flying Swords.
This move had severed half of the Vampire Woman's wings, but now it seemed less effective since she had already suffered a setback and was prepared for it.
The blood light surged and coalesced into a massive spear in mid-air, its tip aimed directly at Luan.
"Blood God Spear!"
The Vampire Woman suddenly swung her spear, leaving no room for Luan to evade.
As the spear tip was about to pierce Luan's body, a clear voice rang out.
"Scatter!"
With that voice, the massive Blood God Spear before Luan dissipated into thin air.
"Who?" the Vampire Woman said sharply.
But there was no one in the air.
"Damn it!" The woman gathered another spear in her hand and hurled it at Luan.
This time, the spear did not vanish. Instead, a young man suddenly appeared in front of Luan, and he pinched the spear between his two fingers, rendering it completely immobile.
"Uncle," Luan called out cheerfully without showing any surprise at the young man's appearance.
"Hey!" the young man replied.
