"Zzzzz..."
The harsh noise filled the entire street, reminiscent of a cat scratching glass.
It was the sound of blades slicing through the air at high speed.
On the Sea People, circles of white marks appeared and disappeared on his skin, while a whirlwind of white Sharp Blades swirled around him. This was a visual effect created by Freya's special footwork combined with her own speed using the Piercing Sword Technique.
The Sea People merely frowned and stood still, their light gray skin glowing with sparks, like rocks in the ocean, remaining unmoved.
This strongest stance was achieved by sacrificing his own speed for absolute power and defense. Even a cavalryman wielding a lance could not harm him in the slightest, let alone Freya's Cross Sword.
"Is this all you can do at Knight Level?" His voice was deep, tinged with disappointment. "It's far from what I imagined!"
Perhaps provoked by his words, the surrounding white whirlwind suddenly accelerated again, revealing silver sword marks gradually within the storm.
The ground slowly plowed wide trenches in this blade storm.
"Zzz..."
Amidst the white marks on his skin, a burst of blue blood suddenly shot out, as if it were some inexplicable signal. Following the initial wound, countless fine cuts erupted on the Sea People's body, and blue blood formed a mist surrounding him under the blade's slicing.
"Oh? Did you actually manage to hurt me? Did you break through just before this?" He looked down at the increasing number of fine wounds on himself, his eyes filled not with surprise but with intense excitement.
"Hahaha, this is the battle I wanted!!!"
"Boom!"
In the midst of the conversation, his entire body, with its fierce muscles, trembled violently, and the swirling hurricane around him was instantly dispersed.
A white figure was sent flying towards the wall but managed to lightly touch it, taking several steps to dissipate the rebound force.
Freya looked pale as she stared at the Sea People across from her. Beads of sweat had drenched her body, and her left arm, holding the Cross Sword, trembled violently, while the blade was already riddled with chips.
However, the airflow that should have dissipated was slowly strengthening in this state.
Yes, she had broken through. Just moments ago, when she unleashed her strongest strike, the sword momentum that should have stopped due to exhaustion suddenly contracted at her chest and then burst forth violently, as if breaking through a thin sheet of glass.
A new power immediately filled her weary body. The sensation in her chest, which could previously be likened to a stream, now felt like a mighty river.
She sensed an endless potential being unleashed; what should have been an imperfect Blade Waltz unexpectedly erupted with even greater power than before.
However, this was ultimately a temporary breakthrough. Even if she could break through the defenses of the Sea People, that would be all she could do.
'Knight Level peak... If I were at my prime...' Facing death once more, she felt no particular regret but rather an unexpected calmness.
Her stamina had reached its limit; her wrist was fractured, and the Cross Sword was already in a state of disrepair. Given her current condition, unless she could instantly recover to full strength or the Sea People chose to spare her life, there was only one path left—death!
The enormous shadow of the Sea People loomed over her body. From those expressionless eyes, Freya surprisingly detected a hint of pity.
The numerous minor wounds on her body seemed to be gradually healing in such a short time.
"Is that all there is?" he frowned as he looked at the exhausted and immobile Freya with a sigh. "I thought we could have a good fight... I didn't expect to be disappointed in the end."
A huge hand reached out towards her, and Freya desperately tried to raise her sword to defend herself, but she couldn't lift it at all.
Her body was directly grasped in his hand, like a doll.
Without any words, she felt her body suddenly tighten, followed by a series of cracking sounds, as if a toy was being dismantled; all the bones in her body broke under that immense force.
'Bang!'
A faint sound echoed as her broken body was casually tossed to the ground.
Freya lay on the ground in an extremely twisted position, her golden hair scattered everywhere, and her azure eyes slowly widened. In her line of sight, a blue bird screamed as it flew across the sky. A faint scent of the sea wafted from her nose, along with the sounds of distant pedestrians walking and talking; everything seemed so clear.
'Is this what death feels like?' she thought hazily. 'My heartbeat is slowly stopping, yet my mind remains so active in this state; it's truly amazing.'
"Sraka..."
Suddenly, a deep female voice seemed to whisper right next to her ear, and she even felt a warm breeze beside her.
As if time had stopped, a burst of Ice Blue Light suddenly erupted around her waist and quickly enveloped her entire body.
A fragrance reminiscent of fresh grass mixed with mint filled the air around her.
"Fragrance?" She suddenly froze. In her clear vision, countless blue-green particles seemed to appear around her, drawing her attention.
'Crack, crack.'
Under the Ice Blue Light, Freya felt her broken bones rapidly reassembling themselves, and her stamina was quickly recovering.
She tried to move her fingers and realized this was not just an illusion.
"What is this...?"
Meanwhile, the Sea People who had just separated from Freya suddenly froze in place, their eyes widening in disbelief at the icy blue glow behind them.
Turning around, they were astonished to find the girl who had been lying on the ground now standing right in front of them.
Her entire body shimmered with a sea-like icy blue hue, giving her an inexplicable sense of unreality.
Feeling the immense vitality within her body, she rotated her previously broken arm, and the Cross Sword in her hand effortlessly carved out silver streaks in the air.
"This feeling..." She squinted her eyes in pleasure and then suddenly opened them wide. "I've never felt this good before!!!"
With a soft sound, Freya instantly vanished from her spot.
As he watched the girl disappear, he instinctively sensed a tremendous sense of danger approaching and almost reflexively raised his arms to block.
With a 'swoosh,' blue blood splattered out, followed by a pair of muscular arms.
A broken Cross Sword suddenly enlarged before his eyes and then pierced through the center of his vision.
In just an instant, the formidable Sea People split in two, blue blood splattering everywhere.
There was a sound of somewhat unsteady footsteps.
Freya appeared behind him, looking dreamily at the corpse on the ground. She gently grasped her arm, which seemed to be entwined with a silver ribbon, a manifestation of her condensed energy.
"This power... is it mine?"
Just as she was astonished by the immense strength she had unleashed, a tearing pain suddenly surged in her mind.
Her vitality rapidly faded, and her Heart in her chest contracted violently. A mouthful of fresh blood spurted from her mouth, while blood trickled from her eyes, ears, and nose.
In her final moments of consciousness, she seemed to see Baron running towards her in terror from around the corner.
