Lingfeng turned around and ran out from the soon-to-form stone wall, standing to the side with a grin as he looked at the surprised people.
The entire passage from the dungeon to the outside was winding and seemed endless. The spell Lingfeng had just cast was a temporary formation he devised based on the hints from the Fire Protection Formation.
Angry roars from the Red-Haired Demon and the Dragon Slayer echoed from within the stone wall, causing it to tremble as small stones continuously fell away.
Lingfeng knew that with his spell, he couldn't stabilize the stone wall for long, so he used the Fire Control Technique to add a layer of flames to the outer perimeter of the wall. This increased the temperature of the wall, enhancing the adhesion between the stones.
Lingfeng didn't dare to delay and hurried out of the dungeon towards the exit.
When he reached the well he had come from, muffled groans came from above. Lingfeng looked up in confusion and found that the massive figure of Wanshitong was stuck at the well opening, blocking it completely.
"Big brother, what are you doing here? Did someone ambush you?" Lingfeng shouted towards Wanshitong's lower body.
Hearing Lingfeng's voice, Wanshitong let out a relieved groan and quickly said, "Little brother, I'm stuck here! Hurry up and find a way to get me out."
Lingfeng knocked on the wall, producing a dull sound. Clearly, there was no empty space around this well; to free Wanshitong, he would have to widen it.
"Big brother, is Sister Mu Qiu up there? I can't get you out by myself!"
Upon hearing this, Wanshitong called out several times towards the outside, but no one responded. He then helplessly said, "That girl could be anywhere; I can't see her at all!"
"Could it be that Sister is trapped inside a cave?" Lingfeng pondered. Mu Qiu's sudden disappearance likely meant she had found this underground entrance. But how did she manage to sneak past such strict guards at the well?
After thinking for a moment, Lingfeng said, "Big brother, I need to go back for a bit; Sister is probably still inside!" Without waiting for Wanshitong's response, he hurried back into the cave.
The Stone Array he set up had turned red, and the painful groans of the Loyal Minions could be heard from within.
"Is my senior sister inside?" Lingfeng shouted at the stone formation.
After a moment of silence, a series of muffled sounds of ambush emerged, followed by a sudden tremor in the walls of the Stone Array, which then shattered with a loud crash.
Lingfeng took two steps back and saw a figure emerge from the dust—someone with a darkened face, filled with rage. Upon closer inspection, it was Mu Qiu.
"Senior... sister!" Lingfeng said, half-laughing and half-crying as he looked at Mu Qiu, speaking weakly.
Mu Qiu snorted coldly, glanced at Lingfeng, and complained, "These people are too foolish. I thought they could break the stone wall, but who knew I would have to take action myself!"
Lingfeng looked at those people; they had all been subjected to a forbidden spell, including the Dragon Slayer and the Red-Haired Demon. They probably never imagined that a master from the Demon Suppression Sect was among them.
"By the way, where is the jack-of-all-trades?" Mu Qiu asked, looking around but not seeing him.
"Oh, he's stuck on top of the well!" Lingfeng hurriedly replied.
Mu Qiu was momentarily stunned, then her eyes rolled as she chuckled with schadenfreude.
"Senior sister, the well opening is blocked by big brother. We need to think of a way to get out!"
"This is simple!" Mu Qiu flicked her sleeves and turned to look at those people. With a cheerful smile, she walked over to the Red-Haired Demon, ruffled his hair, causing him to break out in a cold sweat.
Mu Qiu let out a cold chuckle and leaned closer to the Red-Haired Demon, saying, "I want you to take me out of here, and you'd better not try any tricks!" With that, she gathered a bit of Spiritual Energy on her fingertip and broke the Red-Haired Demon's seal.
The Red-Haired Demon trembled, shook its arms, and suddenly grabbed a sword, swinging it towards Mu Qiu.
Mu Qiu seemed to have anticipated this move. She coldly smiled and swiftly waved her sleeve. With a whoosh, the Red-Haired Demon's head fell to the ground, its eyes still wide open in defiance.
Everyone was drenched in cold sweat, unable to move their bodies. However, some of the Loyal Minions had already wet themselves, and a foul odor quickly spread throughout the dungeon.
Lingfeng looked at the head of the Red-Haired Demon and shook his head helplessly. He thought to himself that he had intended to give it a chance to escape, but it dared to play tricks in front of Mu Qiu—wasn't that just asking for death?
"Who else dares to play tricks?" Mu Qiu coldly scanned the crowd, her voice as icy as frost.
The others could only maintain their positions, unable to respond at all.
"If you don't answer, that means you're dissatisfied with me!" Just as Mu Qiu was about to wave her sleeve again, Lingfeng hurriedly grabbed her arm and said with a grin, "Senior Sister, please calm down. These people have been sealed by you and can't express their opinions!"
Only then did Mu Qiu realize this. She sighed and pushed her palms forward, sending several beams of spiritual light onto those individuals. The Loyal Minions, including the Dragon Slayer, immediately collapsed onto the ground and then quickly knelt down, begging for mercy.
"You don't need to beg for mercy; whether you can leave alive depends on your luck. Anyone who dares to play tricks on me will end up like this red-haired monkey!"
"Oh dear lady, spare us! Please spare us!" the Loyal Minions pleaded frantically.
Mu Qiu nodded slightly and said expressionlessly, "It's good that you understand my power. Now tell me how we can get out of this cave!"
"I know!"
"I know."
"..."
These people scrambled towards Mu Qiu, trying to please him, even pushing aside their companions.
Lingfeng sighed helplessly. These individuals often spoke of righteousness and morality, claiming they would willingly risk everything for their friends. Yet when it came to matters concerning their own names, they only protected themselves, eager to use their once-close brothers as stepping stones.
Mu Qiu shook his head, not wanting to look at these people any longer.
"That big man, you must be their leader. Come out and lead the way!" Mu Qiu spotted Dragon Slayer hiding in the crowd. From his attire, it was clear he was the leader of these individuals. As the saying goes, to catch a thief, one must first capture the ringleader; as long as he could restrain their leader, he had nothing to fear from them causing trouble.
Dragon Slayer trembled violently. The leader looked up and met Mu Qiu's cold gaze, quickly putting on a fawning smile as he crawled to Mu Qiu's feet and said sweetly, "What can I do for you, my lady?"
"Take me outside!" Mu Qiu commanded.
"Sure, sure! That's easy!" Man Mountain quickly flipped over and stood up, obediently waiting by the side like a servant.
"You all stand up too. In a moment, move all the fruits stolen from the Demon Suppression Sect outside. Anyone who dares to slack off will taste the consequences of my sleeves!" After all, these people were merely the best labor force available.
Seeing those individuals disappear into the cave, Mu Qiu nudged Dragon Slayer and urged, "Hurry up and take us out!"
Dragon Slayer walked ahead, followed by Lingfeng and Mu Qiu. Based on the lessons learned from the last time, Lingfeng wrapped Mu Qiu's sleeve around Dragon Slayer's neck to prevent him from escaping if they encountered another secret room along the way.
After passing through several openings above, the three faced a sealed wall.
Dragon Slayer felt around and then pressed hard on a protruding stone nearby. To their surprise, with a creaking sound, the wall opened horizontally, revealing a scene that was oddly familiar.
As the three stepped out, they found themselves in an empty room. Lingfeng looked around in confusion and suddenly realized that this house was actually the one in the front yard of the Abandoned House.
"So the entrance really is here! I've been here once before, how did I not think of it?" Lingfeng shook his head repeatedly, feeling incredulous.
Mu Qiu didn't say much and pushed Dragon Slayer outside. At this point, it was bright outside and the sky was clear.
Lingfeng led Mu Qiu and Dragon Slayer to the well, where they saw Wan Shitong half-exposed outside, his lower body stuck in the well opening, and he was actually sleeping.
"What a fool, how can he sleep like this!" Mu Qiu said while squatting down to gently wipe the sweat off Wan Shitong's forehead.
Lingfeng couldn't help but chuckle silently but didn't want to break the moment.
However, Dragon Slayer, lacking awareness, started to laugh out loud.
Just as Lingfeng was about to cover his mouth, it was already too late. Mu Qiu ominously said, "I wanted to let you live a little longer, but you don't appreciate it!" With that, turning away from Dragon Slayer, she waved her sleeves, two flashes of cold light passed by, blood splattered everywhere, and internal organs flew as Dragon Slayer's body was split in half.
With blood all over his face, Lingfeng looked at the dismembered body of Dragon Slayer beneath him and couldn't help but gasp. He suddenly felt that this senior sister before him was not human but a devil.
"Senior Sister, you, you..." Lingfeng was so shocked that he couldn't speak and could only stare blankly at Mu Qiu.
Mu Qiu wiped the sweat from Wan Shitong's face, not even looking at Lingfeng, and said coldly, "There is no need to show mercy to people like them!" Immediately after, there were several sharp sounds as the walls of the well beside Wan Shitong were shattered into pieces.
Lingfeng helped Mu Qiu pull Wan Shitong out but didn't say much.
"I'm going to check on them!" Lingfeng said and hurried toward the cave entrance.
Some Loyal Minions had already moved the fruits of the Demon Suppression Sect outside and piled them in the yard.
Lingfeng glanced at them and suddenly felt an infinite pity in his heart. They committed evil deeds, but they were forced to do so—by life, by Hezi's authority.
"The Dragon Slayer is dead!" Lingfeng said in a low voice.
The people looked at Lingfeng with blank expressions, as if the deceased had nothing to do with them.
"If you don't want to get into trouble, it's best to behave yourselves from now on. Otherwise, if you encounter someone like my Senior Sister, she won't care about any feelings and will definitely kill you on the spot!" Lingfeng warned.
Having witnessed Mu Qiu's ruthless side, those people quickly knelt at Lingfeng's feet and pleaded, "Hero, please spare our lives! We promise we will behave from now on!"
