As her knowledge increased, the powerful amplification ability of the Ice Blue Earrings became increasingly precious to her.
Although there was a time limit and a period of weakness after use, the ability to double her strength made these Earrings valuable enough to overlook those two limitations.
It was curious that such a precious Cursed Item had originated from the Byron Nobility, a place where wizards seldom ventured, which piqued Freya's interest slightly.
The battle below continued.
From the perspective of a Knight's Pinnacle, she had some self-preservation capability, but the ferocity of the Two-Headed Hound was beyond what she could currently handle.
The Ice Blue Giant Wolf, despite its ferocity, could not compete with an Abyssal Creature several levels above it.
After a simple miss, it was finally pinned down by the Two-Headed Hound, letting out a painful whimper.
The menacing fangs fully bared, the Two-Headed Hound bit down on the neck of this offending Elemental Creature.
Freya watched coldly from her elevated position as Tassel swayed gently in the warm wind behind her.
In the instant the Two-Headed Hound lunged, Freya's body suddenly moved, and she accurately threw the Sphere through its flames directly into its gaping maw.
Before amplification, Freya would have been unable to accomplish this task. However, after amplification, she had reached the level of a Knight's Pinnacle. Even though she was still no match for the Two-Headed Hound, she could still make some moves from above.
Crack!
A sound of breaking came from the Ice Blue Giant Wolf's neck as the searing Fangs tore it apart.
Once decapitated, the giant wolf slowly stiffened and turned into a pile of ice before gradually melting away.
After completely eliminating both obstacles, the Two-Headed Hound turned its gaze towards Freya, who stood on the high rock. Its blood-red Slit Pupils reflected nothing but greed.
Freya cautiously observed the movements of the Two-Headed Hound. If the Sphere she had thrown into its mouth proved ineffective or something unexpected occurred, she would withdraw immediately.
Without the giant wolf's interference, she wasn't sure if she could escape.
"Roar!"
The howl, unlike that of a typical dog, echoed as the Two-Headed Hound attempted to pounce towards Freya. Suddenly, its movements froze, and a massive tremor shook its abdomen, followed by a dull explosion sound emanating from it.
"It worked!" Freya observed the change in the Two-Headed Hound. Although she didn't know what effect the Sphere Rand had given her had, it seemed capable of dealing with this creature.
As the eldest grandson of the Benifin Family, Rand surely possessed one or two life-saving items, evident from his ability to summon a giant wolf that could withstand the Abyssal Cerberus.
Even for a wizard specialized in Summoning, summoning these two giant wolves must have been quite taxing. However, as long as Second-Class Apprentice Rand was merely injured and not dead, it was enough to indicate his capabilities.
"Ugh!"
A violent retching sound came from the head of the Two-Headed Hound that had consumed the Sphere.
It widened its crimson eyes and lowered its head. The explosions in its abdomen caused it to claw at the ground like an ordinary dog.
The other head was clearly affected as well, its cheeks puffed out, caught in a struggle between wanting to vomit and holding it back.
This made the previously fierce Two-Headed Hound appear quite comical.
Freya, however, remained unfazed by its display and simply stared motionlessly at the quiet dog head.
"Ugh!"
Another retching sound erupted as the silent dog head finally couldn't hold back any longer and opened its Big Mouth. A white Sphere mixed with black vomit was expelled.
Upon seeing what had been vomited out, Freya's eyes flickered, and she dashed forward at an incredible speed.
Behind her, Tassel seemed to flap like a pair of wings. A fierce wind rushed past with a sharp whistle.
In an instant, a shadow flashed by, and the Sphere within the vomit vanished abruptly.
On the other side, Freya appeared in the Stone Forest, cradling Lani in her arms.
The girl seemed to be in a semi-conscious state, her eyes glazed over and her face flushed.
Freya glanced at her, her brows furrowing slightly as she sensed that Lani felt like a massive furnace, a faint sulfuric odor emanating from her mouth and nose.
"It’s the energy pollution from the Two-Headed Hound's mouth..."
If it weren't for the spherical white energy shield surrounding her, she would have likely been reduced to a pile of flesh the moment she was swallowed by the beast, unable to hold on for so long.
After a bout of dry heaving behind her, it finally calmed down; it seemed that the effect of Sphere had worn off.
Without turning back for another look, Freya held Lani tightly and ran swiftly. As they passed Rand, she suddenly extended her foot and accurately kicked him onto her back.
Being amplified into a Great Knight, she felt little impact from the combined weight of the two.
The Tassel behind her transformed into a silver ribbon and returned to her body.
The amplification from the Ice Blue Earrings was gradually weakening.
Though there was no sound behind her, Freya could clearly sense danger approaching, causing the temperature around her to rise slowly.
Now, her only option was to lower her head and run wildly.
'Whoosh!'
The view of the towering Stone Forest opened up before her.
The Abyssal Lake appeared in her sight not far away.
'Thud.'
Freya leaped over the last giant stone, and the surrounding high temperature seemed to drop instantly.
She glanced back and saw that the Two-Headed Hound was only about a meter away from her, waves of sulfuric scent and heat rushing toward her.
However, once she stepped out of the Stone Forest's range, the Two-Headed Hound suddenly stopped, looking at Freya with confusion in its eyes, as if something were blocking its path.
Noticing the anomaly of the Two-Headed Hound, Freya immediately understood that it might be restricted by the range of the Resource Point, preventing it from leaving this Stone Forest.
Knowing she was out of danger, Freya stopped her frantic pace, exhaling heavily as her tense mind relaxed.
She dropped the two people she had been carrying and slumped to the ground, completely losing her composure.
The Two-Headed Hound also crouched on the ground, quietly watching Freya and the two others.
After a long while, seemingly bored, the Two-Headed Hound wagged its thick tail and ran back into the Stone Forest.
As Freya watched the massive creature leave, a wave of weakness washed over her, and her muscles showed signs of swelling; this was a side effect of using the Earrings.
The warm sunlight shone down on the three of them. Freya looked up at the sky, which was still around eight or nine o'clock.
It was surprising that so little time had passed from the beginning of this incident to its conclusion.
"I wonder what will happen next..." Freya thought lightly as she glanced at the two still unconscious on the ground, feeling slightly more energized. (To be continued)
