After signing the Contract, Freya walked out of the laboratory with a relaxed expression.
The remaining apprentices immediately understood that she had passed the assessment.
However, this also meant that there were now only two spots left out of three, causing the faces of the eight apprentices to look rather grim.
But this no longer concerned Freya.
Without lingering, she walked past everyone and left the Necromancy Department building.
Although on the surface the Necromancy Department's laboratory looked like any other department's, the activity level of the Negative Energy Particles representing the Necromancy Department was extremely intense. Even after staying for just a short while, Freya could clearly feel a slight imbalance in the Energy Particles within her body.
She took out a pouch that she had prepared earlier from her waist, opened it, and gently poured out its contents.
Some black particles mixed with golden grains flowed into her hand from the pouch.
She brought it to her nose and sniffed; the particles emitted a faint odor of decay, causing Freya to frown slightly.

High risks often come with high rewards.

Fortunately, her Basic Knowledge was quite comprehensive. Even when dealing with high-radiation Energy Particles like those in the Necromancy Department, she had several methods to cope.

The knowledge in the Enchantment Department is quite general, mainly including the production of Cursed Items, Enchantment potions, and the synthesis of Demonized Creatures. Besides these three main categories, there are many detailed branches.
To make progress in potions and creatures, guidance from a mentor and innate talent are essential. Although Freya was unsure if she had talent in these two subjects, self-study without direct instruction from a mentor would be very difficult. It wasn't about knowledge but rather the success rate of production.
Thus, she could only focus on the relatively easier aspect of Cursed Items.
As far as she knew, in the academy's Trading Area, some apprentices from the Enchantment Department would sell their creations there. The Magic Stones earned depended on the quality of the items, making it a side profession reliant on craftsmanship.

Five Hours Later.
In the third exclusive laboratory of the Necromancy Department, under Bright Light, a girl dressed in a Gray Robe was busy. Her long golden hair was casually tied into a single ponytail at the back of her head, complementing her serious expression with an air of competence.
The wide Apprentice Robe covered most of her skin. Even her hands were protected by specially treated gloves to prevent contamination from active Negative Energy Particles.
This girl was Freya, hired half a month ago.
At this moment, she was preparing for an Extraction Experiment for Leander.
Precision instruments were arranged on a metal rack. Since she had already done this several times before, it was not unfamiliar to her.
Once everything was ready, shortly after, Leander the Mentor entered the laboratory, dressed in a black robe with a pale complexion.
He glanced at the neatly arranged instruments beside the Experiment Table without saying a word and merely nodded slightly.
With a snap of his fingers, a cold, dark mist swept across Freya's face and appeared on the Experiment Table, swirling and expanding continuously.
Although Freya had witnessed this special Necromantic Teleportation Spell several times before, she still felt quite uncomfortable.
The aura of Negative Energy generated by the spell constantly attempted to erode her body, but it was blocked by an inexplicable barrier on her Robe.
This phenomenon quickly ceased as the black mist dissipated.
Once the mist cleared, a strange Alien Creature with a human upper body and a fish tail appeared on the Experiment Table.
The creature resembled an ordinary human girl in its upper half, but below the waist, it had a fish-like body.
This being, similar to the Merfolk of the Sea Tribe, was actually just a Man-Eating Shark with a similar appearance. Although it was also a semi-intelligent creature, its temperament was far more ferocious compared to the peaceful Merfolk. It preferred to attack various creatures that ventured into the water and would treat male humans as breeding tools.
Leander approached the Experiment Table and reached out to touch the gill-like organs under the Man-Eating Shark's jaw, seemingly checking its life signs.
After confirming that it was dead, he took out a purple memory crystal from his robe and placed it aside. He then turned towards the crystal with an expressionless face.

Four hours later, Leander looked at the light blue liquid in his hand with satisfaction. He gently tapped the Experiment Table, and a circle of black smoke emerged from behind him, quickly enveloping the Beaker he held.
Standing nearby, Freya could vaguely see that the Beaker in the black mist was being held by a decayed arm made of skin and bones. This sight reminded her of something unpleasant, causing her to frown slightly.
"Freya Green, clean up; the experiment is over."
"Alright, Leander the Mentor." Without caring about how Freya felt, Leander gave a command and walked straight out of the laboratory.
Once his black robe disappeared behind the door, Freya turned to glance at the disarrayed Experiment Table, let out a light sigh, and began the bloody cleanup work.
The assistant's job wasn't particularly difficult, but compared to the workload, the Necromancy Department laboratory was more about dealing with the troublesome Negative Energy Particles and the psychological strain it imposed.
Even with her hands already covered in blood, Freya felt slightly nauseous when facing the mangled experimental subjects.
As far as she knew, among the three experimental assistants over this short half-month, one apprentice had already given up on this task due to the sensory torment, unwilling to stay here even after compensating for the Magic Stone.
Half an hour later, she walked out of the classroom looking somewhat fatigued, holding four Magic Stones that she had accumulated together with her fellow assistants.
The sun was already setting, but in the distance, she could still see apprentices hurrying about. Freya tucked the Magic Stones back into her Gray Robe.
