The layers of heat felt like boiling water, enveloping the face of the State Government. He felt as if his entire body had been immersed in scalding steam, making it nearly unbearable.
He was a practitioner of external martial arts, and although his defenses were strong, the flames of Tao Tie were far too fierce, exceeding his protective range.

Though curious, the State Government did not have the luxury to ponder. Looking down at himself, he saw that his clothes were completely scorched, leaving him in a sorry state.
With a mix of laughter and tears, he said, "This White Phoenix Messenger has never encountered an ancient spirit beast before; how pitifully timid! It seems I need to train more in the future!" With that, he flew towards the direction of the State Government.
Azure Vine brought Lingfeng back to the State Government with great anxiety. On one hand, the State Government was facing the ancient ferocious beast Tao Tie alone; on the other hand, Lingfeng was unconscious and showing unknown symptoms. Just as he was feeling troubled, Tong Yu hurried back. Not finding the State Government, he went to Lingfeng's room.
Azure Vine was changing Lingfeng's towel when he saw Tong Yu enter and quickly said, "I was just worried about not having anyone to watch over Lingfeng. Please take care of him for a moment while I go check on the State Government!"
Tong Yu didn't have time to respond before Azure Vine rushed out. However, before he could step onto his Flying Sword, the State Government appeared in the sky, looking disheveled.
"Sir, please come inside!" The State Government landed on the ground and ushered the astonished Azure Vine into the house.
"My lord, this..." Tong Yu also looked surprised and couldn't help but chuckle.
The State Government sighed and took the towel Tong Yu handed him. "This spirit beast is indeed extraordinary; it almost burned me alive!"
"I came back precisely for this reason. I heard that a spirit beast appeared at Azure Peak Ridge and rushed back without stopping. Could it really be a ferocious spirit beast?" Tong Yu asked anxiously as he looked at the State Government.
The State Government glanced at Azure Vine and nodded slightly. "It's not a particularly formidable spirit beast; it's just a Fire Serpent that has reached the Nascent Soul Stage!"
Although a Nascent Soul Stage Fire Serpent was powerful, it wasn't as fierce as Tao Tie. The State Government said this not only to conceal matters regarding Demon Lord Reincarnation but also to reassure Tong Yu.
Tong Yu finally felt relieved and said, "So that's how it is!"
"By the way, how is Lingfeng doing?" After some trivial conversation, the State Government finally remembered Lingfeng.

As the name suggests, the Soul Capturing Technique utilizes Evil Thoughts to perform the Soul-Devouring Cat technique. However, Tong Yu's version is not one that ordinary people can cultivate. This means that practitioners of this type of Soul-Devouring Cat technique are limited to gods and demons.
Although Evil Thoughts reside within the human body, they are also a form of demonic essence. Thus, Tong Yu's Soul Capturing Technique involves using Evil Thoughts to execute the Soul-Devouring Cat technique.
After hearing Tong Yu's explanation, both the State Government and Azure Vine looked grave as they anxiously watched Lingfeng.
It turned out that Evil Thoughts are inherently evil. The Tao Tie is also an embodiment of evil; therefore, when the Tao Tie appeared before Lingfeng, it further stimulated the Demonic Nature of Evil Thoughts within him. However, Lingfeng's Evil Thoughts originated from the Falling Leaf Technique and were suppressed by its Mind Method, preventing direct communication with Lingfeng. Nevertheless, at the moment the Tao Tie appeared, Lingfeng's Evil Thoughts took advantage of the situation to suppress his soul.
At this moment, Lingfeng found himself in a dark space. Strangely enough, his body seemed to be a source of light; everything around him was pitch black and invisible, yet Lingfeng could see his own body.
"Where is this?" Lingfeng wondered aloud, feeling somewhat puzzled. Although this space was dark and empty, it also seemed quite confined. As he spoke his thoughts, his voice echoed throughout the mysterious space.
"Is anyone there?" Lingfeng asked again.
But no one answered, and his question reverberated in the darkness, "Is anyone there~~ Is anyone there~~ Is anyone..."
"How did I end up here?" Lingfeng thought to himself.
Just as this thought crossed his mind, a response came from all directions in the darkness, "You are in your heart!"
Lingfeng let out a breath and sarcastically replied, "So it's my Evil Thoughts, huh? Long time no see. Have you been feeling good these days being suppressed by the Falling Leaf Technique?"
Evil Thoughts did not get angry; instead, it patiently said, "I brought you here to help you!"
"Help me?" Lingfeng retorted with a laugh. "What can you help me with? Improving my cultivation or enhancing my Demonic Nature? Teaching me how to do evil?" Lingfeng chuckled and added, "If you can teach me how to sever the Demon Root, I'll follow you to learn!"
Lingfeng's words were merely sarcastic; he didn't take Evil Thoughts seriously at all and aimed to provoke it.
However, Evil Thoughts became a demon not only because of its wicked nature but also due to its abilities that ordinary people lacked, such as patience.
Lingfeng's provocation was nothing more than a minor annoyance to Evil Thoughts. It would not easily harm Lingfeng until its goals were achieved and would go to great lengths to protect him.
"I know you are currently overwhelmed with the matters of the Mandala Demon Realm, and now the evil embodiment Tao Tie has reappeared. Tao Tie originally belonged to ancient ferocious beasts; how could it be so easily killed by you? Moreover, it possesses Chiyou's evil Demon Root and the Demonic Energy of the previous Demon Lord, so it will surely find the Demon Lord Reincarnation before you!" said Evil Thoughts.
Lingfeng did not retort but instead calmed down to contemplate Evil Thoughts' words.

Lingfeng thought about the urgent meeting, where so many people from the State Government gathered but failed to come up with a mutually beneficial solution. On the side of the State Government, they preferred peace and did not want to harm the innocent. However, in a war between two armies, casualties were inevitable. Moreover, the Mandala Demon Continent had ulterior motives and was unlikely to resolve its issues in the Cultivation Realm through peaceful means.
"What do you suggest?" Lingfeng began to waver. Regardless of Evil Thoughts' intentions, as long as it could save the Three Realms and all living beings, Lingfeng was willing to take a risk.
Evil Thoughts pondered for a moment and slowly said, "You can use your talents to save the Three Realms and the Mortal Realm!"
"Me?" Lingfeng was confused, thinking that he had no skills or abilities. What qualifications did he have to act as a savior?
"Don't forget, you possess the dual cultivation talent of Celestial and Demonic. However, in the Cultivation Realm, aside from the Mandala Demon Continent, there are probably no better places for Demon Cultivation," Evil Thoughts' voice sounded somewhat excited and greedy, which further displeased Lingfeng.
