The ground in front of him was littered with shattered items, broken in a fit of rage.
"Young Master, we are currently at Green Castle. The main purpose of our visit is the iron mine as instructed by the Master... so let's try not to create any unnecessary trouble," the guard beside him reminded, fearing he might act out again.
"I know!! I'm not an idiot!" Olyssis's anger gradually subsided in response to the guard's kind reminder.
"Hmph! If it weren't for the iron mine being crucial to my father's plans, this Green Family would have been swallowed by us long ago, and that woman... how dare she treat me like that!"
Thinking of Freya's cold yet beautiful face reignited Olyssis's previously cooled temper.
"Young Master, that woman is just a woman after all. If the plan succeeds, will you still care about her?" Seeing Olyssis about to erupt again, the guard comforted him once more.
Taking a deep breath to calm himself, reason returned to Olyssis's mind, though a hint of malice lingered in his eyes.
"As long as that plan is completed... what Green Castle, what Baron... I want them all dead!! And that woman, I want her to regret being a woman for the rest of her life!!"
...
In an empty room, Freya sat quietly on a chair beside the sword rack, dressed in a brown hunting outfit with her eyes closed.
Her hair clung to her face in strands due to sweat, and her small chest rose and fell heavily with each breath, clearly showing that her earlier training had been intense.
In front of her lay a commonly used wooden cross sword and two identical Red Leather Books.
One was an old book she had once owned, while the other was one she had painstakingly found in the library; both books belonged to the same author.
As her strength gradually recovered with rest, Freya opened her eyes and frowned slightly at the two books before her.
After reaching the limits of basic swordsmanship, she had initially planned to seek advice from the Baron on sword techniques. However, upon reflection, she realized that the Baron's style was entirely based on overwhelming power with a massive sword. While he could teach her now, their styles were too different.
She understood well the consequences of being influenced by an unsuitable sword style.
Although Freya didn't care much about the previous provocation from Berta's second son, she felt it was still necessary to report to Baron.
After a quick tidy-up and hanging the wooden sword at her waist, she walked out of the room.
...
Baron's private study.
The room was not large, with two bookshelves filled with books along the walls. A full suit of Silver Armor hung beside the bookshelf, emitting a faint cold light under the candlelight.
This room served not only as Baron's office but also as a place for discussions.
At this moment, Baron and Olyssis were sitting at the round table characteristic of the study. In front of both of them was a white cup; due to the time, the drink had cooled somewhat, but a light mint fragrance still wafted from within.
It seemed that the two had been conversing for quite some time.
Taking a gentle sip of his drink, Olyssis frowned slightly before smiling and saying, "Uncle Green, my father is determined to acquire the iron mine in your territory. Our family is willing to invest heavily this time."
"Yes, the price offered by Lord Viscount is indeed attractive. If it's genuine, I will consider it," Baron nodded, his tone flat and devoid of any emotion.
"..."
Seeing Baron's expression, Olyssis felt a wave of frustration. From the moment he met Baron, he had been following his father's instructions to persuade Baron to purchase the iron mine. Given that price, it was clear that this was a profitable deal for anyone who wasn't foolish. Yet the man before him remained noncommittal throughout, showing no signs of yielding.
Unable to decipher Baron's thoughts any longer, Olyssis gritted his teeth and said, "Uncle Green, is there really anything to consider? If you still find it insufficient, I can step out so I can provide my father with an answer."
"Mm..." Upon hearing Olyssis's determination, Baron slightly furrowed his brow as if pondering something.
Through practicing basic swordsmanship, she gradually realized that her strength had not increased much at all. Instead, her Agility and flexibility had already matched that of Baron, which meant she would find it difficult to inherit Baron's sword techniques and could only pursue the path of quick strikes.
After much contemplation, Freya discovered that given her current physical condition and experience, the book she had seen in the library was the most suitable for her.
"Perhaps I can give it a try!" Freya thoughtfully touched the Red Leather Book in front of her. "Otherwise, I'll have to take my chances at my father's Noble Academy."
Compared to the previous books, this one was much thicker and contained numerous methods and training elements for using a Stiletto. Although it couldn't compare to having someone teach her directly, it was detailed enough, and the information she deduced based on Freya's own thinking was quite accurate.
After quickly flipping through it, the contents were etched into her mind.
She flexed her agile wrist, stood up, and picked up her wooden sword.
Exhaling lightly, her gaze suddenly sharpened!
"Hiss..."
With a faint sound of wind, her figure abruptly appeared about a meter ahead, with the Cross Sword's Sword Tip pointing straight ahead.
The incredible speed caused her golden hair to whip up dramatically before settling down slowly.
"This is a thrust!" She looked seriously into the distance. "And then... a second thrust..."
"Hiss!"
"Pop!"
Compared to the earlier speed where her figure was nearly invisible, the speed of the second thrust was even faster. In an instant, her sword combined with a special footwork surged forward again.
Due to the extreme speed, the Sword Tip of the wooden sword emitted a faint sound as it sliced through the air.
Then, she lightly jumped back, quickly retracting the sword in her hand and raising it slightly before striking out fiercely.
"Whoosh..." "Swish..."
The wooden blade sliced through the air, drawing a silver line as it cut forward and then thrust again, executing a two-part combo.
Under Freya's control, all four strikes landed in the same spot, but the entire sequence took less than two seconds.
Next came the parry stance, pursuit stance, evasion stance, and counterattack stance... each movement was swift and concise, carrying a sense of fierce wind.
Soon, Stiletto's training methods were fully demonstrated by her.
Heavy breathing echoed in the room as Freya returned to her chair. The exhaustion from overexertion left her feeling unable to move at all.
"I didn't expect that just three minutes would drain all my stamina... It seems that Stiletto, besides requiring agility and flexibility, also demands a great deal of explosive power. Otherwise, I might collapse before even defeating my opponent..."
Half-reclining in her chair, she unbuttoned her top, revealing the fabric underneath and her fair skin at the chest. The fitted hunting outfit made her heavy breathing feel constricted and very uncomfortable.
This Stiletto training method was much more difficult than the initial training of Basic Swordsmanship, but its power was incomparable to that of Basic Swordsmanship.
The book stated that if one could master Stiletto to its fullest extent, the techniques used would be as magnificent as a Waltz composed of Sharp Blade, capable of shattering everything in its path—noble yet deadly.
Of course, Freya did not know whether the author of this book, the Noble Swordsman Leonardo, ever achieved mastery. However, from what she could see so far, the path he pursued with Stiletto was undoubtedly powerful.
Stiletto did not demand much strength from the swordsman; it discarded a large portion of the chopping techniques that required power found in basic swordsmanship. Instead, it focused on precise and swift actions like thrusting, stabbing, slicing, and flicking. Moreover, its techniques were characterized by continuous two-part combos that easily drew opponents into its rhythm, leading them to defeat and death.
After resting for a while, Freya gained a preliminary understanding of this swordsmanship.
Looking out the window, she realized it had unknowingly become evening.
Seeing Baron’s expression, Olyssis raised his eyebrows slightly, thinking that things had finally taken a turn for the better. However, the next words he heard doused him with cold water.
“If there’s nothing else, please leave,” Baron said in a cold tone.
“You…” Olyssis widened his eyes in disbelief, not expecting the man before him to be so unyielding. Although he had many words he wanted to throw at Baron, he finally stood up and could only glare at Baron, knowing his current situation and Baron’s absolute power.
“Fine! Since it’s like this, Baron, I will report your response to my father honestly. I hope you know what you’re doing.”
In response to the young man’s veiled threat, Baron merely waved his hand lightly, signaling for him to leave.
Even though he was the second son of a Viscount, not even Viscount Belta would dare speak to him like that under certain circumstances. If it weren’t for avoiding unnecessary disputes, or if Baron were to take Olyssis's head on the spot, Viscount Belta would have no choice but to swallow the bitter fruit and digest it forever…
Bang!
With a heavy slam of the door, Olyssis walked out of the study with a dark expression. Outside stood four guards waiting for him, along with a bear-like strong man—Howard Bailey.
Seeing their young master turn and leave without a word, the four guards exchanged glances, perhaps already guessing something, and hurried to catch up.
Howard Bailey watched the five departing figures with an expressionless face, wondering what they were thinking.
