Due to excitement, Lingfeng did not feel sleepy at all. After a brief study of some techniques in the morning, he took the opportunity in the afternoon when everyone else was resting to come alone to the Scripture Pavilion. 0

The Scripture Pavilion was not guarded by anyone; it only had a fierce-looking Demon Spirit Statue at the entrance. The statue had a monstrous head with two fangs hanging from its mouth, making it look particularly hideous. Upon seeing this statue, Lingfeng felt a chilling sensation creep through his body. 0

Lingfeng hesitated at the entrance, unsure of how to enter. The large door had no handle, and despite trying to push it a few times, it did not budge. Looking again at the Demon Spirit Statue, Lingfeng felt even more uncertain about whether he should go inside. 0

While he was still indecisive, the voice of the Assassin Hall Master suddenly echoed from behind him. 0

Lingfeng jumped in surprise; he had already felt uneasy seeing the statue, and now the sudden voice from the Assassin Hall Master made him feel as if he had seen a ghost. 0

“Assassin Hall Master, why do you always appear without a sound?” Lingfeng said with a mix of amusement and exasperation as he looked at the Assassin Hall Master. 0

The Assassin Hall Master playfully covered his mouth and chuckled, raising an eyebrow as he asked, “What have you done that makes you look so guilty?” 0

Lingfeng smiled calmly and replied, “I wanted to take a look inside, but I can’t get in. Seeing this statue makes me feel a bit uncomfortable!” 0

“That’s quite normal because this statue is not just an ordinary sculpture; it is covered with Spiritual Energy and has the soul of a Demon Spirit Warrior attached to it!” 0

“A Demon Spirit Warrior?” Although Lingfeng understood the meaning of Demon Spirit Warrior from its literal sense, looking at the statue's face made it seem like some kind of evil spirit. 0

As he gazed at the image of the Demon Spirit Warrior, the Assassin Hall Master showed respect and could not help but gently touch it. To Lingfeng's astonishment, the statue's eyes seemed to move slightly, as if it were pleased with the Assassin Hall Master's action. 0

Lingfeng was taken aback and instinctively took a step back. 0

“The Demon Spirit Warrior is a guardian of the demon realm; they are responsible for maintaining peace in that world. This type of Demon Spirit Warrior serves as a guardian of the gate to the demon realm and carries significant responsibilities. The souls within are collected during battles between the Celestial and Demonic realms, and they have been entrusted with guarding the Spirit Sect!” the Assassin Hall Master explained slowly. 0

Lingfeng nodded in understanding, recalling that when he first arrived at the Spirit Sect, he passed by a cave that had a skeleton above it—likely some kind of creature from the demon realm. 0

After a moment of silence, the Assassin Hall Master took off his Skeleton Pendant from around his neck and placed it into the mouth of the Demon Spirit Statue. The statue immediately closed its mouth; its cheeks twitched for a moment before reopening to spit out the Skeleton Pendant. Meanwhile, the large door slid open like a sliding door into the wall. 0

"Is this how to access the Scripture Repository?" Lingfeng asked. 0

The Assassin Hall Master softly acknowledged and then led Lingfeng inside. 0

"Didn't the Master of the Demon Cult tell you?" the Assassin Hall Master inquired. 0

The light inside the Scripture Repository was dim, and there were no illuminating objects on the walls. 0

"No, he only told me I could come here to read and learn some spells!" Lingfeng replied honestly. 0

The Assassin Hall Master sighed and then waved his hand lightly, causing several streams of spiritual light to fly out, illuminating the walls with twinkling lights. 0

"In fact, the Master of the Demon Cult has done his best because the Spirit Sect stipulates that disciples who have not cultivated here for a year are not allowed to enter the Scripture Pavilion. You arrived here in less than five days and already have the opportunity to enter the Scripture Repository; that's quite extraordinary!" As he spoke, the Assassin Hall Master led Lingfeng to a corner and stood at a teleportation portal. 0

"The structure of the Scripture Repository is also quite special. The first floor is just a spacious hall, while the second and third floors are where the real scriptures are stored. There are some lower-level spell manuals from the Spirit Sect that you can browse through freely!" the Assassin Hall Master explained. 0

Lingfeng had already anticipated this; he knew that every sect has its secrets. The so-called Scripture Repository really only contained some low-level spells. The truly powerful spells were in the hands of the sect's administrators. This approach made sense as it prevented ill-intentioned individuals from stealing high-level spell manuals and avoided reckless cultivation by overly eager disciples. 0

The Assassin Hall Master took Lingfeng to the third floor, selected a few basic manuals on Assassination Techniques and Demon Cultivation, and then went up to the fourth floor alone. 0

Once the Assassin Hall Master disappeared through the portal, Lingfeng turned around to survey his surroundings. He saw rows of bookshelves filled with various books. However, what Lingfeng truly wanted was not the basics of Demon Cultivation but knowledge about high-level spells. 0

To avoid drawing attention, Lingfeng tucked away the few books selected by the Assassin Hall Master into his robe before turning to search for other books. 0

The bookshelves had no labels; although all books were categorized, there were so many that selecting manuals for basic high-level spells was indeed challenging. Moreover, Lingfeng had not encountered many spells related to Demon Cultivation yet, leaving him somewhat confused. 0

Despite this, Lingfeng still had clues to follow. In his mind, his ideal spell for Demon Cultivation was none other than the Spider Silk Technique. Although this technique could only be cultivated by those with profound skills, Lingfeng believed it should be considered a high-level spell from the Mandala Demon Realm. The prestigious Mandala Demon Realm must possess this spell, especially since the Spider Silk Technique originated from there. 0

Thinking of this, Lingfeng couldn't help but feel excited and began browsing through books. After selecting from four or five shelves, he found mostly spells related to self-cultivation or assassination. 0

"Strange, where did the Assassin Hall Master get the Demon Cultivation Manual just now? I can't find it anywhere," Lingfeng said with a hint of regret. When the Assassin Hall Master handed him the manual earlier, Lingfeng was so focused on his own matters that he didn't pay attention to the Assassin Hall Master's actions. 0

"It seems like the Assassin Hall Master didn't leave my side, right?" Thinking of this, Lingfeng felt even more puzzled. The Assassin Hall Master had clearly been standing next to him the whole time, yet he had searched all the nearby bookshelves and found nothing related to Demon Cultivation or Spell. Could it be that this Scripture Repository holds some secrets? 0

With this thought in mind, Lingfeng returned to his original spot. He stood where the Assassin Hall Master had just been and waved his hand around, pulling out all the manuals he could reach. To his excitement, all the manuals he touched were related to Demon Cultivation, although they weren't about any profound Spell. 0

Then Lingfeng realized that these Demon Cultivation manuals were located on a middle shelf that he could reach. Previously, he had instinctively searched the top shelf. Thus, his search for manuals had been superficial and not thorough. 0

Lingfeng checked several bookshelves but found no records of the Spider Silk Technique. 0

Feeling puzzled, Lingfeng wondered why the Spider Silk Technique shouldn't be a secret Spell of the Mandala Demon Realm since both Man Qing and Ziren could use it. Moreover, Man Qing was a cultivator who had only brushed against the edges of Demon Cultivation; it shouldn't be possible for him to learn high-level Spells from the Mandala Demon Realm. 0

"What secrets are hidden here?" Lingfeng felt as if his mind was in chaos, with no clear thoughts. 0

"There are still the second and fourth floors left to explore. What could be up there?" After thinking for a moment, Lingfeng put the manuals back in their places, took the manual given to him by the Assassin Hall Master in hand, and headed to the fourth floor. 0

In comparison, the fourth floor felt even more spacious. Although the corridors were narrow, there was a distinct sense of drifting and disorientation. It felt as if one were in a floating pavilion high above, causing one's mind to wander. 0

Upon reaching the fourth floor, Lingfeng soon began to feel dazed. As he wandered aimlessly for a while longer, the dizzying sensation became increasingly uncomfortable—like being drunk and wanting to vomit but unable to do so. 0

"The fourth floor has been set with an array!" Gradually, Lingfeng realized that this floor was under an array's influence—not an ordinary maze array but an evil Spell that disturbed one's mind. 0

Feeling something was off, Lingfeng turned back to look for a teleportation portal; however, there was no purple light at the end of the corridor. It was pitch black with no end in sight. 0

Lingfeng shook his head vigorously in an attempt to clear his mind. But it was useless; he even noticed a shadow appearing not far away. 0

"Who is it? Is it you, Assassin Hall Master?" Lingfeng squinted and asked softly. 0

But there was no response; his voice echoed through the empty corridors of the fourth floor, drifting endlessly. 0

"Who are you?" Lingfeng asked again. 0

The shadow drew closer, gradually revealing a hint of color. However, it was not the colorful attire of the Assassin Hall Master, but rather the color of yellow earth. 0

Lingfeng felt puzzled; the disciples of the Spirit Sect had strict dress codes. Unless they were high-ranking Demon Cultivators, ordinary disciples were required to wear purple robes. 0

Yet, the shadow before him was slowly turning into a yellow hue, a phenomenon so strange that Lingfeng couldn't help but take a few steps back. 0

Suddenly, the indistinct object that had transformed into a yellow shadow rushed towards Lingfeng, and at that moment, he clearly saw the person's face. 0

"Demon Spirit Warrior!" Lingfeng exclaimed in shock. Before him stood the very Demon Spirit Warrior carved on the gate. 0

The Demon Spirit Warrior held a sharp battle axe in his right hand, his body robust like a monster with a human form. His entire body was covered in yellowish fur, with two horns protruding from his head and two fangs visible at the corners of his mouth. 0

At this moment, he was mocking Lingfeng with a sneer. 0

Lingfeng tried hard to calm himself; he knew that the Assassin Hall Master was on the fourth floor. Thus, he suppressed his inner terror and began to shout desperately around him. 0

With Lingfeng's cries, the chilling atmosphere in the corridor on the fourth floor grew thicker. The terrifying visage of the Demon Spirit Warrior became increasingly apparent. 0
