A faint White Light emanated from the White Light Stone, illuminating the entire room. 0

Freya quietly flipped through the book in her hands, pondering and lightly sighing at the swordsmanship researched by the author. 0

"If what is described above is true, then... Stiletto would indeed be the perfect sword technique..." 0

She had already finished reading all about the Piercing Sword Technique, but there were still a few pages left at the end of the book. 0

"What else is there?" 0

She looked at the half-empty page and the noticeably different paper added at the back, frowning slightly. 0

Driven by curiosity, she gently turned the page. 0

However, she found that the following pages did not contain text about sword techniques, but rather a chaotic scrawl of letters. 0

'World... Gate... Eternity...' 0

The distorted handwriting was so illegible that she could only vaguely discern some individual letters' meanings. 0

Large sections of incomprehensible writing, varying in height, filled the entire page. 0

As she scanned it, Suddenly she noticed that all these letters seemed to form a pattern resembling an eye with black pupils on the paper. 0

"Is this a prank?" 0

Looking at this creation made of text, she found it hard to Understand, so she turned to the second page. 0

It was similarly filled with a jumble of crooked letters, but this time they formed a pattern resembling a slightly open Big Mouth. 0

Amidst the text-filled page, she surprisingly recognized the lip contours within that letter-formed image, detailed just like a real mouth. 0

"What is that?" 0

As she frowned slightly at the pattern in her hand, the White Light Stone beside her suddenly dimmed and then brightened again. 0

The sounds of students moving outside had just been present, but now everything fell silent, becoming eerily quiet. 0

A strange atmosphere suddenly emerged, causing Freya, who was sitting on the bed, to feel a chill run through her. 0

Seemingly unaware of anything amiss, Freya instinctively held the object in her arms tighter, her bright blue eyes wide open as she turned to the next page. 0

This time, it was not a pattern formed by distorted writing like the previous two pages, but a landscape painting of a grassland. 0

The sky was blue, the grassland was lush green, and in the painting was an ordinary girl dressed in a white dress and red boots, galloping on a horse across the field, exuding youthful vitality. 0

However, behind the girl was a gray shadow, resembling a stain or something deliberately painted there. 0

Freya stared expressionlessly at the gray shadow behind the girl, seemingly captivated by it, her expression somewhat dazed. 0

'Pat pat' 0

The sound of Leather Boots stepping on a puddle suddenly echoed at the dormitory door, causing her to lift her head slightly and gaze blankly towards the entrance. 0

Through the gap at the bottom of the door, she vaguely saw a pair of familiar red women's boots quietly standing at her door. 0

This made her pause for a moment. Suddenly, she saw those boots bounce lightly. 0

'Pat pat' 0

Bright red liquid splattered into the room with the boots' jump. 0

Freya looked at the liquid, her gaze suddenly sharpening. 0

A sense of danger, different from usual, seemed to emanate from the liquid, and a faint whisper that she couldn't identify sent chills down her spine. 0

She shivered, blinked, and looked again, only to find nothing there, as if it had all been an illusion. 0

Freya frowned lightly, instinctively sensing something unusual. She grasped the Cross Sword that she had kept by her bedside, ready for action at any moment. 0

When she turned back to look at the painting, she was startled to discover that the boots that had been on the girl's feet had vanished. In the gray shadow behind the girl, a strange face appeared—one without a nose, only eyes and a mouth. 0

The eyes and mouth on this newly emerged face were eerily similar to the patterns formed by the text in front of her, and that slightly open Big Mouth seemed to be saying something to her. 0

This bizarre change made her scalp tingle slightly. 0

"An illusion?" She reached out to touch the surface of the face in the painting, feeling a sensation as if she were touching human flesh. 0

"I!!!!" 0

The strange sensation made her retract her hand in an instant. 0

Even she was taken aback! Every hair on her body stood on end! 0

Without thinking, she flipped to the next page and covered it! 0

But she found that this page was a magnified version of that face, with its wide-open black eyes and Big Mouth now appearing as if they were alive, opening and closing. 0

A deep whisper slowly emerged from that mouth. 0

"I am searching... searching..." 0

Freya opened her eyes wide, her scalp tingling as she held the book in her hands. The face seemed to be slowly breaking free from the confines of the pages, its black eyes staring intently at her. 0

She could even feel the force of that face trying to escape from the pages. 0

“!!” 0

This sensation made her body tremble slightly, layers of cold sweat appearing on her skin, as if her thoughts had been blocked! 0

“Searching... I am searching... searching...” 0

Under the illumination of the White Light Stone, an inexplicable atmosphere of danger seemed to press in on her from all directions. 0

“What the hell is this!!” 0

Almost instinctively, she quickly threw the book away, and a powerful aura erupted instantly, causing everything in the room to shake. 0

The book she had thrown fell to the ground, moving slightly. Half of the face had already emerged, its side turned towards her with wide eyes still watching her, its open mouth curving into a mysterious arc. 0

Murmurs continuously escaped from its mouth. 0

“Searching, searching, found it, found it.” 0

Seeing this terrifying scene, without a second thought, she drew her Cross Sword with a sharp sound and thrust it fiercely into the writhing book. 0

“Ah!!!” 0

The Big Mouth immediately let out a piercing shriek. The sound seemed to have an extremely strong penetrating quality, causing the Crystal Clock on the desk to explode instantly, followed by plates and window glass. 0

Meanwhile, Freya's head was filled with a series of overwhelming roars. 0

She saw the face behind the book's anguished scream, where a large amount of black blood gushed out along the blade of the Cross Sword. 0

It quickly soaked the entire floor. 0

The sudden scream made her head spin, but she quickly regained her composure. 0

She sat up abruptly in bed, and the red-covered book fell to the ground with a thud. 0

Freya stared blankly at the book on the floor, then looked around. 0

The familiar dormitory, with the Cross Sword tightly gripped in her hand, still sheathed. Through a crack in the window, she could see that it had become completely dark outside. A cool breeze blew in, sending chills through her body. 0

She caught a glimpse of her reflection in the window and saw her face was deathly pale, devoid of any color, her bright blue eyes filled with fear. 0

Instinctively, she touched her cheek and found it covered in cold sweat. 0

"What is happening?" 0

As she slightly recovered, she picked up the book that had fallen and flipped to the last few pages. There were no distorted letters forming pictures, no scenes of girls riding horses, and no strange faces. 0

Only a simple line of text appeared in the center: 0

"Freya, congratulations on passing the test. Welcome to the ranks of wizards." 0

With her slightly damp fingers, she gently traced over the words, feeling dazed. 0

The text was clearly written in Hegel's handwriting. 0

"This is a test...?" 0

She vaguely sensed Hegel's intentions. 0

Becoming a knight requires exceptional talent, so the wizard of Transcendence must also need talent, but from her current perspective, it seemed she had passed. 0

Although she still felt a bit apprehensive about the strange test she had undergone, she found herself increasingly yearning for the path of a wizard. 0

After putting away her books on the table, she glanced at the nearby Crystal Clock, which showed it was two in the morning. 0

"Eight hours..." 0

She didn't expect so much time to have passed. She touched her stomach. 0

Since returning from the library, she had been in her dormitory and hadn't even eaten dinner, leaving Freya feeling somewhat hungry. 0

At this hour, the cafeteria at the academy had long since closed, and there were no twenty-four-hour convenience stores nearby, so there was simply nothing to eat. 0

"Forget it, I might as well go to sleep." 0

Just as she was thinking about enduring the night and having breakfast in the morning, a deliberately light footstep sounded from outside her door, standing at her entrance. 0

Before long, a silver dagger slipped in and easily broke the door lock. 0
