Wan Shi Tong saw that Man Bu She was about to draw his sword and realized that his joke had gone too far. He quickly calmed himself and said, "Old man, why be so nervous? I'm not here to steal your treasures. I just want to ask you, is the Demon Relic in the Barbarian Sect?"
Man Bu She remained poised for action, and upon hearing Wan Shi Tong's words, tightened his grip on the sword even more. "What Demon Relic? I don't have anything like that here!"
"How can you be so clueless? Everyone in the Cultivation Realm knows that the Demon Relic is specifically associated with the Barbarian Sect. Why are you still lying? Besides, how could I not know about the appearance of the Demon Relic? If you were sensible, you would quickly hand over the Demon Relic to avoid losing your life!" Wan Shi Tong understood that Man Bu She was resistant to both persuasion and intimidation, but true power still lay in threats.
Man Bu She was greedy and obsessed with wealth. Although the Demon Relic was not a lucky item, it was at least a rare treasure in the mortal realm. If Man Bu She truly possessed the Demon Relic, he would certainly not let it go easily.
"The Demon Relic concerns the survival of the Cultivation Realm. If it falls into the hands of someone from the Mandala Demon Realm, the consequences would be unimaginable!" Lingfeng said, realizing that Wan Shi Tong's words were ineffective and resorting to patience.
"I know that the Demon Relic is crucial for the survival of the Cultivation Realm, and I do want to obtain it. But why do you all insist that it must be in my possession? Moreover, with such a vast Barbarian Lands, why don’t you look elsewhere?" Man Bu She seemed somewhat swayed by Lingfeng's words but still denied having the Demon Relic. Unfortunately, he couldn't squeeze out any tears; otherwise, he would have put on a pitiful act.
Lingfeng looked helplessly at Wan Shi Tong, unsure how to deal with Man Bu She.
Wan Shi Tong smirked as if he had just enjoyed fine wine and was still savoring its taste. He said calmly, "You are the leader of the largest sect in Barbarian Lands, the Barbarian Sect, and also part of the State Government of Barbarian Lands. The geographical location of the Barbarian Sect is an excellent treasure spot in Barbarian Lands. Historically, the Demon Relic has always ended up with the Barbarian Sect; why do you need to argue? Don't forget, I am Wan Shi Tong, who knows everything!"
Wan Shi Tong's words genuinely surprised Lingfeng, who then looked closely at Man Bu She again, doubting whether he had misheard.
"Big brother, what do you mean? He is part of the State Government?" Lingfeng tugged at Wan Shi Tong's sleeve and asked.
Wan Shi Tong showed no hesitation as if this matter was nothing significant. He nodded and said, "Yes, ever since the demon lord from above was defeated, the State Government of Barbarian Lands has been taken over by the Barbarian Sect while simultaneously managing major affairs in Barbarian Lands. The successive masters of the Barbarian Sect automatically become part of the State Government!"
Lingfeng finally understood; it turned out that this was how things worked in Barbarian Lands. Looking at Man Bu She before him, he saw no semblance of a State Government figure—he seemed worlds apart from those in the Demon Suppression Prefecture—and couldn't help but sigh.
Wan Shi Tong intended to expose Man Bu She to make him back down and hand over the Demon Relic. However, seeing that Wan Shi Tong was relentless, Man Bu She stubbornly threw down his sword and plopped down onto a golden chair, declaring defiantly, "If you're going to kill me, then go ahead! Since you don't believe my words, just kill me."
Now Wan Shi Tong found himself at a loss; he certainly couldn't kill Man Bu She. He glanced helplessly at Lingfeng and sighed lightly.
Lingfeng’s eyes sparkled as he smiled mysteriously at Wan Shi Tong before putting on a troubled expression and saying dramatically, "Forget it; everyone has their fate. If it's meant to destroy the Cultivation Realm, then let it be!" With that, he pulled Wan Shi Tong toward the exit.
However, before they reached the door, it swung open with a bang. Standing outside was an angry figure followed by a group of panicked disciples from the Barbarian Sect.
Wan Shi Tong was puzzled and thought that perhaps these disciples had discovered their leader being threatened and had come to help him; thus he lowered his guard.
But Lingfeng and Man Bu She stared in surprise at the leading figure until they heard Man Bu She solemnly say, "Zhu, you're back!"
Standing at the entrance, the person with an angry expression was Man Pillar.
Man Pillar glanced at Lingfeng and the All-Knowing One, his facial expression unchanged. He then seemed to not recognize Lingfeng, ignoring Man Bu She's smoke and directly walked into the Golden Palace, leaving a series of dirty shoe prints on the golden brick floor.
Man Bu She flashed a hint of displeasure but quickly returned to a gloomy and serious demeanor, dissatisfied he said, "Seeing that you just returned to our sect and are unaware of the new rules we have established, I will not punish you for your disrespect towards your elders. Leave quickly, and I will forgive you!"
Man Pillar sneered twice and casually spat on the Golden Brick Floor, grinning as he said, "The savings accumulated by the Barbarian Sect over the years must have been squandered by you!"
The disciples outside gasped in astonishment but dared not speak.
"How dare you, Man Pillar! You are so audacious to act this way! Do you still consider yourself a disciple of the Barbarian Sect?" Man Bu She could not afford to lose face in front of the disciples and stood up abruptly, pointing at Man Pillar and shouting.
"A disciple of the Barbarian Sect?" Man Pillar took two steps forward, coldly looking at Man Bu She and said, "Do you dare to claim you are a disciple of the Barbarian Sect? Don't you know that the appointment of the sect leader and the establishment of new rules must be announced in front of all disciples? Yet you took it upon yourself to assume the role of sect leader while I was away and enacted laws privately. This has already violated the rules of the Barbarian Sect; do you not realize that?"
Man Pillar was passionate and righteous. When Man Qing passed away, he had asked Man Bu She to send someone to bring back his master's body. However, Man Bu She told Man Pillar to handle it himself, revealing his heartless and ungrateful nature without reservation.
Although Man Pillar harbored suspicions about Man Bu She, he did not expect him to be so bold as to disregard the rules of the Barbarian Sect. Upon returning, he had already been warned by his junior brothers not to come back, but Man Pillar ignored their advice and resolutely came to the main hall out of impulse.
Seeing Man Pillar, Man Bu She felt somewhat guilty. However, with the All-Knowing One and Lingfeng present, he feared losing face and thus maintained a serious facade towards Man Pillar while secretly wanting to win him over. After all, Man Pillar was the eldest disciple of the Barbarian Sect and also a direct disciple of Man Qing. Since Man Pillar treated his fellow disciples like brothers, he had quite a good reputation. If he could win over Man Pillar, it would lead other disciples to genuinely submit.
However, it seemed that Man Pillar's return was ill-timed as there were outsiders present. Therefore, Man Bu She could not afford to lose face. Unexpectedly, Man Pillar openly brought up how Man Bu She had privately violated sect rules in front of outsiders, which made things quite awkward for him.
Lingfeng and the All-Knowing One understood some of what was happening; they exchanged smiles and reached a consensus to stay for a while longer as entertainment.
Of course, Lingfeng remained somewhat clear-headed; after all, Man Pillar did not reveal Lingfeng's true identity but remained calm as if he did not recognize Lingfeng at all.
Seeing that Man Pillar showed no signs of backing down, Man Bu She could only smile at the All-Knowing One and said, "Gentlemen, this is our family matter; please excuse yourselves!"
The All-Knowing One shook his head repeatedly; his short beard swayed from side to side like tufts growing from his chin. Coupled with his pouting lips, he looked particularly comical.
"No way! We haven't received any answers yet; we can't leave empty-handed!" The All-Knowing One insisted while retracting his foot from the Mandala Demon Flower as they both stood firmly on the ground.
Seeing himself in such a difficult situation with enemies on both sides, Man Bu She thought for a moment and shot a fierce glare at Man Pillar before sternly declaring, "Unfilial disciple Man Pillar! Disrespectful towards your elders and violating Barbarian Sect regulations! As sect leader, I announce that unfilial disciple Man Pillar is expelled from the Barbarian Sect, and his cultivation will be revoked!"
As soon as Man Bu She's announcement came out, those disciples gasped in astonishment and then immediately knelt at the entrance of the Golden Palace pleading for mercy on behalf of Man Pillar.
Man Pillar calmly addressed the disciples kneeling at the door, saying loudly, "Brothers, there is no need to plead for me. If he wishes to strip away my cultivation, he may try. But if he wants to expel me from the Barbarian Sect, he must first ask my master. Without my master's permission, he won't be able to touch a single hair on my head!"
The shout of Man Pillar echoed throughout the golden hall, and the golden light made him appear even more solemn, as if a divine warrior had descended.
Lingfeng was even more passionate, eager to cheer for Man Pillar, grabbing the hand of Wan Shitong and shaking it from side to side, shouting, "Support Brother Man, support Brother Man!" This left everyone else feeling quite puzzled.
Man Bu She rolled his eyes in anger, glanced at everyone, then gritted his teeth and suddenly vanished from his spot.
Seeing this, Wan Shitong also disappeared from the scene. Then there was a loud crash that resonated in front of Man Pillar, and two figures appeared before him—Wan Shitong and Man Bu She.
Man Bu She had intended to take advantage of the situation to cripple Man Pillar's cultivation. However, Wan Shitong, who loved to meddle in others' affairs, saw that Man Pillar was righteous and upright. He stepped forward and blocked Man Bu She's attack.
Man Bu She did not expect Wan Shitong to intervene. His palm did not strike Man Pillar, but instead hit Wan Shitong's protective barrier and was rebounded. The immense force immediately pushed Man Bu She back two steps, causing his face to turn pale.
"Wan Shitong, what do you mean by this?" Man Bu She gasped for breath and questioned unhappily.
Wan Shitong chuckled twice, turned to look at the surprised Man Pillar, and shielded him behind himself. "I, Wan Shitong, have always liked to act chivalrously. When I see injustice, I naturally have to draw my sword to help. You old man disregard the rules and want to kill someone in front of this Hero. How can we just stand by?"
Upon hearing Wan Shitong's name, everyone sighed in surprise; they hadn't expected this person to be Wan Shitong.
