From various books, Freya gradually discovered that this world was not merely a simple era of cold weapons. In certain special places, Transcendence existed, where extraordinary individuals possessed remarkable abilities. They could command the forces of nature, summoning wind and rain, and these powerful beings were known as wizards. 0

However, these were ultimately tales passed down from person to person, and the actual situation needed to be verified carefully. 0

The night passed peacefully without incident. 0

Early the next morning, Freya packed her belongings and left Green Castle in an ordinary carriage without disturbing anyone. 0

The sky was overcast, and it was drizzling. 0

Amidst vast stretches of green forest, the carriage Freya was riding in wobbled along a winding path. 0

This forest path was a shortcut to Kent City. Aside from a few hunters and those in a hurry, not many people traveled this way. More importantly, this route significantly avoided the territory of Berta. 0

At this moment, the conflict between Baron and Berta had worsened day by day. It was easy to imagine what would happen if a carriage were discovered coming from Green Territory. 0

Kent City was over ten miles away from the rural Green Territory, and it was still more than twenty miles until the Noble Academy in Kent opened for the semester, so Freya was not in a hurry. 0

On this trip, aside from a maid and a burly middle-aged coachman, Baron had not provided her with any additional guards. 0

The rain continued to fall, seemingly on the verge of intensifying. The maid inside the carriage appeared to be around Freya's age, about fourteen or fifteen years old. She was just an ordinary-looking girl—thin and dark—cautiously huddled in a corner, always waiting for Freya's instructions. Meanwhile, the coachman skillfully urged the horses forward, trying to keep the carriage as steady as possible. 0

They had been traveling along this road for over an hour now. The once dense forest had become much lower, and in the distance, signs of houses and people could already be seen. 0

Freya extended her hand out of the carriage; the raindrops felt cool against her palm. 0

"Vitt, are we about to leave the forest?" Freya suddenly asked the coachman driving the carriage. 0

Freya turned around, raising an eyebrow at Baron's suggestion. However, after a moment's thought, she realized that while Berta was troublesome for Baron, she was not a fatal threat. Moreover, Kent City was a major city in the Byron Kingdom, and there were some things that could not be found in the Green Territory. Missing this opportunity would mean waiting until next year, which made her somewhat tempted. 0

"Okay, I understand, Father." 0

"Alright, you can go back and rest now." Baron smiled and waved his hand. 0

Freya nodded and left. Behind her, Baron's previously smiling face gradually faded, revealing a hint of deep fatigue. 0

He turned to glance at the familiar training room. In the distance, a pile of wooden blocks was oddly placed there, causing Baron to narrow his eyes slightly; the smooth cuts resembled sword wounds. 0

"Could it be from Bailey recently?" 0

... 0

Not paying attention to how Baron speculated about the damage to the sword rack, Freya went straight back to her bedroom. 0

The lightness she felt while practicing swordsmanship gradually faded, but the sensation of energy in her chest lingered faintly. 0

Freya curiously focused on experiencing the flow of energy within her body, like a swimming fish. 0

"This must be what they call the sensation of energy..." 0

She knew that by properly training this sensation of energy, once stimulated, her body would unleash tremendous power. 0

"I wonder what it feels like to truly become Knight Level," Freya thought with some longing. 0

As for going to Kent City, Freya understood that this was Baron's decision to truly engage with Berta in battle. After all, if Freya were in the castle, Baron would be somewhat distracted during the fight. It was better for her to stay away and return after it was over. 0

"Going out is fine; Kent City is also home to the so-called wizards known as Mystics and some foreign Humanoid Races. I wonder if I will encounter any." 0

"Yes, sister." The middle-aged man named Vitt wiped the rain from his face and said respectfully, "We are about to reach the Iron Mine Area, which is the border. Please bear with us and do not make any noise." 0

"Mm, I understand." Freya nodded. 0

At this moment, the conflict between the two territories was gradually escalating, and Freya had made ample preparations to pass through Berta. 0

Her attire was no different from that of an ordinary common girl; her grayish-brown linen dress was somewhat dirty, and her golden hair had been dyed a plain flaxen color. She did not carry her two swords but had placed them in a compartment of the carriage, easily accessible. 0

The driver, Vitt, had once worked as a coachman in Berta Territory for a time before relocating to Green Territory for certain reasons. He was quite familiar with both territories. 0

As time passed, the originally bumpy carriage gradually stabilized. Although Freya did not look outside, she knew they were now on the main road. 0

A faint scent of blood lingered in the air. For ordinary people, the smell was no different from usual, but Freya was particularly sensitive to it. As she gradually advanced to Knight Level, she became adept at noticing some unusual things. 0

It was evident that battles had frequently occurred in this area recently. 0

Freya looked out of the carriage and saw tents stationed along both sides of the main road. Some soldiers wearing half armor adorned with the Green Family emblem were cooking something in makeshift pots made of stone, emitting a light aroma. 0

The ordinary carriage passing by only received a brief glance before they looked away; these soldiers were unaware that Freya was inside. 0

In the distance, some slender black pillars stood sparsely. Atop each pillar was a spherical object covered with black cloth, from which black liquid flowed down under the rain's wash. 0

Seeing this, Freya's face turned pale. Her keen eyesight allowed her to discern some poorly covered objects; they were severed heads hanging up, and they appeared relatively fresh, clearly having been placed there not long ago. 0

Although she understood the brutality of battle, witnessing such a spectacle firsthand was far more impactful. However, as she encountered such sights more often, her initial discomfort began to adapt. 0

Freya glanced back at the young maid sitting at the rear of the carriage; her face was also deathly pale. It was clear that she had seen those things too but was obviously much more affected than Freya. 0

"Sister... is there anything you need?" The maid trembled slightly, wanting to rise as she caught Freya's gaze, clearly misunderstanding her intentions. 0

"It's nothing, you can sit down." With a sigh, Freya directly lowered the curtains hanging on both sides of the carriage window, blocking out the outside view. 0

In an instant, the opaque carriage became somewhat dim, with only occasional bright spots appearing from the door as the carriage jolted. 0

Freya had no interest in conversing with the maid and simply closed her eyes to enter a state of contemplation. 0

The carriage swayed gently, providing a comfortable ride. 0

During this time, aside from one stop where Vitt got off to negotiate with someone, there were no unexpected events. 0

After an unknown amount of time, Freya awoke from a light sleep and pulled back the curtain of the window. Outside was an unfamiliar sight of a forest. 0

"Where are we? Have we already left Berta Territory?" Freya asked softly. 0

"Ah, Sister, you're awake! We just passed the junction and are now on our way to Bet Town. We should be able to rest in about two hours," came Vitt's respectful voice from the front of the carriage. 0
